The price of adult-use cannabis in Massachusetts has fallen to its lowest point since 2018, with the average eighth costing $14.20 in November, primarily due to market oversaturation. Separately, in December, the Cannabis Control Commission approved final regulations to allow social cannabis consumption at permitted events and licensed facilities.

The price of adult-use cannabis in Massachusetts has reached its lowest
point since sales launched in 2018, MassLive reports.

The average price of an eighth of an ounce of cannabis flower in
Massachusetts was $14.20 in November, according to publicly available data
from the Cannabis Control Commission (CCC). The data shows that outside of
a COVID-related flux in 2020, the average price of cannabis in the state
has fallen year after year, with the most dramatic drop-off happening in
2022 and 2023.

From November 2024 to November 2025, prices are down more than 12%, the
report said.

Experts say that market oversaturation has driven prices down, with over
120 cannabis cultivators licensed to operate in the state.

The state posted its all-time annual sales record in 2024 of $1.64 billion,
but it looks likely to fall short of that record in 2025.

Meanwhile, in December, CCC officials approved the final regulations to
allow social cannabis consumption at events, so long as they have the
proper pemits, and in certain licensed facilities.
