- Mississippi House Passes Medical Cannabis Reforms Including ID Extensions, ‘Right to Try’ Provisions | Toker's Guide
The Mississippi House passed two medical cannabis bills: one extends patient ID validity from one to two years, removes mandatory 6-month follow-up visits, and increases caregiver card validity up to five years; the second, a "right to try" bill, allows patients with non-qualifying debilitating conditions to petition for medical cannabis use on a case-by-case basis. Both bills now advance to the Senate. < Back Mississippi House Passes Medical Cannabis Reforms Including ID Extensions, ‘Right to Try’ Provisions Feb 12, 2026 Source: TG Branfalt Ganjapreneur Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Mississippi’s House this week passed a bill to extend the timeframe for medical cannabis patients to keep their program IDs valid, and another allowing the ‘right to try’ medical cannabis for patients who are suffering from debilitating medical conditions that are not included on the state’s qualifying conditions list, the Magnolia Tribune reports. The bill extending the life of a medical cannabis program ID card extends the validity period of the certification from one to two years. Under current law, patients are required to make a 6-month follow-up visit with their provider, but the bill would eliminate those requirements if it becomes law. Republican state Rep. Lee Yancey, the bill’s sponsor, told the Tribune that the bill “can still require the patient to come back as often as necessary” but removes the “mandatory” language included in the current law. The bill also increases the resident-designated caregiver’s validity to fill medical cannabis recommendations for those they care for to up to five years. “These are folks who are caring for someone who cannot or is not able to come to the dispensary themselves. Currently, they had to get a background check and they’re having to get a card every year, where the background is lasting a lot longer than the card. This makes it consistent.” — Yancey to the Tribune The bill passed the House with a vote of 98-11. Yancey was also the author of the ‘right to try’ legislation, which would create a petition system for potential patients through the Mississippi State Department of Health on a case-by-case basis. “They would have had to have tried everything else. There would have to be documented evidence of everything that they’ve tried,” Yancey told the Tribune. “And the state health officer could allow, on a case-by-case basis, this one individual to try medical cannabis. And it would not open the door for any other person; it’s just on a case-by-case basis.” The proposal would require these patients undergo a re-evaluation every year. The bill passed the House 104-7. Both bills move next to the Senate for consideration. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. - Massachusetts Lawmakers Weighing Up New Paths for Psychedelic Therapy Access | Toker's Guide
The Massachusetts legislature's Joint Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery heard testimony on two competing legislative proposals for psychedelic-assisted therapy pilot programs: H.2203 (broad psilocybin access) and H.4200 (narrower pilot covering compounds like MDMA or ibogaine in licensed facilities). Key figures like state Rep. James O’Day (sponsor of H.4200) and Dr. Franklin King of MGH testified, with King favoring H.4200 as the most feasible path forward. Advocacy groups and stakeholders debated the scope of reform, with some opposing broader decriminalization. Lobbying efforts for psychedelic policy in Massachusetts remain robust in 2025, with increased spending by some organizations like Compass Pathways and new interest from the health care sector, including Health New England, Inc. and the Massachusetts Association of Health Plans. < Back Massachusetts Lawmakers Weighing Up New Paths for Psychedelic Therapy Access Nov 18, 2025 Source: Marijuana Moment Marijuana Moment Article Link Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Massachusetts is once again at the forefront of plant medicine reform as lawmakers recently weighed two major proposals for psychedelic-assisted therapy. One bill, H.2203, aims for broad psilocybin access, while H.4200 suggests a tighter pilot program featuring compounds like MDMA and ibogaine in clinical settings. The vibe at the hearing was one of cautious progress, with experts and advocates arguing that the state is falling behind places like Oregon and Colorado. While there’s some friction over whether to go full decriminalization or stick to medical pilots, the momentum is undeniable. Even the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society has jumped on board, marking a historic shift in medical endorsements. For the everyday cannabis community, this is a massive deal. It proves that the "compassion-first" model we fought for with weed is successfully paving the way for other natural medicines. As barriers fall, it means more safe, regulated options for healing and wellness. This evolution shows that the culture of accessibility is winning, ensuring that those who need these therapies won't have to look over their shoulders to find relief. < Previous Next > Recent Reviews Bomb Popz Infused Pre-Roll - Fade Co. Aroma The scent profile of Castle is characterized by a deep, earthy base with distinct notes of pine and damp soil. When broken apart, the buds may release a slightly sweet and spicy herbal fragrance. Flavor Upon consumption, Castle offers a robust flavor dominated by woody and herbal notes. Users often report a smooth