- Forbidden Fruit - Treehouse DC
Initial Thoughts As a Christian, it's challenging for me to see the name "Forbidden Fruit" and still want to be associated with said item. However, given that the name marijuana is the combination of Mary and John - and not to mention all of the plant's super beneficial qualities - I'm inclined to believe that cannabis should be supported by Christian beliefs and that the only entities forbidding it have ulterior motives (Hello big pharma! I see you). So in this case, it's kind of like the name "Forbidden Fruit" is a way of thumbing one's nose at said evil entities (governments included) and partaking in a beautiful gift from God. (steps down from pulpit) Now then, this particular batch of Forbidden Fruit currently available from DC i-71 marijuana dispensary, Treehouse DC, is one of the best examples of this strain that i've seen in recent memory. The nose, in particular, is scrumptious and the coloration is quite...you might say...immaculate as well. Appearance Rotund and supple dark purple buds with bright fiery orange pistils. Status Fresh. Aroma Deliciously citrus like an orange with hints of shortbread and lime. Flavor Much like the aroma it's heavy on the citrus and has the essence of something like cookie dough in the exhale. Lineage The Forbidden Fruit strain is a cross of Tangie and Cherry Pie that runs indica dominant at 70/30. Effects Despite the Tangie in the lineage this one is deeply stoning with loads of euphoric feels. It is mood enhancing in a calming and cheery way - fully capable of bringing on some "perma-grin" - but if you go too far expect to be locked on your couch for a while. Great for lazy afternoons or evenings it's known to promote rest, rejuvenation, and can definitely increase appetite. Conclusion Overall, this is a marvelous batch of Forbidden Fruit that has the looks, mouthwatering flavor, and powerhouse indica effects that will have indica lovers drooling with joy. Regardless of your own religious affiliation, as far as I'm concerned the only thing that should be forbidden about this fruit is not growing it with this level of quality and care. To pick up some for yourself, and thumb your nose at the "man", just head to Treehouse DC today and don’t forget to mention that Toker’s Guide sent you!
- Zero Gravity - Violet City DC
Initial Thoughts I had not encountered this Zero Gravity strain, currently available from DC i-71 marijuana delivery service, Violet City, before, but when I caught my first glimpse I was psyched to give it a try. Not only were the buds quite visually appealing, but I was also enticed to experience the effects implied by the name. Would this feel like going weightless right here on earth? Would I need to put on my space suit? Read on to find out. 👨🚀 Appearance Green and purple buds with lots of white and starry trichomes. Status Beginning to cure. Aroma Creamy, spicy, and peppery with hints of fuel and earth. Flavor Much like a Gelato with notes of cream, bread, and hints of fuel. Lineage The Zero Gravity strain is a cross of Hash Plant and Northern Lights that runs slightly indica dominant at 60/40. Effects Being only a slightly indica leaning hybrid I expected the effects to be quite balanced, and this was a correct assumption. The high comes on as a heady tingle much like wearing a headband, but soon these tingles spread to the rest of the body creating a light feeling. It was spacey cerebrally and energetic levels felt neither high nor low, but instead floated somewhere between. This is a highly versatile strain good for nearly any time of day, but note that the intoxication prevents much focus for accomplishing tasks. Conclusion I'm not sure whether it was the suggestive power of the name or not, but this Zero Gravity definitely gave me a slight feeling of levitation. This plus the spacey and calming high along with the smooth toke make it a solid option for your weekend sessions. To experience it for yourself there's no need to don a space suit or board a space ship, instead simply place your delivery order with Violet City today and be sure to mention that Toker’s Guide sent you!
