Marijuana Moment

The stigma around cannabis is fading fast, and sports fans are here for it. A recent survey of 1,000 adults in legal states reveals that a majority of fans across major leagues—including the NFL, NBA, and MLB—support cannabis brands sponsoring their favorite teams. While CBD partnerships received the warmest welcome, with MLS and UFC fans leading the charge, there was surprisingly little pushback against THC-based sponsorships either.

This shift matches the trend of major leagues loosening their own player policies. The NFL and NCAA have already started raising THC thresholds and removing marijuana from banned substance lists. We are seeing early moves like the Brooklyn Nets and Chicago Cubs partnering with CBD beverage companies, signaling a new era of mainstream acceptance.

For the everyday toker, this is a massive win for normalization. When massive leagues embrace the plant, it validates our lifestyle and pushes the industry toward better accessibility. Seeing cannabis brands alongside major household names means the culture is finally stepping out of the shadows and onto the center stage.
