Overview
Jolt is a potent hybrid marijuana strain created by crossing the legendary landrace Vietnam Black with the popular, dessert-like Gushers. This combination results in a unique cultivar that balances intense cerebral stimulation with a smooth, relaxing finish.
Effects
Jolt provides a dynamic experience that begins with an immediate surge of mental energy and euphoria, making it an excellent choice for creative tasks or social engagement. This initial "jolt" of energy eventually transitions into a soothing physical relaxation that spreads through the body without causing heavy sedation. Its terpene profile is led by caryophyllene, which contributes anti-inflammatory effects; limonene, which helps elevate mood and reduce stress; and myrcene, which aids in physical relaxation. These properties make Jolt particularly effective for managing fatigue, mood swings, and minor physical discomfort or inflammation. Ultimately, it offers a versatile high that balances old-school sativa vigor with modern physical tranquility.

Appearance
The buds of Jolt are typically dense and elongated, reflecting its sativa lineage from Vietnam Black. The flowers are a vibrant forest green with deep purple undertones inherited from Gushers, all wrapped in a thick blanket of silvery-white trichomes and fiery orange pistils.
Aroma
Jolt features a complex and pungent aromatic profile. It leads with a sharp, woody, and earthy scent reminiscent of classic Thai sticks, followed by a heavy gas note and a sweet, tropical fruitiness that lingers in the air.
Flavor
On the inhale, users experience a robust spicy and peppery flavor with hints of sandalwood. The exhale reveals the Gushers influence, offering a creamy, grape-like sweetness and a touch of sour citrus.
Lineage
Jolt is a genetic cross between Vietnam Black (a rare sativa landrace) and Gushers (a cross of Gelato \#41 and Triangle Kush). This pairing blends old-school landrace vigor with modern, resin-heavy "Exotic" genetics.
Terpene Profile
- Caryophyllene: Provides a spicy, peppery kick and contributes to anti-inflammatory effects.
- Limonene: Adds a bright citrus note and helps elevate mood.
- Myrcene: Offers earthy undertones and aids in physical relaxation.Effects
The effects of Jolt are characterized by an immediate "jolt" of mental energy and euphoria, making it excellent for creative tasks or social engagement. As the high progresses, a soothing physical relaxation spreads through the body, courtesy of its Kush ancestry, without causing heavy sedation.
Cultivation Preferences
Jolt is considered a moderately difficult strain to grow due to the lanky growth patterns of Vietnam Black. - Flowering Time: Approximately 9 to 11 weeks.
- Environment: Prefers a warm, humid climate similar to Southeast Asia but requires careful humidity control during late flower to prevent mold in its dense buds.
- Training: Responds well to topping and LST (Low Stress Training) to manage its height and increase yields.Origin
Jolt was developed in the United States by breeders looking to revitalize rare landrace genetics by crossing them with high-THC, flavor-forward modern hybrids.
Seed Suppliers
Authentic Jolt genetics can occasionally be found through specialty breeders and seed banks such as Purple City Genetics or through select West Coast nurseries specializing in landrace crosses.
Conclusion
Jolt is an exceptional choice for connoisseurs who appreciate the history of landrace sativas but desire the bag appeal and flavor of modern hybrids. It offers a versatile high that starts with a spark of energy and ends in total tranquility.