smoke with a lingering peppery or nutty aftertaste on the exhale. Lineage The exact lineage of Castle is not widely documented, though it is recognized as a hybrid variety. It is believed to stem from traditional landrace influences or established hybrid parents that contribute to its earthy terpene profile. Terpene Profile - Myrcene: The primary terpene, contributing to the strain's earthy scent and relaxing properties. - Pinene: Provides the sharp pine aroma and may help with alertness. - Caryophyllene: Adds a spicy, peppery kick and potential anti-inflammatory benefits.Effects Castle is known for delivering a mellow and functional high. Users often experience an initial wave of cerebral clarity and mood elevation, which gradually transitions into a gentle physical relaxation that does not typically result in heavy sedation. Cultivation Preferences Castle is considered a hardy strain suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation. - Flowering Time: Approximately 8 to 9 weeks. - Yield: Moderate, with plants benefiting from regular pruning to improve airflow. - Climate: Prefers a stable, temperate environment with controlled humidity levels.Origin The specific origin and original breeder of Castle are largely unknown, though it has gained a presence in various North American dispensaries as a reliable hybrid option. Seed Suppliers Due to its rarity, seeds for the specific Castle strain may be difficult to find. Interested growers may look toward boutique seed banks or specialized nurseries that carry obscure hybrid genetics. Conclusion Castle is an understated hybrid that appeals to those who appreciate classic earthy flavors and a balanced, manageable effect. While less famous than some of its counterparts, it remains a solid choice for evening relaxation or low-stress social gatherings. Previous Next
- Lime OG Strain — Effects, THC %, Lineage & Reviews | Toker's Guide
Everything about Lime OG: effects, typical THC, lineage, and terpenes — plus hands-on product reviews and bud photos from Toker's Guide's DMV experts. < Back Lime OG Strain Review Type Hybrid THC % 22% Dominant Terpene Energy Myrcene Relaxed, Happy Overview Lime OG, also known as Lime Kush, is an indica-dominant hybrid crafted by Exotic Genetix. This strain is celebrated for its refreshing citrus profile and its ability to provide a balanced, functional high that transitions into deep relaxation. Effects Lime OG is an indica-dominant hybrid that offers a balanced experience, beginning with a clear-headed, cerebral buzz that boosts mood and creativity, making it suitable for moderate energy levels and daytime use. As the high progresses, it transitions into a soothing body stone that relieves tension and physical stress without causing immediate couch-lock. This strain is particularly effective for medical patients seeking relief from minor aches, chronic stress, and anxiety. Its complex terpene profile is led by limonene, which provides intense citrus notes and mood-elevating properties; myrcene, which contributes to its relaxing, sedative finish; and caryophyllene, which adds a spicy undertone and may assist with anti-inflammatory benefits. Together, these elements make Lime OG a versatile choice for those needing functional mental clarity followed by deep physical tranquility. A thick coating of translucent trichomes gives the flower a sticky, glistening appearance, hinting at its potency and rich resin content. Aroma As the name suggests, Lime OG is defined by a sharp, pungent aroma of fresh lime. This citrus dominance is layered with sweet candy-like notes and a subtle, earthy pine undertone that becomes more apparent when the buds are broken apart. Flavor The flavor mirrors its scent, offering a burst of tart lime and sour citrus on the inhale. On the exhale, users often notice a smooth, sweet finish reminiscent of lime gummies, grounded by a classic OG kush earthiness. Lineage This cultivar is a direct cross between Lime Skunk and Triple OG. The Lime Skunk mother contributes the zesty terpene profile and clear-headed sativa energy, while the Triple OG father provides the heavy-hitting indica structure and calming physical effects. Terpene Profile - Limonene: The primary terpene responsible for the intense citrus aroma and mood-elevating properties. - Myrcene: Provides herbal notes and contributes to the strain's relaxing, sedative finish. - Caryophyllene: Adds a touch of spice and may assist with anti-inflammatory benefits.Effects Lime OG offers a "best of both worlds" experience. Cultivation Preferences Lime OG is considered a moderately easy strain to grow, favoring a controlled indoor environment or a warm, Mediterranean outdoor climate. - Flowering Time: Approximately 8 to 9 weeks. - Yield: Moderate to high, depending on training techniques like topping or SCROG. - Height: It tends to stay medium in height with sturdy lateral branching.Origin The strain was originated in the United States by Washington-based breeders Exotic Genetix, a group renowned for winning multiple High Times Cannabis Cups. Seed Suppliers Authentic Lime OG seeds can be sourced directly through Exotic Genetix distributors, though availability may vary. Feminized and regular seeds are often found through reputable seed banks like Neptune Seed Bank or Seedsman. Conclusion Lime OG stands out as a top-tier choice for those who enjoy dessert-like citrus strains. Its unique ability to provide a functional mental lift followed by physical tranquility makes it a versatile option for both recreational users and medical patients seeking relief from stress and minor aches.
