Initial Thoughts
With a name resembling the legendary arena in NYC, this Madison Square Gumbo has a lot to live up to given the amazing bands and excellent shows I've enjoyed there in the not too distant past. Perhaps, it could even be named after a famous pot of Gumbo from "the lot" at MSG - one that somehow provided more nourishment and flavor than thought possible to a worn down audience at the end of a Phish run? Whatever the case, this one has the looks and aroma of a high-end, exotic specimen so I'm gonna throw on a live set from MSG while I roll up and partake in this MSG. 🐠
Appearance
Light green, purple, and heavily trichome covered buds with burnt orange hairs.
Status
Beginning to cure.
Aroma
Piney, bready, and savory with hints of spices and fruit. Once you begin cracking it open and breaking it up, though, a new fruity and gassy aspect emerges and begins to dominate.
Flavor
Notes of sour fruit, gas, and skunk. Sort of akin to chewing bubblegum and drinking a beer at the same time. Smooth hitting.
Lineage
The Madison Square Gumbo strain is a cross of Cookies & Cream and Secret Weapon that runs indica dominant.
Effects
This one is superbly stoning and euphoric, but also mood enhancing with positive vibes that seem to flow outward from your high, at first. Eventually, its calming nature becomes overwhelming and I barely made it to the fridge before needing to sprawl out on my couch. There's also some disorientation and a psychedelic skew to the cerebral portion of the buzz. Definitely best for evening or sedentary activities.
Conclusion
A uniquely flavorful and highly potent batch, this Madison Square Gumbo is an excellent indica option for those looking to quickly get and stay stoned - you know, like at a concert or other event. To "stash the Gumbo" for yourself just head to DC i-71 storefront dispensary, Flight Pass, ASAP and don't forget to mention that you heard about it on Toker's Guide!
