Initial Thoughts
By now, Super Boof needs no introduction. Since exploding into 2024's Strain of the Year, it's been damn near impossible to walk into a dispensary without seeing it on the menu — the citrus-and-dark-fruit darling that every grower suddenly had to have. But ubiquity is a double-edged sword: when a cultivar gets this popular this fast, quality and authenticity start to vary wildly from batch to batch and grower to grower. For every jar that captures the original San Diego cut's magic, there are three chasing the hype with pale, terp-thin imitations. So the real question was never whether GrowHealthy would carry Super Boof — everyone does — but whether their Vault-line rendition would honor the strain or just ride its coattails. Happily, this one's the real deal.
Appearance
The buds arrive dense, well-cured, and dressed for the occasion — deep forest greens shot through with the occasional plum-tinged shadow, the kind of coloring that hints at the Black Cherry Punch side of the family without shouting about it. Trichome coverage is generous and frosty, giving the nugs that faintly sugar-dusted look that photographs well and grinds even better. The trim is tidy, the structure is chunky rather than wispy, and there's a satisfying tackiness when you break one down. It looks, in short, like flower that respects itself.

Aroma
Crack the jar and the citrus arrives first — bright, zesty orange-forward Trop Cookies energy that reads like someone zested a tangerine over a candle. A beat later the darker notes roll in: ripe black cherry, a whisper of gassy sweetness, and that peppery caryophyllene undercurrent that gives the whole bouquet some backbone. It's loud without being obnoxious, complex without being confused. The nose alone does more to justify the "flavor-forward" reputation than most strains manage in their entire flavor profile.
Flavor
This is where GrowHealthy's version separates itself from the pack of pretenders. The inhale is all sun-ripened citrus and sweet cherry, a genuinely dessert-like combination that leans into its lineage without tasting artificial. The exhale brings a subtle gassy-spicy finish — the caryophyllene and limonene shaking hands on the way out — that keeps the sweetness from tipping into cloying. It's smooth, it lingers pleasantly, and it delivers on the promise the aroma makes, which is more than you can say for the terp-thin knockoffs riding this strain's good name.

Effects
At 25.4% THC with a robust 1.06% terpene load led by beta-caryophyllene, beta-myrcene, and limonene, Super Boof lands exactly where a well-built hybrid should: balanced. The onset is a bright, cheerful head-lift — calm and happy with a legitimately energetic spark — that makes it a capable daytime companion for creative work, chores you've been avoiding, or conversation you actually want to participate in. Underneath runs a gentle, relaxed body ease that keeps things grounded without dragging you toward the couch. It's sociable, functional, and pleasantly uplifting, the kind of high that flatters your afternoon rather than ending it.
The Verdict
Everyone and their brother is selling Super Boof right now, but not every jar earns the name. GrowHealthy's Vault version is a well-grown, terp-rich, flavor-forward take that honors the original cut's Strain of the Year pedigree — vivid citrus-cherry flavor, a balanced and genuinely usable high, and bag appeal to match. At $45 for an eighth it sits at the premium end, but the quality is here to back it up. If you've been burned by a lackluster Boof or two (and at this point, who hasn't?), this is the one to restore your faith.
