- Milky Way X Baklava - Monko
Initial Thoughts With a name like Milky Way X Baklava I was excited to give this sample from DC i-71 storefront dispensary, Monko, a try. I enjoy being relaxed in my mind throughout each day to think clearly and be at ease, so I often seek indica hybrids for daytime use. I was also hoping it would have the sugary sweet flavor that the name implies. Appearance I like the look of this flower. There's a high amount of frostiness over tones of dark purple and sage green. Structure Star-shaped, mid-sized buds. Status Cured well. The calyx's in these buds are big in size, and this makes it just a bit harder to break down by hand if you want a finer grind. Aroma Dough, spicy, sweet Flavor Slightly doughy and sweet on the inhale, classic kush taste on the exhale. Hints of earthy and tart elderberry throughout. Lineage This is an indica-dominant hybrid and cross of the Milky Way and Baklava strains. Effects This indica dominant strain is very happy and brings a sense of inner peace. I enjoyed it in the evening after a nice dinner and felt as though I was having a sweet dessert. The high was spacey and enveloped my body. The whole experience was sort of like eating a cookie while floating through the Milky Way, if you will. Conclusion I thoroughly enjoyed this flower and think it could help many people achieve the mellow indica vibes they seek. The flavor is on-point with it's sugary sweet kushy-ness and the relaxed body high makes it a great one to keep in your stash box for evening use. - Black Runtz - No Kids Allowed
Initial Thoughts The nose on this batch of Black Runtz from DC i-71 storefront dispensary No Kids Allowed is just awesome. It's very similar to a fruit candy and skews toward something like pineapple or cherry. It's also fresher than many bags of Runtz I've seen lately and this is definitely contributing to the loudness of the aroma. Also, note not only how fresh and heavy the trichome coverage is, but how large the individual trichomes are as well. 🤏 Appearance Spear-shaped buds that are about half deep purple and half dark green with lots of frosty white trichomes. Status Fresh and just beginning to cure. Aroma Fruity like candy of the pineapple or cherry variety, but with notes that are skunky and gassy as well. Deliciously pungent! Flavor It hits smooth and has tremendous berry, skunky, gassy notes. There's also hints of earth and coffee in the aftertaste. Lineage Black Runtz is a cross of Black Diamond Sherbert and Runtz that runs indica-dominant. Effects This batch packs an immense body buzz that's highly relaxing and joyful to experience. I found myself frequently lost in thought with a smile on my face. Though it was hard to focus I wasn't too drowsy to knock out some writing work, but falling asleep was easy when wrapped in the cozy, glowing high. It's probably better for evening use or times of rest and rejuvenation. Conclusion If you're a Runtz fan then you'll love this version's potent effects and magnificent flavor. It also breaks up easy, rolls easy, and has a super white ash. To pick up some Black Runtz for yourself just head to the always fun-loving No Kids Allowed ASAP. - Lemon Rainbow - Cheeba DC
Initial Thoughts Rumors in the DMV weed world are that DC i-71 storefront dispensary, Cheeba DC, has some fine exotic flavors that you won’t find in other area shops. So, when I was handed this Lemon Rainbow bag, I knew I was gonna give this one some heavy scrutiny - you don’t call your products "exotic" unless they check certain boxes. Will Cheeba live up to the hype and will Lemon Rainbow be worthy of the title? By the look (and smell) of things, I'm already leaning toward "Yes". Either way I think it's going to be a really stoney review session. 🤤 Appearance These tight, dense nugs are extremely purple with rust-colored tendrils. The greens that combine with the deep purple create a unique camouflage of cannabis that has to be seen to be understood. I could only imagine what this one looked like still on the "vine". Status Fresh, but beginning to cure. Aroma It literally smells like fruity pebbles cereal. Flavor Equally as fruity in the flavor profile. The exhale of this smoke is full of complex sour fruity funky tastes. It’s like a fruit salad desert in smoke form. Also worth noting is an essence of menthol at the finish. It really is quite unique. Lineage The genetics of this flower remain a mystery, but I suspect that it contains a variant of Lemon Kush as well as Runtz. Effects Fast-acting and hard-charging, this is not couch-lock weed. I had creative energy, but at the same time my normally hyperactive mind was calmed down just enough to focus. This is a great example of a hybrid strain with a balance of effects and calming energy minus any drowsiness. Conclusion This strain checks every box for me. It has flavor for days. It smells like a super duper fruity funky blend. The terps are off the chain. The buzz is equally cerebral and body relaxing. It is potent but not overwhelming. It was sexy purple bud which screamed at me to smoke it every time I glanced in its direction (and smoke it I did). I love it and I want some more. Plain and simple: get the Lemon Rainbow before I do. And you can tell Cheeba DC that Kannabus Ben of Tokers Guide sent you!
