  • Brownie Scout by Rythm - RISE, Lynchburg (VA Medical)

Strain : Brownie Scout Dispensary : RISE Service Type : VA Medical Overall Rating : 9/10 Lean : Indica Dominant Initial Thoughts This was my first encounter with Rythm flower and I found myself filled with eager anticipation. Rythm has a reputation for quality and this jar of Brownie Scout, once I opened it up, was certainly no exception. It's currently available at RISE dispensary in Lynchburg, VA and various others throughout the state. With a nose that resembles cocoa and some super frosty buds you don't need a merit badge to know that these buds will do the trick. Appearance Rotund light green and purple flecked buds with tons of frosty white and starry trichomes everywhere. Status Fresh, but beginning to cure. Aroma A cocoa aroma but closer to the smell of raw cocoa and not as sweet as a bar of chocolate. Also, floral and earthy notes with hints of fuel. Flavor A cocoa-forward flavor profile infused with subtle notes of spiciness, diesel, and mocha. Lineage The Brownie Scout strain is a cross of Platinum Girl Scout Cookies and Kosher Kush that runs indica dominant at 70/30. Effects Brownie Scout's effects made an assertive entrance, hitting with intensity. A sense of elation and giggles washed over me, creating a hazy mental environment making it difficult to get around. As time passed, the sedative qualities of Brownie Scout became increasingly evident. The heaviness evolved into a relaxed drowsiness and eventually a restful slumber. Even though this strain hit me like a truck, I still woke up the next morning feeling recharged. Conclusion RISE has been making substantial strides that should make other operators in the state take note. Not only have they recently opened their sixth store in Virginia, but the quality of their offerings is unmistakably on the...rise. Brownie Scout, in particular, is a testament to their commitment to quality. It marks a significant leap from their &Shine line, which left me with mixed impressions. Any reservations I had when first trying &Shine have now been dispelled, and I'm psyched to try more Rythm harvests in the near future. Head on into a RISE location ASAP to pick up some delectably potent Brownie Scout for yourself. When you're there don’t forget to mention that Toker’s Guide sent you!

  • Frolic Live Rosin - gLeaf, Manchester (VA Medical)

Strain : Frolic Dispensary: gLeaf - Manchester, VA Market: VA Medical Cannabis Overall Rating: 8.7/10 Lean: Sativa Initial Thoughts Scoring a gram of Frolic Live Rosin  by Amber at gLeaf Dispensary in Manchester, Virginia, felt like hitting the concentrate jackpot on a quiet afternoon run. As someone who's chased premium solventless hashes across the state, I was drawn to this sativa offering's amber-hued jar and promising specs. Back home, twisting open the lid revealed a creamy, badder-like texture in pale golden tones—wet and whippy, with a frolic-some  sparkle that screamed fresh-pressed quality. Appearance This live rosin shines with a light amber color, smooth and creamy like fresh-churned butter, dotted with tiny bubbles from the press. It's not overly saucy but spreads easily, holding shape with a glossy sheen that hints at high terpene retention. The texture is inviting—soft, pliable, and clean, making it a joy to handle on a cold plate. Status Fresh Aroma The nose is a terpene powerhouse: dominant limonene (0.79%) bursts with bright citrus zest, backed by humulene (1.17%) for earthy spice and beta-caryophyllene (3.3%) adding peppery bite. Beta-myrcene (0.06%) and linalool (0.5%) weave in subtle herbal depth, with alpha-pinene (0.11%) and beta-pinene (0.17%) delivering crisp pine notes. It's a lively, uplifting scent—zesty and invigorating, perfect for a sativa lean. Flavor Dabbing low-temp brings pure citrus-forward bliss: limonene shines with lemon-lime punch, layered over humulene's woody earth and caryophyllene's spicy kick. Subtle pine from the pinenes lingers mid-hit, while linalool adds a faint floral smoothness on the exhale. The flavor is clean and expansive, evolving with each pull—no harshness, just vibrant, terpy satisfaction that dances on the palate. Lineage Frolic is a sativa classified here, likely drawing from citrus-heavy, uplifting genetics to match its dominant limonene and humulene profile. While exact parents aren't widely documented, the terpene stack suggests influences from zesty sativas with earthy spice—think lines that prioritize bright, energetic expression. Amber's fresh-frozen process preserves that lively character beautifully. Effects This rosin delivers a classic sativa surge: quick cerebral uplift sparks focus and euphoria, ideal for daytime tasks or creative flow in Manchester's chill vibe. The high builds happily, with calming edges from linalool and caryophyllene easing any edge without heaviness. At 70.48% THC (and robust THCA), it's potent yet clear-headed, lasting 1-2 hours with a smooth comedown—great for motivation without overload. Conclusion Frolic Live Rosin from Amber at gLeaf is a citrus-spiked solventless standout—creamy texture, explosive terps led by limonene and humulene, and a focused, uplifting high that captures sativa essence. It's a premium dab that justifies the grab for terpene chasers seeking bright, functional vibes. gLeaf's Manchester spot keeps the selection solid, but this rosin frolics  ahead as a lively, flavorful win worth repeating.
