Overview
Mars OG is a potent, "spacey" indica-dominant hybrid that has earned a reputation for its powerful sedative properties and unique cultivation history. Originating from the California Bay Area, it is a prominent member of the "Planetary" series of strains, characterized by a specific growing method where plants begin their life cycle indoors before being moved outdoors to finish under natural light and environmental conditions.
Effects
Mars OG is a potent indica-dominant hybrid celebrated for delivering a heavy-handed body buzz and fast-acting cerebral relaxation that quickly transitions into a deep, weighted physical stone. Due to its powerful sedative properties, it is a premier choice for nighttime use or low-energy activities, as it almost inevitably leads to deep sleep. This strain is highly effective for managing physical ailments such as chronic pain and muscle tension, while also providing significant relief from stress and insomnia. Its terpene profile is led by myrcene, which contributes to its herbal aroma and profound calming effects; limonene, which adds a subtle citrus undertone to help balance the mood; and caryophyllene, which provides a touch of spice and may assist with physical pain-relieving properties. Combined, these characteristics make Mars OG a quintessential "knockout" strain for those seeking reliable solution for physical discomfort and sleeplessness.

Aroma
Mars OG is known for a pungent and heavy scent. It carries a classic OG profile dominated by earthy, damp soil notes and a sharp, chemical-like diesel musk that fills a room quickly.
Flavor
The taste is hearty and thick, offering a robust blend of pine and spice on the inhale. On the exhale, users often notice a lingering woody flavor with subtle hints of sweet citrus and a savory, hash-like finish.

While its exact genetics are sometimes debated, Mars OG is widely believed to be a phenotype of the classic OG Kush. Its planetary designation refers specifically to its unique transitional growing process rather than its parental crosses.
