Marijuana Moment

The federal government is still dragging its feet on real progress, with the USDA currently blocking loans for businesses that even indirectly support the cannabis industry. Meanwhile, a political tug-of-war is heating up in Congress as some representatives attempt to undermine previous presidential pardons for marijuana possession. On a more positive note, a recent poll confirms what we already knew: over 80% of us are against the new federal ban on hemp-derived THC. At the state level, things are moving fast—Virginia is eyeing a 2026 retail launch, while D.C. continues to crack down on unlicensed shops.

This constant back-and-forth matters because it directly impacts our access to safe, legal products and the stability of the shops we love. Seeing consumers unite against hemp bans shows our community's growing political power, which is essential for pushing through the final hurdles of federal prohibition. While the "suits" in D.C. argue over paperwork, the real focus should remain on protecting medical patients and ensuring the legacy market isn't left behind as things finally go mainstream.
