Marijuana Moment
As the White House edges closer to a final call on reclassifying cannabis, a new YouGov poll commissioned by the Ethics and Public Policy Center shows that a solid 57 percent of Americans are ready to end prohibition once and for all. While the majority of the country is onboard, the data reveals a sharp partisan divide: most Republican voters still oppose legalization, though younger Trump supporters are starting to break rank. Interestingly, older Harris voters showed the strongest support for reform at 87 percent, highlighting a massive shift in how long-time advocates view the plant.
Even if full legalization isn't on the immediate horizon, the expected shift to Schedule III would be a historic win for the community. This move would finally acknowledge the medicinal benefits of cannabis and allow local businesses to thrive by easing research restrictions and federal tax burdens. For everyday tokers, this widespread public support is a breath of fresh air, signaling that the stigma is fading and making it much harder for politicians to ignore the push for a safe, accessible, and legal marketplace.
