The campaign to repeal the Massachusetts adult-use cannabis market is advancing to the House of Representatives for consideration after a legal challenge referencing allegations of fraudulent signature gathering was struck down. Despite the controversy, the state's cannabis market continues to grow, setting a new annual sales record last year at more than $1.65 billion. < Back Petition to Repeal Massachusetts Cannabis Market Advances Despite Claims of Misled Voters Jan 23, 2026 Source: Graham Abbott Ganjapreneur Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link The campaign to repeal the Massachusetts adult-use cannabis market is proceeding to the House of Representatives for consideration despite reports that the campaign’s signature gatherers misled voters into signing the petition, The Boston Globe reports. The State Ballot Law Commission on Thursday struck down a legal challenge to the petition that referenced multiple allegations of signature gatherers for the anti-cannabis campaign lying to signatories about the petition, among other fraudulent strategies. The repeal campaign received over $1.5 million in donations from the cannabis prohibition group Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM). With the challenge dismissed, the petition will move forward in the ballot approval process. Under state law, however, lawmakers can choose to adopt initiatives submitted by the public before they reach the ballot. “With this decision, the certification of this round of petitions has now formally ended… If the Legislature chooses not to pass any of the initiatives, the petitioners will have the opportunity to begin the final round of signature gathering in May.” — Secretary of State William Galvin, in a press release Meanwhile, the Massachusetts cannabis market has continued to grow since its 2018 launch — dispensaries set a new annual sales record last year at more than $1.65 billion, and the commonwealth is approaching $9 billion in total sales. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree. - Delaware Bill Seeks to Decriminalize Smoking Cannabis in Public | Toker's Guide
A new bill in the Delaware House of Representatives, introduced by Rep. Eric Morrison, aims to decriminalize the public consumption of cannabis by changing the penalty from a misdemeanor with potential imprisonment and higher fines to a civil violation with a maximum $50 fine for a first offense. Morrison stated the goal is to reduce harm, as criminal records negatively affect housing and job opportunities, and the bill is currently with the House Health and Human Development Committee. < Back Delaware Bill Seeks to Decriminalize Smoking Cannabis in Public Jan 9, 2026 Source: Graham Abbott Ganjapreneur Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link A new bill in the Delaware House of Representatives is seeking to decriminalize the public consumption of cannabis, WHYY reports. The proposal, introduced by state Rep. Eric Morrison (D), would reduce the penalty for public cannabis consumption from a misdemeanor — which can lead to arrest, imprisonment of up to five days, and fine of up to $200 — to a civil violation punishable by up to $50 in fines for the first offense, increasing to up to $100 on subsequent violations. Morrison said his bill is not designed to approve or condone public cannabis consumption. Rather, his proposal is about “reducing the penalty.” “It doesn’t make sense for folks smoking cannabis in public to have a criminal record for that. Criminal records hurt people in terms of finding housing and finding jobs. That’s not good for society.” — Morrison, via WHYY The bill is currently assigned to the House Health and Human Development Committee. Delaware’s adult-use cannabis legalization law took effect in April 2024 without the governor’s signature, and the state’s first adult-use dispensaries opened for business last August. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree. - Judge Says Alaska Hemp Rules Requiring Limiting Hemp Product Sales to Dispensaries Are Constitutional | Toker's Guide
A federal judge ruled the Alaska Department of Federal Resources did not violate the U.S. Constitution with regulations on the sale of intoxicating hemp products. The rules require that intoxicating hemp products be sold only through licensed cannabis retailers in the state. The Agriculture Division was motivated by public safety concerns when it took measured action to regulate an emerging industry. Alaska legalized cannabis for adult use in 2014. < Back Judge Says Alaska Hemp Rules Requiring Limiting Hemp Product Sales to Dispensaries Are Constitutional Jun 3, 2025 Source: TG Branfalt Ganjapreneur Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link A federal judge last week ruled that the Alaska Department of Federal Resources did not violate the U.S. Constitution with regulations on the sale of intoxicating hemp products that were issued in 2023, KTOO reports. In the order, Magistrate Judge Kyle Reardon found the plaintiffs – the Alaska Industrial Hemp Association – “identified no authority that supports their suggestion that the State’s amended hemp regulations conflict with the 2018 Farm Act’s definition of hemp” and that the “regulations are consistent” with the Farm Bill. The rules require that intoxicating hemp products be sold only through licensed cannabis retailers in the state, and products sold outside of the state-approved retailers are considered illegal. “On their face, the amended regulations provide that any hemp retailer – regardless of its location – may not offer products intended for human or animal consumption that contain delta-9-THC. Plaintiffs present no evidence that the regulations treat out-of-state hemp retailers