- Pure Michigan - The Herban Hustle
Initial Thoughts If you thought the last batch of Runtz from local craft cannabis cultivator, The Herban Hustle, was awesome then I encourage you to check out this spectacular batch of Pure Michigan I just had the opportunity to indulge in. It might have the travel and tourism slogan for the state of Michigan on the outside, but on the inside it's pure fire. Appearance On the website for the state of Michigan the intro video that plays has a bunch of heavily snow covered trees that, frankly, don't hold a candle to these frosty buds. They're mostly purple, have reddish-orange pistils, and are totally trich'd out. Status Fresh. Aroma The aroma screams pure potency. It's a funky, earthy, spiciness, with a hint of lime. When you crush a bud between your fingers a stark gassy and creamy aroma explodes into the room - with even more hints of lime. Flavor Delectable in a funky, gassy, and chemmy way, with hints of earth, spice, and sour fruit. Lineage The Pure Michigan strain is a cross of Oreoz and Mendo Breath that runs indica dominant. Effects It's been a long time since i've had a feeling of stoniness similar to the first time I partook in the glorious ganja green - and that's what happened in this case. For an indica dominant hybrid, there were actually some uplifting vibes, and certainly some giggles, along with a HUGE body buzz and powerful euphoria. Whatever you do don't forget a water bottle and some snacks. Fantastic for lazy afternoons and evenings. Conclusion Taking all aspects into consideration, this is a pretty incredible batch of Pure Michigan and the potency, though the strain typically runs around 29% anyways, is off the charts. Accordingly, we gave it one of our highest review scores ever. To grab some for yourself just hit up The Herban Hustle today and don't forget to tell them you heard about it on Toker's Guide!
- Trichopath - Bloomingdale Organic
Initial Thoughts In-House Genetics is a micro-breeder of phenomenal cannabis cultivars that's always coming out with new, awesome strains to choose from. They are the creators of the super popular strains Slurricane, Dolato, Jelly Breath, and Platinum (among many others). Right now you can experience a cross of two of these strains in this recent Trichopath harvest from DC craft growers Bloomingdale Organic - and, as always, it doesn't fail to impress. 🤩 Appearance Bright green and fluffy with white and starry trichomes galore along with fiery orange pistils. Status Fresh. Aroma The aroma is like sweet and sour combo at first, but when you crush a bud there's a really funky, sour, and gassy scent that's released into your nostrils. Flavor Super delicious with a sweet and sour gassy flavor along with notes of skunk and hints of something kinda spicy like a pepper. Lineage The Trichopath strain is a cross of In House Genetics' Platinum and Jelly Breath that runs indica dominant. Effects This batch is exceptionally stoning and flexes it's indica muscles with the very first exhale. After a few fits of coughing the tingles rush to your extremities and a calming euphoria washes over your back. It's also quite spacey and I found myself practically drooling while staring inexplicably at inanimate objects and deep in thought. Great for evenings or those times when you have nothing important to do. Conclusion It's wonderful to see the local DC cultivation scene demonstrating its growing talent and this Trichopath is just the latest indicator that things are heading in an increasingly awesome direction. - Tokyo Snow - YANA Wellness
Initial Thoughts They say the mountains of Japan have some of the most beautiful snow on Earth. While this Tokyo Snow from DC i-71 marijuana dispensary, YANA Wellness, doesn't really have much to do with Japan (weed is still highly illegal there) it does have some very pretty white trichomes in layers that make it look reminiscent of a fresh snow fall. ❄️🗼 Appearance Dense light green nugs with blue-ish highlights, red pistils, and a strong layer of white trichomes. Status Starting to cure. Aroma Earthy, peppery, and slightly creamy. Flavor A smooth, creamy, and slightly peppery taste on the inhale with floral, earthy notes on the exhale. Lineage The Tokyo Snow strain is a cross of Hibachi Supreme and The Menthol that runs balanced at close to 50/50 on the indica/sativa spectrum. Effects This is a hybrid that captures both the clear-headed aspects typically reserved for sativas and the highly relaxing, calming vibes of a solid indica. It's quite versatile and the stoney buzz will satisfy without leaving you couch-locked. Best for afternoon and evening use. Conclusion Great for rolling up in joints given the smooth nature of the toke, this Tokyo Snow is one to keep in mind as you look to kick off a weekend of relaxation and rejuvenation while not wanting to go comatose. - Gelonade - The Gift Givers DC