- Chocolate Oreos - Buddha Buddy DC
Initial Thoughts I'm not sure what the "Chocolate" in this batch of Chocolate Oreos from DC i-71 delivery service Buddha Buddy DC means from a genetics standpoint. I can, however, confirm its indica lean and mega exotic nose. When you break it open the milky trichomes are everywhere - so much so you might even think these Oreos have been...dunked.🥛 Appearance Dark purple with hints of green and tons of white trichomes. Rotund and beefy buds that are somehow both dense and fluffy. Status Fresh, but starting to cure. Aroma This batch is highly aromatic and has immensely skunky, creamy hues. Flavor Skunky, creamy, sweet and with what seem like actual hints of chocolate - though a bit more earthy than a traditional chocolate bar. Delectably smooth in the joint or blunt. Lineage As mentioned, we're not sure about the "Chocolate" part, but the Oreoz strain is an indica dominant cross of Cookies N Cream and Secret Weapon. Effects The first word that comes to mind when describing the effects of this specimen is "strong". The buzz is almost overpowering and knocks you straight back into your seat - provided you're sitting down (recommended). It is highly indica in nature so expect tremendous euphoria, some disorientation, and sedative effects. You can also expect to feel no pain as you devour everything in your pantry that can possibly be considered crunchy. Conclusion Get to know these Chocolate Oreos while they're around. - Master Gelato - Elevated Lounge
Initial Thoughts I've always enjoyed a good batch of Master Kush, and Gelato in it's various forms is almost always in my stash box. So, when I found out about this batch of Master Gelato from DC i-71 storefront dispensary, Elevated Lounge, naturally I was ready to fill my coffers. With excellent trichome coverage and a deliciously smooth Gelato-esque flavor you might want to think about filling yours too! 💭 Appearance Light green with splotches of purple throughout. Heavy white and starry trichomes. Status Fresh, but just starting to cure. Aroma Like a Gelato, but skunkier and with exotic sour, spicy notes. Flavor The flavor is reminiscent of a creamy high-end Gelato, but with some spicy, sour, and skunky notes that are unlike any other Gelato crossbreeds I can recall. Burns really smooth. Lineage Master Gelato is an indica dominant hybrid and cross of the world famous Master Kush and Gelato strains. Effects This is a highly euphoric, immensely stoning batch of pot. It has strong kush tendencies with tranquil, but racing thoughts, heaviness in the limbs and an overall feeling of sedation. Save this one for the evening time or when you just want to escape into restful bliss for a few hours. Make sure you clear your calendar when you hit it, though - it's much like a vacation for your mind and body. Or would that be a staycation? 🤔 Conclusion Fantastic for getting rest and rejuvenating or just getting bleary-eyed stoned with your friends and streaming some movies, this is a superb indica to add to your collection. - Princess Cut by Diamond Fire - Exotic Organics
Initial Thoughts These days when I see a nice pack with a crazy shape or wild name I find myself preparing to be let down by the contents. Yes, it seems that many would rather spend time on marketing materials and packaging than their end product. When I saw this Diamond Fire pack from DC i-71 cannabis delivery service, Exotic Organics, however, I knew it would be a different story given their track record for having actual designer exotics on hand. Though we would have liked to see a little less cure on it and larger buds, the quality of this Princess Cut really shines through when you begin breaking it up. It's at that point that the phenomenal aroma is released and you can gaze upon the splendid trichomes that grace the interior of these buds. 🤩 Appearance Green and purple with good trichome coverage on the outside. On the interior the trichomes are still starry. Status Cured, but freshness emerges when breaking it up. Aroma Like vanilla and caramel candy. Subtle at first, but awesome when fully released. Flavor A silky smooth toke that has sugary, candy-like notes with hints of caramel, cream, and vanilla. Lineage Princess Cut is an Ice Cream Cake phenotype originally bred by DiamondFire that runs indica dominant. It's a cross of Gelato and Wedding Cake. Effects This Princess Cut has immense potency with a very cerebral, mellow high. Note that the body high came on strong after about 30 minutes and all of my limbs felt lighter at that point. You can burn this during the day, but it does do a number on your eye lids, making them more squinty than usual. It's not hard to stay awake, though, and I was somewhat alert during the experience. I will say that I enjoyed the style of buzz much more in the evening time. Conclusion This is a case where the quality of the contents confirms the quality of the stylish looking pack and this Princess Cut version of Ice Cream Cake is one that I'll be looking out for going forward. The sweet, candy-esque nose and flavor along with the stoning potency make it one I'm psyched to be rolling up in the evening across this weekend. - Rotten Fresaz - Lucky Chuckie
