The Arizona Department of Health Services announced the voluntary recall of two batches of cannabis flower due to contamination: one strain, Scrooge (produced by Eba Holdings), for possible Aspergillus contamination, and another, Saints Bruce Banner (produced by Green Medicine), for possible lead contamination. Consumers are advised not to consume the products, and potential exposure symptoms for each contaminant were listed. The article also notes that Arizona legalized cannabis in 2020, with sales launching in 2021, but growth has recently stagnated.

Officials with the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) announced
the voluntary recall of two batches of cannabis flower due to potential
contamination concerns, FOX 10 reports.

Two strains are targeted under the recall orders, which were issued on
October 24. The first strain — Scrooge, batch number 250310S-100 — is
produced by Eba Holdings and is being recalled over possible Aspergillus
contamination. The second strain — Saints Bruce Banner, batch number
F11BC241209 — is produced by Green Medicine and is being recalled for
possible lead contamination.

“Consumers who have purchased potentially contaminated products should not
ingest, inhale, or otherwise consume them and should dispose of them.” —
AZDHS statement, in the report

Potential symptoms from exposure to the contaminants include “asthma or
cold-like symptoms to fever and chest pain, among many others,” for
Aspergillus fungus contamination. For lead contamination, “Symptoms range
from but not limited to fatigue, headache, irritability, difficulty
concentrating, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, constipation, and
anemia,” officials noted.

Arizona legalized adult-use cannabis in 2020 with a successful voter
initiative. Licensed sales launched in the state in 2021 but growth has
stagnated in recent years, with 2024 seeing its combined adult-use and
medical sales falling short of the previous two years’ totals. In 2025, sales
were down during the first two quarters.
