  • Grown Rogue Expands to New York After Purchasing PharmaCann Medical License | Toker's Guide

Grown Rogue acquired PharmaCann assets in New York for $4.5 million to expand its indoor flower cultivation capacity. < Back Grown Rogue Expands to New York After Purchasing PharmaCann Medical License Aug 25, 2026 Source: Margaret Jackson MJbizDaily Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link New York’s cannabis scene is getting a major boost as craft grower Grown Rogue officially makes its footprint in the Empire State. By acquiring key operational assets from PharmaCann in a strategic deal valued at four and a half million dollars, the recognized cultivator is stepping up to address one of the state's biggest retail hurdles: a real shortage of premium indoor growing space. For local consumers and daily flower enthusiasts, this industry move brings plenty of good news. While New York has expanded its retail dispensary presence significantly, finding consistently high-grade, indoor-grown buds has sometimes been a challenge. Indoor facilities give growers total climate and light control, allowing them to produce dense, frosted nugs packed with rich terpene profiles and dependable potency. Grown Rogue has built a reputation in other markets for delivering artisanal quality without charging astronomical prices, and bringing that ethos east means shoppers can look forward to better strain variety, cleaner burns, and higher overall quality on dispensary shelves. Beyond just expanding product selection, boosting local indoor production helps stabilize the broader market supply. A healthier indoor canopy prevents sudden inventory shortages and keeps fresh batches flowing to licensed storefronts year-round, which ultimately drives fair pricing and better consistency for everyone. As these new crops begin hitting menus in the coming months, keep an eye out for fresh harvest drops. To get the best possible experience, always ask your local budtender about recent harvest dates and terpene breakdowns on the label. New York’s legal market is maturing fast, and adding dedicated indoor expertise is a big win for anyone who appreciates quality flower. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. • Sunshine State Regulators are Calling Out Trulieve for Some Messy Habits at Their Local Grow Site | Toker's Guide

Florida is in a legal dispute with cannabis operator Trulieve over alleged environmental violations, including unpermitted surfaces and erosion, at a cultivation site. < Back Sunshine State Regulators are Calling Out Trulieve for Some Messy Habits at Their Local Grow Site Apr 28, 2026 Source: Margaret Jackson MJbizDaily Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Down in the Sunshine State, a bit of a legal storm is brewing between state officials and one of the biggest names in the game, Trulieve. It seems like some of their cultivation practices have come under fire regarding how they handle the land and water around their grow sites. While we all love seeing the industry expand, this situation serves as a vital reminder that being a leader in the cannabis space comes with a major responsibility toward the environment. The disagreement centers on how water is managed at a specific facility. Regulators are looking into issues like unauthorized paved areas that do not let rain soak into the ground naturally, stagnant pools that are not draining properly, and soil wearing away because of how water is being released. It might sound like a bunch of boring municipal paperwork, but for those of us who appreciate the plant, it really matters. When we talk about clean medicine, that definition should extend all the way back to the soil and the local water supply. For the everyday enthusiast, news like this is a prompt to think about the footprint of our favorite products. The industry is moving away from the shadows and into the spotlight, which means big operations need to meet the same high environmental standards as any other agricultural giant. Supporting brands that take their environmental impact seriously ensures that the future of legal flower is as green as the buds themselves. If you want to be a more conscious consumer, do not be afraid to do a little digging into the sustainability practices of the brands you frequent. Look for companies that are transparent about their water usage and land management. As the market in Florida and beyond continues to mature, seeing these types of checks and balances from state regulators is actually a sign of a healthy, professionalized industry. It keeps everyone on their toes and ensures that the communities hosting these massive grows are protected for the long haul. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. Katie Neer, who is of counsel at Dickinson & Avella and represents the New York Medical Cannabis Industry Association, told the Pressroom that a $5 million fee for three co-located shops, paid over time, would be “feasible” — but a $15 million fee is not. “If they codify this fee at $15 million, we won’t have a medical program within three months.” — Neer to Capitol Pressroom According to state data, as of May 1, there are 92,967 registered medical cannabis patients in New York and 39 registered medical-only dispensaries; however, seven of those businesses are listed as “temporarily closed.” Neer said that Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) is “insisting” on the new fee structure and won’t negotiate with lawmakers despite members from her party controlling both chambers of the legislature. Neer added that if the fee were $5 million – instead of $15 million – the state would still collect $100 million from 20 operators and still be able to “implement their social and economic equity obligations” required under the state’s adult-use law. “The way they’re playing this, I think they at most get $6 million in additional fees paid to them, and that’s it,” she said. “And they will kill the medical program.” < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co.