Initial Thoughts This Gelonade, currently available from top-ranked DC i-71 delivery service, The Gift Givers, checks a lot of boxes. It's got beautiful coloration, a heavy coating of trichomes, and the aroma is different than other Gelonade batches I've seen in that not only does it have delicious citrusy nose, but it also has funky gassy notes as well. In fact it's so enjoyable that the phrase "are you Gellin'" has started circulating around the team in reference to the awesome high. Appearance Purple hues with green flecks and a heavy layer of large white trichomes. Status Starting to cure. Aroma Citrusy with hints of fuel and skunk. Flavor Fruit forward in a citrusy way with an aftertaste thats gassy. Very delicious. Lineage The Gelonade strain is a cross of Lemon Tree and Gelato #41 that runs sativa dominant. Effects These vibrantly uplifting and heavily cerebral effects engulf the mind upon onset with a great body buzz that grows and grows leaving you in a state of cheery bliss. The focus factor is good and knocking out work seemed to be no trouble aside from wanting to pause and hit it again. Sativa lovers will definitely enjoy the tremendous head rush that begins with the first exhale. Best for daytime use. Conclusion Sort of like the energy drink of the plant world, this delectably citrusy and gassy Gelonade makes a great addition to the sativa side of any stash box. - Oakland Piff - Top Level DC
Initial Thoughts This Oakland Piff is said to be an alternative east meets west New York Haze that’s available right now at DC i-71 marijuana dispensary, Top Level. Taking the east coast classic and expanding on it with the knowledge and experience the west has to offer has resulted in profound properties including a super funky smell and invigorating sativa high. Appearance Dense, green, and purple buds with tons of white trichomes and reddish orange pistils. Status Fresh, but starting to cure. Aroma A crazy gassy and citrusy scent. Flavor A peppery and spicy taste with floral notes and hints of earth and pine. Lineage The Oakland Piff strain is a cross of NYC Piff #3 and Gush Mints that runs sativa dominant. Effects The initial toke ushered in a wave of euphoria that gently surged through my veins, propelling me into a state of heightened alertness and mental engagement. A delightful buzzing sensation tingled across my skin, particularly notable in my facial region with a pronounced focus on the cheeks. It proved to be more than just a physical stimulant; it also played well with my attention span, offering relief for someone with ADD and allowed me to delve into tasks with enhanced focus. Conclusion A parting word of caution, Oakland Piff shouldn't be underestimated, especially when planning a rendezvous with the sandman. Despite my usual prowess in navigating sativas at night time, this particular strain kept me wired. Therefore, I recommend reserving Oakland Piff for daytime use to allow the effects to work their magic. - OZ Kush by Alien Labs - HYFE
Initial Thoughts You've probably been living under a rock if you've been smoking cannabis for a while and haven't heard of Alien Labs. This California brand was created based on classic stoner vibes and the OZ Kush strain that we recently got from DC i-71 marijuana delivery service, HYFE, pays homage to the legendary OG Kush cultivar. It's also quite potent and so cerebrally intoxicating that you might start thinking of O-Z as "OZ" instead and say things like "we're not in Kansas anymore". Well of course not, Dorothy. We're in DC and maybe you should set the pipe down for few. 🏡🌪🌈🪄👠 Appearance Dark green buds with purple tints and heavy trichome coverage. Status Fresh, but starting to cure. Aroma Sweet and sour, with a punch of gassiness and a slight hint of pineapple. Flavor Peppery and floral notes on the inhale and a woody, whiskey taste on the exhale. Lineage The OZ Kush strain is a cross between premium cuts of old-school Kush and the Original Z strain resulting in a balanced hybrid that runs 50/50. Effects A combination of cerebral and full-body high that was undeniably chill and amicable, allowing me to unwind without feeling overwhelmed. Laughter came easily, and my mind felt intoxicatingly free-spirited with bursts of creativity and free-form thoughts. Amid this elevated mood, I found a noticeable sense of stress relief and even in smaller doses, OZ Kush proved its effectiveness, making it a great choice for those with a higher tolerance. - Zip-It by Alt Sol - Takoma Wellness Center Dispensary
Initial Thoughts GG#4 is one of my favorite strains for a number of reasons so when I heard about the new Zip-It strain harvest from DC craft cultivator, Alternative Solutions' (Alt Sol), having GG in the mix I just had to check it out. And I'm very glad I did - these are some STUNNINGLY beautiful buds. 🤩 Appearance Fluffy, spear-shaped buds that are olive green and incredibly frosty with white and starry trichomes galore. Status Fresh, but starting to age. Aroma The aroma was a bit light on this one, which was surprising given the beauty, but smelled of wild flowers, cheese, and pine. Flavor Super smooth with floral notes and hints of pine and cream. Lineage The Zip-It strain is (Do-Si-Dos x GG4) x Cherry Chem and we feel it runs indica dominant. Effects The effects are highly cerebral, but sedating with a calm euphoria and a body high that comes in waves. While the extremities tingle in a warm glow the head is adrift in a tranquil space. I didn't experience couch-lock in the traditional sense - I was still able to stay awake. But, the spaciness and comfort level combine to make relaxation come with ease. Also notable are the powerful, relentless munchies and the innate ability to dry out my sinuses. Conclusion Though we would have liked to see a little more nose on it, this Zip-It had some intriguing effects that enabled next level introspection and relaxation. Rolled in a joint it also gets a nice hashy flavor that I thoroughly enjoyed and the burn is extremely smooth. To grab a "zip" of it for your own stash just head to Takoma Wellness Center today and don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Canna Ape Hash Rosin Gummy Bears - Mr. Nice Guys
