Can you feel it, my beautiful Tokers?!? Summer is nearing its end, and if you look hard enough, you can see the great pumpkin spice herds looming on the horizon. Let's make some memories and enjoy this last bit of summer sun before everyone starts to complain about how cold it is!
In order to make the most of this steamy month of August, we’ll need supplies! With that in mind, we hit Elevated Lounge, one of our favorite local i71 compliant watering holes, to check out what they had to offer. Suffice it to say, they *elevated* our minds with three strains of fantastic flower!
Starting off this terrific trio of terped-out treasures is the Bahama Mama! Allegedly first bred by Solfire Gardens, who crossed the popular Tropicana Cookies with Black Bananas strains to yield this potent Sativa hybrid, this mama ain’t playin’ and you best listen well if you know what’s good for you!
Averaging THC percentages around 20%, the funky fruity nose precedes an artfully balanced palate with notes of citrus and berries. A terpene profile dominated by Limonene, Beta-Caryophyllene, Alpha-Pinene, and Nerolidol provides motivated Tokers with a great quick-hitting daytime flower that won’t leave you couch-locked. I loved how it was energetic and euphoric, yet chill.
Next we diligently “researched” the Gelatti X. Coming from the famous Cookies group and known for its delicious flavor and balanced hybrid high, Gelatti X is a crossbreed of Gelato and OG Biscotti strains. How many different types of Gelato are there?!? Can we have a Gelato bar that features all the different offerings AND actual gelato?!? Doesn’t everyone love ice cream?!? Am I that high?!? The answer is yes, the question is how?!?
Thankfully the Gelatti X is a balanced 50/50 sativa/indica hybrid, so I should still be able to run to the grocery store and get some ice cream cuz now I’m hungry. Averaging 20-23% THC, Gelatti X is energetic enough that Tokers have used its medicinal properties to treat ADD or ADHD, chronic stress, depression, appetite loss, nausea, and chronic fatigue. The palate is reminiscent of tart fruits, berries, and mint, but the nose almost has a gassy/diesel/earthy quality? It's hard to put my finger on it, but I love a good mystery!
The nose and palate of this strain are SO intriguing to me! This is a rare chance to really get into a strain and I encourage our lovely Tokers to get some and really pick it apart. Try it in multiple formats and go down the rabbit hole with this one! Per usual I vaped, pulled tubes, and twisted up, but I really enjoyed vaping this strain! My trusty bubbler got in on the action too.
Rounding out this trio of tactfully tenacious terpenes is the Vanilla Frosting (above)! Originally bred by Humboldt Seed Company, Vanilla Frosting is a cross of Humboldt Frost OG and Humboldt Gelato Bx3. Known for its smooth, creamy, vanilla flavor, Vanilla Frosting is a potent yet relaxing slightly indica-dominant hybrid strain (65% indica/35% sativa) ranging from 20-25% THC. I really love this flower and its flavor profile, not to mention it’s effects. As a desert lover though, this def left me wanting cake!
