One of my favorite cultivators regardless of location (West Coast included) Alternative Solutions (aka Alt Sol) recently harvested something pretty special for us sativa lovers here in DC. Currently available at Takoma Wellness Center medical marijuana dispensary, this Berry Cinex is a "must try" for all local cannabis connoisseurs, in my opinion.
With its sweet and juicy berry aroma that deserves a level above "fruit-forward" in order to properly characterize it, I just love ripping this down in the morning/daytime. Alt Sol says it has "terpene levels that are off the charts" and I wholly believe them. On my first exhale the flavors, seemingly effervescent to my palate, combined in a fruit punch that I would liken to a Hurricane beverage from Mardi Gras. Seconds later, let the party begin as your mind and body morph into a form capable of sustaining the influx of energy you're about to experience.
A cross of legendary sativa-heavy hybrids Cinderella 99 and Vortex, which is then crossed with Mystery Berry (or what I would say is an unknown Berry varietal), Berry Cinex's potency is certainly understandable. Recently testing in the 27% THC range, she's known for her rich headband-like feeling upon onset, spine tingling euphoric effects, and enough energy to keep you and your mind going for hours on end. This batch definitely checks all those boxes, and then some, for me.
The only thing I have to worry a little about with this strain is getting too carried away and ending up unable to sleep. The energy it affords along with the delectable fruity flavor make it enticing to keep packing it up, but, as I'm often reminded, there are only so many daylight hours before I need to wind down. Good thing I've got some great indica's to help me have a soft landing (in my bed)!
Head to Takoma Wellness Center dispensary today and check out this Berry Cinex from DC craft cultivators Alternative Solutions with your own eyes. We didn't even talk about how absolutely incredible the trichomes are or how gorgeous the buds look, but luckily I think the pictures speak for themselves. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