Initial Thoughts With an intriguing name and a nice, frosty appearance, this Rotten Fresaz specimen from DC i-71 cannabis delivery service, Lucky Chuckie, is a strain I'm not familiar with at all and, thus, my curiosity was piqued. As a public service announcement let me say, before I go any further, that this batch does not actually smell rotten or, as my friend from Boston tried to put it, like a rotten freezah. No, no, it actually smells like an indica of the kush variety - which is a good thing. 👃✅ Appearance Bright green with bluish-purple flecks and a heavy amount of white trichomes all over. Dense in structure, but somewhat spongey to the touch. Status Fresh and just starting to cure. Aroma Like a spicy kush with notes of earth, skunk, cream, and pine. When you break it up or squeeze it really hard a super gassy and skunky aroma is released that begins to dominate all others. Flavor Gassy, skunky, piney, and earthy with spices like that of an Indian buffet. Lineage We're not finding much when researching Rotten Frezas, but is it possible that this is a case of a smudge or typo and the name is actually supposed to be Rotten Rozay? In that case it would be a cross of GMO and Rozay F2, and run indica dominant. Effects For me the effects were euphoric and stoning with most of the buzz swirling around my body. It was somewhat disorienting and certainly led to munchies, so I do believe this is overtly indica in nature. Best rolled up and burned during late afternoon or evening hours its calming and sedative effects make for the coziest of couch sessions. Conclusion Indica connoisseurs looking to try something new - something with an exotically pungent gassy and skunky flavor - should consider adding this Rotten Fresaz to their collection. Just hit up Lucky Chuckie today and they'll get your delivery squared away, right away. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Zoap - Flower Ave
Initial Thoughts This is a gnarly batch of Zoap from DC i-71 cannabis delivery aficionados, Flower Ave. Of course, by "gnarly" I mean it's highly pungent in a funky skunky way as well as being visually akin to eye-candy. It's so delicious, yet powerful in flavor that a friend joked it was like they had "just washed their mouth out with Zoap" after pulling a large bong rip. 👄💨 Appearance Bright green and bluish-purple buds have white and starry trichomes all over. Fluffy in structure and crisp to the touch. Status Fresh and just starting to cure. Aroma Like a spicy, fruity soap with candy-like elements and hints of petro fuel. Flavor Like tart candy mixed with gas and skunk. A deliciously rich and exotic flavor. Lineage An evenly balanced hybrid, the Zoap strain is a cross of Pink Guava and Rainbow Sherbert. Effects I felt that this batch was much more on the mellow side of 50/50, but enjoyed its euphoric and highly aromatic presence in my life, nonetheless. It quelled all digestive pain for me and led to an overall cheery disposition, but one where I was, honestly, a bit lethargic. Moving it to the late afternoon and evening time resulted in a more ideal experience and I loved the mellow, yet alert combo at that juncture. Very, very potent either way. Conclusion A phenomenally tasting toke with good effects that are calming yet don't put you down for the count are all aspects that make this batch of Zoap one that you should consider for your herbal selections this week. Hit up Flower Ave to check out this and all their other awesome exotic flower options today. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you their way!
- Supreme Cream - The Gift Givers
Initial Thoughts Supreme Cream is a strain I've gotten the opportunity to smoke in Oregon but hadn't picked up on the East Coast yet. In my experience, it's always has a beautiful frosty look to it, which is true to its genetic background of high resin producing strains. As I plucked the pack from the bag I was surprised to see that it was clear, but wasn't surprised at all to see that a smattering of heavy trichomes were already visible in abundance through the plastic. Appearance Extremely frosty with a lot of dark purple speckles making it appear somewhat similar to a pint of cookies and cream ice cream. Structure Dense, spear-shaped buds. Status Cured well, slightly dry inside. Aroma A vanilla cookie with hints of dark chocolate making it a bit more exotic and sophisticated. Flavor A bite of sweet sugary cookies at first, but the aftertaste was more on the piney side. Lineage Supreme Cream is an indica dominant cross of Cereal Milk and Casino Kush. Effects Becoming aware of my body, I felt the high creeping in almost instantly. The effects gave me the munchies and made me want to stretch my limbs as far as I could for a deep release of tension. My mind was working quickly and I felt inspired to read and do research on various topics of intrigue. Soon I was in a relaxed and somewhat dreamy state, but was still able to retain lots of information. I really enjoyed the calming, euphoric high of this batch and felt as though it was quite potent. Conclusion I've been savoring the powerful little bits of Supreme Cream that I have left. I would definitely pick it up again and I think it worked really well for me from an evening use perspective. Also notable is this strain's ability to add plenty of kief to your grinder and it would be a great option for making hash, if that's what you're into. To add some to your stash box just hit up The Gift Givers today and don't forget to let them know Toker's Guide sent you their way!
