House Spending Bill Provision Seeks to Block Cannabis Rescheduling Process < Back House Spending Bill Provision Seeks to... Jul 15, 2025 Source: Graham Abbott Ganjapreneur Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Republican lawmakers in the House Appropriations Committee are pushing a spending bill provision that would prevent the Justice Department from allocating any funds toward efforts to reschedule cannabis under federal law, Marijuana Moment reports. It is the second year in a row that GOP lawmakers have included the provision in the spending bill for federal Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies (CJS). The effort directly counters the federal rescheduling process that the Biden Administration formally kicked off in 2024, and which President Trump vocally supported during his second presidential campaign. The rescheduling process, however, may have stalled out permanently under the second Trump presidency after a DEA judge canceled a long-anticipated hearing for expert testimony on the issue. And in April, an unnamed White House official said the administration had “no action” planned for a cannabis policy update. “SEC. 607. None of the funds appropriated or other wise made available by this Act may be used to reschedule marijuana (as such term is defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 802)) or to remove marijuana from the schedules established under section 202 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 812).” — Excerpt of the spending bill Notably, the spending bill does include a longstanding provision that protects state-legal medical cannabis programs from federal interference. The latest version of that provision, however, would increase penalties for distributing cannabis near schools, colleges, playgrounds, or public housing, the report said. Meanwhile, in the Senate Appropriations Committee, lawmakers have proposed a spending bill provision that would ban the sale of intoxicating hemp products nationwide after one year. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree. • Joe Rogan Disputes Kamala Harris Claim About Discussing Cannabis on His Show | Toker's Guide

Joe Rogan is disputing Kamala Harris’s claim in her book, “107 Days,” that he “lied” when he alleged she refused to discuss marijuana with him before the 2024 election. Harris stated her team suggested topics like cannabis, social media censorship, and crypto, while Rogan’s team wanted to discuss the economy, immigration, and abortion. No interview occurred due to scheduling conflicts and Rogan’s unwillingness to do the podcast remotely. Rogan claims Harris’s campaign didn’t want to discuss marijuana due to her prosecutorial record in California, where she sent many people to jail for marijuana offenses. Harris addressed this in her book, stating her record was mischaracterized and she sought to keep nonviolent offenders out of jail. < Back Joe Rogan Disputes Kamala Harris Claim About Discussing Cannabis on His Show Oct 13, 2025 Source: Kyle Jaeger Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Joe Rogan and Kamala Harris are locked in a high-profile "he-said, she-said" over why a 2024 pre-election interview never happened. In her new book, Harris claims Rogan lied about her team refusing to discuss cannabis. She insists they actually pitched it as a topic, but scheduling and location issues killed the deal. Rogan, however, is standing his ground, claiming her team wanted a restricted, shorter session away from his Austin studio and avoided the subject of weed due to her California prosecutorial record. This debate hits home for the community because it highlights how cannabis remains a political lightning rod. While Harris championed legalization on the campaign trail, her past record as a prosecutor continues to follow her, making it difficult to fully win over skeptical enthusiasts. For regular tokers, this back-and-forth matters because it shows that even at the highest levels of media and politics, our plant is still a complex, contested issue. Clear, honest dialogue between leaders and cultural icons is essential for moving toward true federal reform. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree. • Missouri Proposes Rules to Protect Equity Cannabis Businesses from Predatory Contracts | Toker's Guide

Missouri cannabis regulators are filing proposed rules to halt the frequent revocation of microbusiness licenses—intended for social equity applicants—caused by what they characterize as "predatory" contracts that limit the eligible applicants' control and profit. The proposed changes will require the state to review all agreements affecting ownership before issuing licenses, redefine "majority owned and operated" to require genuine operational control, and mandate that the designated contact be a majority owner. < Back Missouri Proposes Rules to Protect Equity Cannabis Businesses from Predatory Contracts Dec 16, 2025 Source: Marijuana Moment Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Missouri is making moves to protect its social equity cannabis program from "predatory" outside influences. State regulators recently proposed new rules to prevent well-connected investors from using unfair contracts to hijack microbusiness licenses meant for disadvantaged applicants. Currently, over 30% of these licenses have been revoked because the "owners" didn't actually have control or were trapped by massive debt-to-ownership schemes. The new plan shifts the review process to the front end, vetting ownership and financial agreements before a license is even issued. It also requires the main contact person to be a majority owner and mandates training on how to avoid shady business deals. This is a massive win for the local community because it ensures that the people the law was designed to help—like those impacted by the drug war—actually keep their seats at the table. For regular tokers, this means a more diverse and authentic market where local, independent shops can actually survive against corporate giants. Holding these licenses in the right hands keeps the industry’s soul intact. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree. • To Live and Thrive in LA | Toker's Guide

