Senate Advances Trump’s DEA Administrator Nominee

Marijuana Moment
The Senate is moving forward with Terrance Cole, President Trump’s nominee to lead the DEA, and his confirmation could be the final word on marijuana rescheduling. While Cole has promised to prioritize the review of the Schedule III proposal, he’s been tight-lipped about his ultimate stance and has expressed past concerns regarding the health impacts of cannabis. Currently, the rescheduling process is at a total standstill, with administrative hearings paused and officials at an impasse.
This matters to every daily toker because the DEA holds the keys to federal reform. A supportive leader could finally clear the way for Schedule III, which would lower taxes for businesses and hopefully lead to better prices and more research. However, with the process currently stuck in bureaucratic limbo, the community is left waiting to see if this new leadership will actually embrace the progress we’ve been looking for or continue to stall. It’s a high-stakes moment that will define the industry's accessibility and growth for years to come.
