Overview
Sour Sunset is a premium hybrid cannabis strain developed by Crockett Family Farms in affiliation with DNA Genetics. By crossing the legendary clone-only AJ’s Sour Diesel with a Secret Sherbet male, breeders created a high-potency cultivar that typically leans 60% indica. It is celebrated for its exceptional terpene production, high yields, and impressive bag appeal.
Effects
Sour Sunset delivers a potent and well-rounded experience characterized by an initial burst of cerebral euphoria and creative energy that gradually transitions into a relaxing, weighted body high. With THC levels often exceeding 20%, this 60% indica-leaning hybrid is highly effective for managing stress, depression, and minor physical aches without inducing excessive sedation. Its complex terpene profile features limonene for mood elevation, myrcene for physical relaxation, caryophyllene for its anti-inflammatory properties, and linalool for its calming, sedative effects. This combination of attributes makes Sour Sunset a versatile choice for users seeking both mental stimulation and physical relief.

Appearance
This strain produces dense, medium-to-large buds that often exhibit a vibrant array of colors, including lime greens and deep purple hues. The flowers are typically frosted with a thick layer of crystalline trichomes and accented by bright orange pistils, giving them a shimmering, high-end look.
Aroma
Sour Sunset lives up to its name with a pungent and complex scent. It is defined by a sharp, sour diesel fuel aroma inherited from its East Coast Sour Diesel lineage, balanced by sweet, creamy, and fruity undertones from the Secret Sherbet parent.
Flavor
The flavor profile is equally layered, offering a tangy citrus and gassy inhale that transitions into a smooth, sugary, and slightly doughy exhale. Notes of berries and tropical fruit often linger on the palate.
Lineage
The strain is a genetic cross between AJ’s Sour Diesel (a renowned Sour Diesel phenotype) and Secret Sherbet (a proprietary sunset-inspired male). This pairing blends the soaring energy of diesel genetics with the relaxing, dessert-like qualities of the Sherbet family.