The Chronic is a Los Angeles cannabis dispensary that distinguishes itself by leaning on the history and culture of high-grade California weed rooted in 1990s hip-hop and LA street life. Founder Orlando Padilla built the concept on authenticity and community, which has allowed the shop to build a loyal following and plan expansion into in-house genetics and a streetwear label. < Back To Live and Thrive in LA Dec 21, 2025 Source: Jackie Bryant Cannabis Now Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Los Angeles has no shortage of dispensaries. Every neighborhood has one—or three—and most promise the same mix of premium flower, polished interiors and loyalty points. The Chronic, in El Sereno, has managed to stand apart by leaning on something that can’t be manufactured: history. For decades, “The Chronic” has meant high-grade California weed. The name was embedded in 1990s hip-hop and LA street life long before the plant was legal. When founder Orlando Padilla opened his ivy-covered flagship a little more than two years ago, he built the concept around that legacy. “The mission was clear: build something for the people, by the people,” he says. “Cannabis and culture have always been intertwined—we just brought that truth into the modern space.” *built to last:* “With The Chronic, we built something that represents cannabis culture, Padilla says of his LA streetwear and hip-hop influenced dispensary. The shop sits quietly on Alhambra Avenue, its black-and-gold signage a deliberate nod to LA’s streetwear and hip-hop lineage. The design is minimal but intentional: Greenery softens the dark facade; inside, warm light and gold accents give the space an easy confidence. It’s top-tier without being uptight. Customers come from the surrounding neighborhood and across the city, drawn by word of mouth and the store’s mix of accessibility and polish. Padilla insists that the culture comes first. “We didn’t just build a dispensary,” he says. “We built something that represents cannabis culture.” His team is mostly local, and that sense of community, he says, shapes both the atmosphere and the service. “We treat customers like family because that’s how we want to be treated—we’re from the neighborhoods we serve.” The Chronic’s ambitions reach beyond retail. Padilla is developing Chronic Genetics, an in-house line of proprietary strains, alongside a forthcoming branded collection of flower, vapes and edibles. A streetwear label, coded into the store’s black-and-gold aesthetic, is in the works. Padilla says the company plans to host cultural events and collaborations with local artists and creative types. “The Chronic has always stood for high-quality cannabis and the culture surrounding it,” he says. “We’re just showing what that legacy looks like in today’s legal world,” he adds of his lifestyle empire ambitions. That legacy is complicated in a market as competitive as Los Angeles. The city’s cannabis retail landscape is saturated, and even well-known shops struggle to maintain relevance as regulations, taxes and new brands flood the space. Padilla says The Chronic’s advantage is authenticity—its roots in a community that understands cannabis as more than a product. “Professional doesn’t have to mean corporate,” he says. “You can set a high standard and still keep it real.” The Chronic has rapidly built a loyal following and a recognizable aesthetic without losing its neighborhood feel. It hasn’t reinvented SoCal cannabis so much as reminded people what it’s supposed to feel like: personal and grounded in culture. In a city that often treats cannabis as fashion, The Chronic’s success suggests that the old rules—connection, respect and good weed—still might work. • How to Get Your Dispensary Noticed by the New Wave of AI Weed Shoppers | Toker's Guide

