- Ohio Politicians Vote to Gut Voter-Approved Weed Protections and Cramp the Hemp Market | Toker's Guide
The Ohio House of Representatives passed a bill that significantly alters the state's voter-approved marijuana legalization law, removing consumer protections and adding restrictions to hemp products to align the cannabis sectors. The bill, passed 87-8, must return to the Senate for concurrence. Controversial provisions include eliminating anti-discrimination protections for lawful cannabis users (regarding child custody, organ transplants, and professional licensing), recriminalizing possession of cannabis bought outside state-licensed dispensaries (like from neighboring Michigan), banning smoking cannabis at outdoor public locations, and allowing landlords to prohibit vaping marijuana at rented homes. Advocates, like the Marijuana Policy Project, are concerned the bill contradicts the will of the voters. However, the House version directs cannabis tax revenue to local governments and also adds a $1.20 tax per gallon on hemp beverages. It also allows for the expungement of prior misdemeanor marijuana possession offenses without proving the specific amount of cannabis. < Back Ohio Politicians Vote to Gut Voter-Approved Weed Protections and Cramp the Hemp Market Oct 22, 2025 Source: Kyle Jaeger Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link The Ohio House just passed a bill that significantly tweaks the marijuana legalization rules voters approved back in 2023, and it’s a bit of a mixed bag for the community. While it’s not as harsh as the Senate’s original version, the new legislation removes key anti-discrimination protections for consumers regarding things like child custody and organ transplants. It also cracks down on "intoxicating hemp," moving most products to licensed dispensaries and adding a $1.20-per-gallon tax on hemp drinks. Most frustrating for border-town tokers? It would recriminalize possessing cannabis bought legally in neighboring states like Michigan. On the bright side, the House version keeps tax revenue with local governments and simplifies the expungement process for past misdemeanor possession charges. This is a massive deal for the industry because it shows how politicians are still trying to "wrangle" a law that voters already settled. For everyday users, it means your rights aren't set in stone yet. Staying informed and vocal is essential to ensure that the "will of the voters" isn't slowly chipped away by legislative compromises. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. - South Dakota Senate Rejects Debate on Banning Intoxicating Hemp and Kratom | Toker's Guide
The South Dakota Senate voted against discussing two separate bills that sought to ban intoxicating hemp-derived consumables and kratom, despite the bills being advanced out of a committee without a recommendation. Motions to place both bills on the Senate's calendar for debate failed, with the hemp ban debate rejected 19-14 and the kratom debate rejected 20-13. < Back South Dakota Senate Rejects Debate on Banning Intoxicating Hemp and Kratom Jan 24, 2026 Source: Marijuana Moment Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link South Dakota cannabis enthusiasts can breathe a sigh of relief for now. State senators recently blocked a push to debate two controversial bills that aimed to ban kratom and intoxicating hemp-derived products. While a committee had moved the proposals forward, they did so without a formal recommendation to pass, which triggered a procedural hurdle. In a victory for accessibility, the full Senate voted down motions to even place these bans on the calendar, effectively stalling the legislation. Proponents of the bills argued they were necessary for safety, but they couldn't gather enough support to move the needle. This is a major win for the local community. For many tokers and wellness seekers, hemp-derived cannabinoids and kratom are essential, accessible alternatives to traditional options. Seeing lawmakers reject a fast-track for prohibition shows that the push for a regulated, open market is gaining traction over "just say no" tactics. It’s a reminder that staying vocal and engaged helps protect the products we rely on from being swept away by sudden legislative shifts. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. GOP Committee Chair Wants To ‘Invalidate’ Biden’s Marijuana Pardons Through Autopen Investigation, Democratic Congressman Says < Back GOP Chair Seeks to Invalidate Biden’s Cannabis Pardons Jan 1, 2026 Source: Kyle Jaeger Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link It looks like a political tug-of-war is brewing over past cannabis pardons. Rep. Jerrold Nadler is sounding the alarm, accusing GOP Oversight Chair James Comer of trying to undo thousands of federal marijuana possession pardons issued by the previous administration. The drama centers on an investigation into the use of an autopen for signing executive orders, which some Republicans argue could make those clemency actions invalid. While Comer has acknowledged the racial biases in drug enforcement, he hasn’t signed onto more sweeping reform bills like the MORE Act, which would officially decriminalize at the federal level. This matters to the cannabis community because it highlights how fragile progress can be. Even after a pardon is granted, political shifts can threaten the fresh start many people have worked hard to achieve. For everyday tokers, it’s a reminder that while rescheduling is a step forward, true justice—like expunging records and ending criminal penalties—requires permanent legislative changes rather than just executive orders that can be scrutinized or reversed later. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. - Idaho Medical Cannabis Campaign Gathers Over 45,000 Signatures with Strong Polling | Toker's Guide