- Super Runtz - Flight Pass DC
Initial Thoughts Despite the oxymoron these Runtz from DC i-71 storefront dispensary, Flight Pass, are actually quite "super" and worthy of the name. They're also so dark purple in color that they're almost black - which makes the splendid trichome coverage stand out nicely. Most impressive at first glance, however, is the awesomely delicious skunky, fruity, and tart aroma that's like a great batch of Runtz on steroids. 💪 Appearance Dark purple buds with lots of white trichomes and orange hairs. Structure Elongated, dense buds. Status Cured well and it rolls up nicely. Aroma A complex fruity, skunky, and tart scent with hints of cream. Flavor Just like the aroma, but with added skunky gassy-ness and sour fruit. Lineage Bred by Don Merfos, Super Runtz is a balanced hybrid and cross of 41 Cherries and Lemon Cherry Gelato that runs 50/50 on the indica/sativa spectrum. Effects After rolling a joint of this Super Runtz I can say that the initial onset is heady, but kind of indica-like in terms of the mental spacey-ness. It wasn't until a few minutes in that I came to and felt that I did have some energy in my veins after all. I suppose the issue was the disorienting nature of the high and its ability to confuse my body. Or maybe it was just my desire to bask in the feel good aspects I was experiencing and not move a muscle. Make sure you have lots of water or a frosty cold beverage on hand! Conclusion This is a potent batch of Super Runtz that makes for a great all around and versatile option given its balanced effects. It's also extremely delicious and differs in being slightly more gassy/skunky versus my notes on our last Super Runtz review. So head to Flight Pass DC today and fill your stash box with this or one of their other fresh flower varietals. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Viper Cookies by Alt Sol - Takoma Wellness Center (DC Medical)
Initial Thoughts Testing at a whopping 30% THC this recently harvested batch of Viper Cookies was grown by DC craft cultivators Alternative Solutions (Alt Sol) and just dropped at Takoma Wellness medical dispensary. It's potency goes without saying, but what should be mentioned is just how exquisite this run turned out. The aroma is so pungent, so pronounced it's almost like lifting the lid on a batch of venom. 🐍 Appearance The first thing I noticed about this specimen was the staggering amount of large burnt orange hairs. Beneath them the bud is a beautiful pale green and covered with silvery, starry trichomes. Status Fresh. Aroma The scent is spicy, creamy, and hashy at first, but then sweetens and takes on sugary accents. Flavor Floral and earthy with hints of sweet cream and exotic spices. Lineage Viper Cookies is an indica dominant hybrid and a cross of Viper City and Girl Scout Cookies strains. Effects Incredibly strong and capable of sending nearly any toker backward in their seat, at least momentarily, this batch of Viper Cookies should be approached carefully and in evening settings. You don't want to go overboard here because she does have one powerful bite and a venomously sedating high. For experienced connoisseurs, it's best to grind this and load up the bong or bubbler, but do it from a comfy chair or couch. Conclusion Another beautiful harvest from some of DC's finest growers! I especially like the creamy nuances in the flavor of this pheno and the potency is unreal this time around too. Be sure to check out this most recent batch of Alt Sol's Viper Cookies by visiting Takoma Wellness Center ASAP. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Bacio Gelato - District Organics
Initial Thoughts I'm immensely enjoying this batch of Bacio Gelato from DC i-71 delivery team, District Organics. It's highly potent and has heady, uplifting effects along with a glowing body high. It also tastes phenomenal when rolled up and the ash is entirely white. 🤗 Appearance These bright green and purple buds are heavily covered in white, frosty trichomes. They're on the smaller side, but pack a mean punch. Status Beginning to cure. Aroma There's an amazing nose on this batch that's a fresh, creamy, and skunky Gelato mixed with sour citrus notes and hints of pine. Flavor A delectable and complex mix of cream, skunk, lemon, and pine. Lineage Bacio Gelato is a cross of Sunset Sherbert and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies that runs evenly balanced (50/50) on the indica/sativa spectrum. Effects This is a joyously uplifting yet delightfully stoney batch of Bacio Gelato and I'm totally in love with it. It's the perfect energetic and soothing combo for a weekend morning - or really across any day. For me there was some focus, some creative spark, and a lot of feeling goofy and smiley.