This article discusses how AI assistants and answer engines are changing consumer discovery in cannabis retail, prompting dispensaries to ensure their websites, menus, and local pages are easily legible to machines. It emphasizes that optimizing digital content for AI discovery helps pre-qualify shoppers and capture intent before they ever visit a physical store or menu. < Back How to Get Your Dispensary Noticed by the New Wave of AI Weed Shoppers Jun 17, 2026 Source: Casey Duff MG Magazine Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link The way herb lovers discover their next favorite bud is undergoing a massive shift, and it’s all thanks to artificial intelligence. Instead of typing a simple query like "dispensary near me" into a standard search bar, everyday consumers are leaning on smart platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini to guide their buying choices. People are asking nuanced questions about which edibles promote a restful night, the exact functional differences between live resin and rosin, or what low-dose drinks are perfect for an upcoming live concert. This means shoppers are arriving at online menus with their minds already half-made up, thoroughly educated by digital assistants before they ever click onto a store page. For the cannabis community, this is actually a beautiful thing. It levels the playing field, shifting the focus from who has the biggest marketing budget to who provides the most accurate, helpful information. Recent retail analytics confirm that consumers guided by these automated assistants stay on websites longer, explore more inventory, and actually spend about 53 percent more cash per visit compared to standard traffic. For local shop owners and brands, the message is clear: clean up your digital menus. Robots reward clarity. To ensure your spot shines in these automated recommendations, make sure your online product descriptions go beyond basic THC percentages. Include detailed serving counts, flavor profiles, specific extraction methods, and precise store pickup details. Importantly, this digital evolution won't replace the classic storefront vibe. A digital recommendation can suggest a product category, but the human budtender behind the counter remains the heart of the culture. Friendly retail staff are more vital than ever to help consumers verify their digital research, answer real questions, and ensure everyone walks home with a safe, accurate, and completely satisfying haul. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree. • Why Strict Bans Across Europe Are Actually Feeding the Underground Market | Toker's Guide

This article addresses claims by European authorities blaming North American cannabis legalization for illicit drug smuggling, arguing instead that European prohibition drives the illicit market while regulation provides economic and enforcement benefits. < Back Why Strict Bans Across Europe Are Actually Feeding the Underground Market Aug 25, 2026 Source: Johnny Green Cannabis Now Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Across the globe, the push for sensible plant access has made huge strides, yet familiar anti-cannabis rhetoric continues to resurface. European officials have recently pointed fingers at North American reform, alleging that legal markets across the Atlantic are fueling black-market smuggling into major European ports like Antwerp-Bruges. However, local authorities haven't provided proof that intercepted shipments stem from licensed, compliant operators rather than illicit networks. The core issue isn't progressive legislation in North America—it's the lingering prohibition across Europe. Historical patterns and hard data consistently demonstrate that prohibition fosters underground markets. When governments open the door to legal dispensaries, tested goods, and home cultivation, everyday consumers overwhelmingly choose safe, regulated avenues over unverified sources. We have seen this proven dynamic play out repeatedly worldwide. In Uruguay, legal pharmacy sales and home gardens severely undercut illicit sales. In Canada, licensed storefronts quickly captured the vast majority of the national market post-legalization. Meanwhile, along the U.S.-Mexico border, cross-border smuggling dropped drastically as legal state-level retail expanded, proving that consumer demand naturally migrates toward safe, reliable storefronts when given the option. Beyond stifling black markets, opening up adult-use access generates undeniable economic wins. Regulated frameworks drive local job creation, support agricultural regions, and yield billions in tax revenue for community development. Furthermore, ending criminal enforcement saves massive public funds—for instance, Germany previously spent over a billion euros annually policing the plant before its recent landmark reforms. For everyday enthusiasts and advocates, this global conversation reinforces a crucial point: smart regulation protects consumers, guarantees product purity, and empowers local communities. Supporting fully legal, transparent markets remains the most effective way to eliminate illicit trade while ensuring everyone has access to safe, quality flower and infused products. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree. • Courts Face Constitutional Challenges to Federal Gun Ban for Cannabis Users | Toker's Guide

