German Shepherd ‘Demi’ Sniffs Out Cannabis on Her Field Debut in Amreli

In a significant first for Amreli district, the Special Operations Group
(SOG) successfully seized 1.394 kg of dry cannabis during a raid in the
Hanumanpara area of Amreli city, with critical assistance from a newly
trained sniffer dog named Demi. Demi, a two-and-a-half-year-old German
Shepherd, was on her maiden field operation when she identified the
contraband hidden inside a wooden cabinet. Acting on a tip-off, the SOG
raided a house near a school, where Demi’s alert led to the discovery and
recovery of the cannabis bundle. One suspect was arrested, and items
including a mobile phone and a bike, valued at Rs 54,190, were seized.
Trained for nine months by the K9SRP group and handled by trainer Rahul Me

Mehta’s commands. She receives dedicated care from the police force,
including special accommodation, nutritious food, and regular … . Demi is
