Despite marijuana being legal in many places, Facebook and Instagram often treat legitimate policy talk or health research like illegal drug dealing. The letter calls for transparent rules, a fair appeals process, and an end to discriminatory bans that silence our culture.

This matters to everyday tokers because social media is where we find community and learn about safe consumption or local law changes. When Meta nukes influencers or nonprofits, they aren’t just "cleaning up" the platform—they’re cutting off our access to vital information and making it harder for the movement to grow. For the industry to thrive, we need a digital space where we can talk shop and share knowledge without fear of being silenced by a "suit-and-tie" algorithm.