A new report from the Congressional Research Service (CRS) examines the evolving legal landscape surrounding Section 922(g)(3), a federal statute prohibiting gun possession by marijuana and other illegal drug users. This comes as more federal courts are finding constitutional issues with the law's application, especially after the 2022 Supreme Court decision *New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen* and the subsequent 2024 *U.S. v. Rahimi* ruling. The *Bruen* decision replaced a two-step test for Second Amendment challenges with a "history-centered framework." The CRS report highlights the *U.S. v. Daniels* case, where the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals twice ruled the gun restriction unconstitutional as applied to an occasional cannabis user, citing a lack of historical precedent for disarming ordinary citizens due to routine intoxication. The Department of Justice (DOJ) has not sought Supreme Court review of the *Daniels* decision but is appealing similar cases like *U.S. v. Hemani*, arguing that Section 922(g)(3) is constitutional because it targets habitual users who pose a clear danger and that the restriction is temporary. Other federal courts, including the Eighth Circuit in *U.S. v. Cooper* and *U.S. v. Baxter*, have also cast doubt on the legality of the ban, finding insufficient historical precedent for such a broad restriction on Second Amendment rights. A federal judge in Pennsylvania, however, dismissed a lawsuit challenging the ban, ruling it constitutional and that patients can avoid legal jeopardy by choosing alternative treatments. The situation has created confusion among medical marijuana patients, lawmakers, and advocacy groups, including the National Rifle Association (NRA), which notes a "confusing regulatory landscape." Some states are attempting to preserve gun rights for marijuana users through legislation, while others, like Kentucky, have issued warnings that federal law prohibits firearm possession for participants in state medical marijuana programs. Kentucky's governor supports federal reforms to address this issue. The report concludes that lower courts are "grappling with the renewed constitutional attacks to firearms laws and regulations," and Congress may need to review or amend Section 922(g) for clarity or to align with the *Bruen* framework. < Back Courts Face Constitutional Challenges to Federal Gun Ban for Cannabis Users Jul 8, 2025 Source: Ben Adlin Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link The federal government’s long-standing ban on gun ownership for cannabis users is facing serious legal heat. A recent report from the Congressional Research Service highlights that more federal courts are finding constitutional issues with Section 922(g)(3), the statute that disarms anyone labeled an "unlawful user" of a controlled substance. This shift follows major Supreme Court rulings that demand gun laws align with the nation’s "historical tradition." The report specifically points to cases like U.S. v. Daniels, where an appeals court ruled the ban unconstitutional as applied to an occasional user. While the Department of Justice is still fighting to keep the restriction in place—often using "habitual" drug use as a justification—the growing divide in the courts has even the NRA noting the confusion. This is a massive development for the community because it challenges the unfair "second-class citizen" status many tokers face. For law-abiding enthusiasts who value their safety and their stash, these rulings offer hope that choosing cannabis won't automatically cost you your constitutional rights. It's a signal that the legal landscape is finally catching up to modern reality. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree. • Why Modern Tech and Hard Data Are the New Secret Sauce for Top-Shelf Consistency | Toker's Guide

The cannabis industry is shifting from a reliance on legacy intuition to a model defined by operational precision, data-driven technology, and standardized compliance to ensure product consistency at scale. This evolution integrates traditional craftsmanship with modern systems to meet rising regulatory standards and consumer expectations for reliability. < Back Why Modern Tech and Hard Data Are the New Secret Sauce for Top-Shelf Consistency May 11, 2026 Source: Ed Wells MG Magazine Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link The cannabis world is growing up fast, moving from the shadows of the legacy era into a high-tech future where data is just as important as a green thumb. For years, the best flower came from cultivators who relied on their senses—the smell of the room, the feel of the buds, and a deep, intuitive connection to the plant. While those instincts built the foundation of the culture we love, the industry is now shifting toward a model where precision and science take center stage to ensure that every jar you buy is as good as the last. This evolution matters because it’s all about consistency. In the old days, you might find a legendary batch one week and something completely different the next. Now, commercial growers are using advanced sensors and software to track everything from nutrient levels to terpene preservation during the curing process. By embracing these metrics, businesses can scale up without losing the soul of the craft. It means fewer surprises for you at the dispensary counter and more reliable experiences every time you spark up. For the everyday enthusiast, this tech-forward approach is a major win for accessibility and safety. It ensures that products meet strict testing standards for contaminants while hitting the exact potency and flavor profiles promised on the label. As the industry prepares for potential federal shifts, these professional systems are becoming the standard for the brands we trust most. Practical Tip: When you’re browsing your local shop, look for brands that provide QR codes on their packaging. These often link to detailed lab results and batch info, showing a commitment to the kind of transparency and data-driven quality that defines the modern scene. It’s a great way to ensure you’re getting a clean, high-performance product that honors the plant's history while utilizing the best of today’s technology. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Cookies & Alt Sol "Ridgeline Lantz" Strain Review - Takoma Wellness Center Ridgeline Lantz, cultivated by Alt Sol and currently available at Takoma Wellness Center, exudes an impressive pedigree.
