Marijuana Moment
President Donald Trump has officially signed an executive order to move cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III, and the response from the community is massive. This bipartisan shift finally acknowledges the medical benefits of the plant on a federal level, effectively ending the outdated reefer madness era. While this doesn't mean full legalization, it’s a huge win for the industry because it clears the way for legitimate research and removes the crushing 280E tax burden that has hindered small businesses for years. The order also includes a win for the hemp industry, directing officials to protect access to CBD products and keep them on the shelves.
For everyday tokers, this is a major milestone because it starts to break down the federal stigma and could lead to more affordable prices as businesses save on taxes. It also signals that more significant reforms, like better banking and decriminalization, are finally within reach. While we still need to push for full descheduling to protect everyone from federal overreach, this move is a historic step toward a more accessible and fair cannabis culture.