The Natural Medicine Alliance of Idaho (NMAI) has gathered over 45,000 signatures toward the 70,725 needed to place a medical marijuana legalization initiative on the November ballot, a reform supported by 83 percent of likely voters in a recent poll. The proposed Idaho Medical Cannabis Act would allow practitioners to recommend medical cannabis for conditions like cancer and anxiety, establish a limited dispensary market, and reclassify marijuana as a Schedule II controlled substance. < Back Idaho Medical Cannabis Campaign Gathers Over 45,000 Signatures with Strong Polling Feb 2, 2026 Source: Kyle Jaeger Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link The tide may finally be turning in Idaho, one of the last true holdouts against any form of legal weed. Local advocates with the Natural Medicine Alliance of Idaho have already secured over 45,000 signatures in their quest to land a medical marijuana initiative on this November's ballot. They need to hit roughly 71,000 to make it official, but with a whopping 83% of residents favoring legalization in recent polls, the momentum is undeniable. If passed, the Idaho Medical Cannabis Act would allow patients with conditions like chronic pain or anxiety to access limited dispensaries, moving the plant from a Schedule I to a Schedule II substance. This is a massive development for the community because it represents a shift toward compassion in a state known for its "tough on drugs" stance. For regular tokers and patients, this means the possibility of legal, tested medicine without the fear of heavy fines or jail time. While the lack of a home-grow option is a bummer, finally opening the door to a regulated market is a huge win for accessibility. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. - Florida GOP Lawmaker Files Public Smoking Ban Bill While Legalization Campaign Advances | Toker's Guide
A pro-legalization Florida lawmaker, Rep. Alex Andrade (R), introduced a bill to prohibit the public smoking and vaping of marijuana by incorporating cannabis into the state statute on public tobacco use. This is seen as a preemptive measure against criticism of broader legalization efforts. Meanwhile, the Smart & Safe Florida campaign is pursuing an adult-use legalization measure for the 2026 ballot after a 2024 attempt failed to meet the required 60% threshold. The campaign is currently involved in litigation against state officials for allegedly stalling the measure's review and attempting to invalidate voter signatures. Governor Ron DeSantis (R) opposes the constitutional amendment, predicting the state Supreme Court will block it, despite polls showing majority voter support. < Back Florida GOP Lawmaker Files Public Smoking Ban Bill While Legalization Campaign Advances Nov 10, 2025 Source: Kyle Jaeger Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Florida’s cannabis landscape is seeing some strategic maneuvering as Rep. Alex Andrade (R) has introduced a bill to officially ban public marijuana smoking and vaping. By aligning cannabis with existing public tobacco laws, this pro-reform lawmaker is basically trying to pull the rug out from under critics who claim legalization would lead to "Reefer Madness" in the streets. It’s a smart, proactive play to make adult-use more palatable as the Smart & Safe Florida campaign gears up for a 2026 ballot push. This matters to everyday tokers because it shows that even the pro-cannabis side is willing to accept common-sense rules to get the bigger win: full legalization. While nobody likes more restrictions, codifying "where" you can smoke might be the necessary compromise to finally end the "if" of prohibition in the Sunshine State. For the community, it’s a sign that the industry is maturing and looking for realistic paths toward broad accessibility, even if it means keeping the clouds confined to private spaces for now. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. - Massachusetts Approves Psychedelic Therapy Pilot Program | Toker's Guide
Massachusetts lawmakers have approved a bill to establish a pilot program for the regulated therapeutic use of psychedelics, which has advanced through the legislature's Joint Committee on Health Care Financing. The bill, S.1400, proposes a monitored mental health care program using psychedelic materials, administered on-site by a multi-disciplinary care team in supervised licensed mental health clinics. The Department of Public Health (DPH) would license up to three facilities to administer and study psychedelics, focusing on establishing best clinical practices and collecting patient outcome data for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorder. The bill specifies that eligible organizations must focus exclusively on mental health and cannot be affiliated with cannabis, psychedelic molecule development, or pharmaceutical companies. A separate, more limited psilocybin therapy bill will also be heard in November. This legislative effort follows local decriminalization initiatives and a rejected statewide ballot measure to legalize psychedelics. The state has also been active in cannabis policy, with discussions on consumption lounges, employment protections for consumers, and expanding medical cannabis qualifying conditions. < Back Massachusetts Approves Psychedelic Therapy Pilot Program Sep 12, 2025 Source: Kyle Jaeger Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Massachusetts lawmakers are making moves to explore the therapeutic potential of psychedelics, recently advancing a bill to create a regulated pilot program. This proposal, which just cleared a key joint committee, aims to license up to three mental health facilities to study and administer these substances in a supervised clinical environment. The focus is strictly on treating conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD, with a clear line drawn to keep big pharma and the cannabis industry separate from these specific pilot organizations. While voters previously turned down a broader legalization measure, this legislative shift shows that the state is still serious about alternative medicine. For the cannabis community, this is a major win because it signals a growing acceptance of plant-based and entheogenic therapies. As the lines between different natural medicines continue to blur, progress in the psychedelic space often paves the way for more progressive cannabis policies. It’s all about expanding our toolkit for wellness and proving that regulated, therapeutic access works. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. - AGLC Expands Cannabis Access at Public Events | Toker's Guide
The Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) is expanding cannabis access at public events, allowing sales at most concerts and festivals, even those where minors are present, provided sales and consumption occur in designated 18+ zones. This policy change allows licensed Alberta retailers to apply for temporary license extensions to sell cannabis at these events, a shift from previous restrictions to adults-only events. This move is seen as a significant step towards normalizing cannabis in Alberta, with retailers like Plantlife Cannabis and event organizers like Rockin’ Thunder and Country Thunder embracing the change, emphasizing responsible and compliant integration into major live events. < Back AGLC Expands Cannabis Access at Public Events Jul 17, 2025 Source: Mg Magazine Newswire MG Magazine Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link *EDMONTON, AB –* The Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) is expanding cannabis access at public events. Already the first and only province in Canada to permit cannabis sales at 18+ events, cannabis will soon be available at most concerts and festivals. “We see this as a natural evolution of where cannabis retail is headed,” said Ian Scott, VP Operations, Plantlife Cannabis. “Festivals bring together a wide range of Albertans — and by operating in designated 18+ zones with transparency, education, and full compliance, we’re showing how cannabis can responsibly exist in the same spaces as beer gardens or food trucks. We’re proud to be leading this shift.” What the New Policy Means “Effective immediately, cannabis store licensees may apply to AGLC for an extension of their licence to temporarily sell cannabis at events and festivals where minors are permitted. Sales shall only occur in designated areas of the event or festival where minors are prohibited.” Until now, cannabis sales were restricted to adults-only (18+) events. Retailers could sell cannabis only with a temporary license extension from the AGLC, and sales could not occur within designated consumption areas. Under the updated rules: - Cannabis may be sold at events where minors are present, if restricted to 18+ zones. - Consumption areas remain separate and 18+ only. - Only licensed Alberta retailers can apply for these special permits. The change opens the door for a more inclusive, regulated cannabis presence at Alberta’s top music and cultural festivals. “This is a huge step for the normalization of cannabis in Alberta,” said Marcie Kiziak, President of Retail, Plantlife Cannabis. “We’ve been preparing behind the scenes, and our team is ready to operate responsibly, visibly, and in full compliance at a new kind of cultural event.” “We’re proud to share that this past weekend’s festival marked a successful step forward in integrating legalized cannabis into the live music experience. Our on-site cannabis sales were handled with the highest standards of compliance and responsibility, working closely with regulators to ensure a safe and seamless guest experience,” said Gerry Krochak, Director of Corporate Partnerships, Rockin’ Thunder and Country Thunder. “The feedback from festival goers was overwhelmingly positive — guests appreciated the convenience and atmosphere, and we saw respectful, responsible enjoyment throughout the weekend. We’re excited about the future of enhancing festival culture in a thoughtful and progressive way. We’re also happy to have this partnership lined up for our Country Thunder event in Calgary this August.” “This was a historic moment — we’re proud to be the first retailer in Canada to offer legal cannabis sales at an all-ages event. Through careful planning, designated consumption areas, and clear separation from minors, we demonstrated that cannabis can be safely and responsibly integrated into major live events. This sets a new benchmark for what’s possible in the evolving entertainment and cannabis landscapes,” said Scott. Note on Compliance All sales and promotional activity are conducted in alignment with the Cannabis Act and AGLC regulations. No cannabis is sold or consumed in the presence of minors. Branded materials are factual, non-glamorized, and focused on responsible access. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. - Missouri Tightens the Reins as New Law Syncs State Hemp Rules with Federal Standards | Toker's Guide
Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe signed the Intoxicating Cannabinoid Control Act to regulate hemp-derived products and align state definitions with new federal rules that criminalize hemp-derived THC. The law requires non-licensed entities to stop selling these products and strengthens privacy protections for cannabis consumers. < Back Missouri Tightens the Reins as New Law Syncs State Hemp Rules with Federal Standards Apr 27, 2026 Source: TG Branfalt Ganjapreneur Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Big changes are coming to Missouri’s cannabis landscape, and if you enjoy hemp-derived goodies, you’ll want to pay close attention. Governor Mike Kehoe recently put pen to paper on the Intoxicating Cannabinoid Control Act, a move designed to bring the Show-Me State in line with strict new federal standards. This means the days of finding potent hemp-derived THC products at your local gas station or smoke shop are coming to an end. Starting this November, the state is tightening the reins by redefining what counts as hemp. Essentially, any product intended to get you lifted will now fall under the same rigorous oversight as the legal marijuana market. For enthusiasts, this is actually a win for safety and transparency. We’ve all seen those sketchy, knock-off gummies that look a little too much like regular candy. This law aims to clear those off the shelves, ensuring that whatever you consume is tested, regulated, and kept out of the hands of kids. What does this mean for your shopping habits? If a business doesn’t have a specific cannabis license, they’ll have to stop selling these intoxicating hemp products entirely. You’ll likely need to head to a licensed dispensary to find your favorites, where you can trust the quality and potency labels. Speaking of dispensaries, there’s a great silver lining for privacy: the new law strictly forbids shops from keeping or sharing your personal info without your written go-ahead. While it might feel like a bummer to see some options disappear from convenience stores, shifting toward a more professional, regulated industry helps protect the community we love. It’s all about making sure our access remains safe and high-quality. If you’re worried about your favorite stash running low, now is the time to start chatting with your local budtenders about transitioning to regulated alternatives. - Fuego Banana Strain — Effects, THC %, Lineage & Reviews | Toker's Guide
Everything about Fuego Banana: effects, typical THC, lineage, and terpenes — plus hands-on product reviews and bud photos from Toker's Guide's DMV experts. < Back Fuego Banana Strain Review Type Hybrid THC % 19% Dominant Terpene Energy NA Unknown Overview Fuego Banana is an indica-dominant hybrid marijuana strain known for its potent effects and a flavor profile that lives up to its name. A cross between Banana OG and an undisclosed "Fuego" lineage, this strain is favored by those seeking a heavy-hitting experience with a tropical twist. Effects Fuego Banana is a potent indica-dominant strain known for its fast-acting "creeper" effect, starting with a gentle cerebral lift that transitions into profound full-body relaxation and sedative "couch-lock" qualities. This makes it an ideal low-energy or "nightcap" strain for experienced users looking to unwind and manage insomnia. Its therapeutic profile is highly effective for treating chronic pain, muscle spasms, and stress due to its high THC content and the presence of caryophyllene, which offers anti-inflammatory benefits. The strain's complex terpene profile also includes myrcene, which contributes to its earthy base and relaxing nature, and limonene, which provides bright citrus notes and potential mood-elevating effects. Together, these elements create a heavy-hitting experience characterized by tropical sweetness and deep physical sedation. They are often accented by thin orange pistils and coated in a generous layer of sticky, amber-tinted trichomes, giving the flower a slightly golden, resinous glow. Aroma As the name suggests, the aroma is heavily defined by overripe bananas and sweet tropical fruit. This primary scent is balanced by deep, earthy undertones and a subtle peppery spice that becomes more prominent when the buds are broken apart. Flavor The taste mirrors the aroma, offering a smooth smoke that tastes like sweet, creamy banana bread. On the exhale, users often notice a lingering dankness with hints of herbal spice and a touch of fuel, characteristic of its OG heritage. Lineage Fuego Banana is a descendant of the famous Banana OG (Ghost OG x Sagarmartha's 60/40 Banana pheno). While the exact "Fuego" parent is often kept proprietary by breeders, the resulting genetic mix leans heavily toward the indica side, focusing on high resin production and sedative properties. Terpene Profile - Limonene: Provides the bright, citrusy notes and potential mood-elevating effects. - Myrcene: Contributes to the herbal, earthy base and the strain's relaxing, "couch-lock" qualities. - Caryophyllene: Adds a spicy, peppery kick and may offer anti-inflammatory benefits.Effects Fuego Banana is known for a fast-acting "creeper" effect. It begins with a gentle cerebral lift that melts away stress, quickly transitioning into a profound full-body relaxation. Due to its high THC content, it is frequently used to manage chronic pain, muscle spasms, and insomnia. Cultivation Preferences This strain thrives in both indoor and outdoor environments, though it prefers a controlled, warm climate. - Flowering Time: Approximately 8 to 9 weeks. - Yield: Moderate to high. - Maintenance: Growers should monitor humidity levels closely due to the density of the buds to prevent mold. It responds well to topping and low-stress training (LST).Origin Fuego Banana originated in the United States, emerging from the West Coast breeding scene where OG Kush variants are frequently crossed to enhance fruit profiles and potency. Seed Suppliers Seeds or clones of Fuego Banana can occasionally be found through specialty boutiques and seed banks such as Black Market Genetics or through California-based nurseries. Conclusion Fuego Banana is a top-tier choice for enthusiasts who enjoy dessert-like flavors paired with heavy indica effects. Its combination of tropical sweetness and potent physical sedation makes it an ideal "nightcap" strain for experienced users looking to unwind. Previous Next