any differently from their in-state counterparts. Moreover, the State’s differential regulation of the marijuana market does not render the amended hemp regulations discriminatory. The effects of those regulations on out-of-state hemp retailers cannot be compared to those effects on in-state marijuana retailers or other participants in the marijuana market, for those entities are not similarly situated.” — Reardon in the order In an email, Assistant Attorney General Kevin Higgins, who represented the state in the lawsuit, told KTOO that the Agriculture Division “was motivated by public safety concerns when it took measured action to regulate an emerging industry.” “This was an easy case to make,” he told KTOO, “which is probably why the plaintiffs didn’t file an opposition to the motion for summary judgment.” Alaska legalized cannabis for adult use in 2014. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree. - GOP Senator Pushes for Federal Cannabis Regulatory Framework | Toker's Guide
This Marijuana Moment newsletter from October 15, 2025, covers several key cannabis and drug policy developments. Topics include the Supreme Court acting on a marijuana and guns case, California's governor vetoing a cannabis shipping bill, discussions on psychedelics in North Carolina, a study on the rise of blunt smoking, and an Ohio executive order temporarily banning intoxicating hemp products. It also touches on federal and state-level cannabis updates, local news, scientific studies, advocacy, and business developments in the cannabis industry. < Back GOP Senator Pushes for Federal Cannabis Regulatory Framework Oct 15, 2025 Source: Tom Angell Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link The federal landscape for cannabis is heating up as Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) advocates for a formal national "regulatory construct." This framework would finally treat marijuana like a legitimate industry, complete with excise taxes and dedicated funding for law enforcement. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is weighing in on the controversial ban on gun ownership for cannabis users, potentially clearing a path for more Second Amendment protections for tokers. On the state level, it’s a mixed bag. California’s Governor Newsom recently blocked a bill that would have allowed direct-to-patient cannabis shipping, while Ohio is cracking down on intoxicating hemp products. However, North Carolina is exploring the benefits of psychedelics for veterans, and Pennsylvania’s leadership is eyeing federal rescheduling before the midterms. For regular enthusiasts, these developments are a reminder that while the road to full acceptance is bumpy, the conversation is moving toward common-sense regulation. Federal recognition and protecting the rights of consumers—whether it’s gun ownership or better access—means the community is closer than ever to ending the "gray market" era and enjoying a safer, more transparent culture. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree. - From the Badge to the Vine: How One Agent Found Healing Through Psychedelics | Toker's Guide
Retired federal agent Kemmi Sadler explains how her law enforcement background focused on control and suppression made it difficult to process personal trauma and grief. After experiencing profound healing through an ayahuasca ceremony, she now advocates for first responders to reconsider their approach to mental health and investigate alternative therapeutic options. < Back From the Badge to the Vine: How One Agent Found Healing Through Psychedelics Apr 22, 2026 Source: Marijuana Moment Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link In a powerful new perspective, a retired federal agent is opening up about how the rigid mindset of law enforcement often clashes with the deep need for emotional healing. Kemmi Sadler, a former Supervisory Special Agent, recently shared her journey of trading a career built on control and evidence for a path of profound self-discovery through plant medicine. Her story isn't just about personal growth; it’s a vital lesson for the entire cannabis and wellness community on the importance of re-evaluating what we think we know about prohibited substances. For years, Sadler operated within the strict confines of the "War on Drugs" mentality. She lived through immense personal and professional trauma—from losing a colleague in Iraq to the heartbreaking loss of her brother to heroin—all while suppressing her grief to maintain her professional composure. It wasn't until after her retirement that she realized the traditional tools of her trade, like compartmentalization and suppression, were failing her. Taking an investigative approach to her own mental health, Sadler eventually participated in an ayahuasca ceremony. Rather than finding an "escape," she found a way to directly confront and forgive the heavy burdens she had carried for nearly two decades. This transformative experience led her to found Legalize the Divine, an organization advocating for first responders to have safe access to traditional healing methods. This story matters because it highlights a massive shift in how we view plant-based therapy. It shows that even those who were once the most skeptical can find healing in these ancient traditions. For anyone in the industry or those who use cannabis for wellness, it’s a reminder that plant medicine is about more than just recreation—it’s a legitimate tool for reclaiming your life. If you’re a first responder or someone in a high-stress field, don’t be afraid to investigate alternative paths. Sometimes, the evidence for healing is found where you least expect it. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree.
