Marijuana Moment

Ohio Congressman Dave Joyce isn't sweating the rumors of a Department of Justice delay on marijuana rescheduling. As a co-chair of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus, Joyce believes Attorney General Pam Bondi will follow President Trump’s lead, regardless of her past opposition to medical MJ in Florida. He’s confident that the executive order to move cannabis to Schedule III is a top priority that the DOJ won't simply ignore. Meanwhile, the House just passed a spending bill that keeps federal hands off state medical programs, while dropping previous attempts to block the rescheduling process entirely.

This is massive news for the community because moving to Schedule III would finally slash the research red tape and let state-legal businesses actually take tax deductions like normal companies. For those of us in D.C., this follow-through could be the key to finally ending the congressional blockade on recreational sales. While some old-school AGs are still fighting it, seeing a major GOP voice push for progress shows that the tide is truly turning toward common-sense access.