Initial Thoughts These cute little Canna Ape gummy bears come with 12 in a pack and a total of 300mg THC all courtesy of DC i-71 marijuana dispensary, Mr. Nice Guys. So, while they might look adorable, they pack a tremendous full-spectrum wallop that left me stoned for hours after on-set. 🫠 Appearance Assorted bear-shaped gummies in yellow, blue, pink, orange, and green and covered in tiny sugar particles. I swear I see a little face on the bears too, but maybe I’m tripping. Status Fresh, squishy with a nice rebound, and tasty. Aroma Classic gummy bear candy smell with a strong rosin weed scent. Flavor Each color had a respective flavor: yellow is lemon, pink is strawberry, green is lime, orange is orange, and the blue is blue raspberry. There's definitely a noticeable rosin kick to each one, which I really enjoyed, and I found the combination of flavors delicious. The texture was soft and they weren’t sticky or super chewy either. Ingredients The main ingredients are sugar, corn syrup, and hash rosin. These do have artificial flavorings but I found them very similar to the Trolli gummy worm flavors. Effects In the spirit of scientific exploration, I sampled every flavor included in the bag, plus I ate an extra for good measure. This resulted in a substantial dose of 150mg of THC, delivered in the form of these hash rosin gummy bear gummies. In a little less than an hour, just as I began to question if they were working, I began to notice the effects. A slight tingle creeping its way up from my toes and a leisurely effect took over my body. Movements were heavy and slow while my mind remained dazed and completely at peace. Conclusion Hash rosin edibles allow the flavors and entourage effects from the flower's terpenes to come through making for a better experience over distillate or even weed butter. Great for afternoons and evenings, or even "bored" days at the yacht club, it's great to have these Canna Ape Hash Rosin Gummy Bears on hand to provide the relaxation you deserve. Head on down to Mr. Nice Guys today to grab some for yourself and be sure to mention that Toker's Guide sent you!

If this is the type of effect mysterious, aquatic monsters have on designer harvests then we say keep up the good work, Nessie! 🦕 Appearance Dark green buds with flecks of purple here and there along with a heavy layer of frosty trichomes and bright orange pistils. Status Fresh, but starting to cure. Aroma There's a pungent lemony-citrus scent with smooth fruity undertones. Flavor A mix of sweet and sour lemon. - Thai-Ger King - The Living Room
Initial Thoughts With some exceedingly rare genetics and an aroma that's somewhere between melon balls and limoncello, this batch of Thai-Ger King by Evermore is one all sativa lovers should have on their radar. With Maryland adult-use in full swing there's no excuse for me not to mozie over the border and scoop some delights from the Terrapin state, and this is one of the first ones I sought out. My only concern was whether I might get the sudden urge to start keeping exotic big cats captive in my yard. 🐅 Appearance These buds are fluffy with a light aquamarine green color, starry trichomes, and bright orange pistils. Status Fresh, but starting to cure. Aroma Somewhere between sweet melon and sour citrus fruit with hints of earth and pepper. Quite tropical if you close your eyes. Flavor A delicious spicy citrus zest with notes of earth and shortbread. Lineage The Thai-Ger King strain is a cross of Golden Tiger and Airborne Skunk that runs sativa dominant. Effects The high comes on with a cerebral energy that seems to locate in the front of the head and make its way around - much like a headband. The ability to focus and drive to accomplish tasks came with it, but there was definitely a little more hazy, spaciness than I expected. My limbs and appendages felt limber and light, and an uplifting body glow seemed to emanated from me in all directions. Great for daytime or morning use. Conclusion An awesome daytime toke for sativa-lovers and those looking to catch a high on Friday, but still hit happy hour with a full head of steam, don't miss this batch of Thai-Ger King. In fact, it had such nice social vibes I just had to chat it up with everyone who commented on my neon pink tiger-print jogging suit. Yeah it was a little warm, but it just looked so good with my new platinum blonde mullet. To catch some Thei-Ger King for yourself just head to The Living Room marijuana dispensary in Pikesville, MD or wherever Evermore flower is sold.
