  • Midnight Circus - The Living Room (MD Medical)

Initial Thoughts Still available at various Maryland medical dispensaries, this Midnight Circus from Evermore has been going like hotcakes, and for good reason. It's fluffy and has some spectacular starry trichomes, but the aroma and flavor are indisputably the most notable traits of this awesome batch. You might even say it's a "circus" of flavors that culminate in your mouth after every hit - definitely roll this one up to get the fullest sense across your palate. Appearance Large fluffy buds that are mostly purple with patches of green and tons of starry trichomes. Status Beginning to cure, but the scent is still fresh. Aroma Gassy, creamy, skunky, and slightly fruity along the lines of grapes. It's quite a lot like a Gelato #33 in terms of aroma and flavor. Flavor Creamy, gassy, and fruity with hints of skunk and pine. Incredibly delicious! Lineage The Midnight Circus strain is a cross of Sunset Sherbet and Animal Cookies that runs indica dominant. Effects This varietal seemed to have all the feelings possible under the "Big Top". It was highly euphoric and melted all my cares away upon onset, but didn't make me want to lay down. On the contrary, it gave such a nice mellow body buzz that I wanted to walk around and explore the evening with my eyes all glazed and starry. I wouldn't actually call it energetic, though, just joy inducing - I had a smile on my face the whole time. On the come down there were many spacey mental qualities and, when the time came, I had no trouble drifting pleasantly off to sleep. Conclusion Another wonderful creation out of Evermore, this Midnight Circus is one that all Maryland connoisseurs should check out. The warm indica feels with retained functionality make it great for lazy summer weekends by the pool or grilling out. Plus, its got so much pungency and delectableness that, when you spark it outside, all your friendly neighbors are bound to stop by and investigate. When they do, just tell them "the circus is in town". 🎪 🤡 To grab some Midnight Circus for your own stash just hit up The Living Room (and sign up for their drops so you can get it first hand) or inquire with Evermore Cannabis Company about what nearby dispensaries have it in stock. Don't forget to let them know you heard about it on Toker's Guide!

  • Washington DC's Top Five THC Vape Cartridges - 2023 Edition

If you're into vaping THC we've got you covered with the following report on the best cartridge options currently available in Washington DC. From from 510 threaded to disposables and even an innovative new system, check out what some of our favorite shops have to offer. 5. Super Lemon Haze Cartridge - The Green Room Personally, Super Lemon Haze is one of my favorite strains of all time. So, when I saw the cartridge version come across my desk from DC i-71 storefront dispensary, The Green Room, well, let's just say I got pretty psyched. Then when i hit it, I got even more psyched and, with my new found energetic and creative mindset, I put on some funky electronic music and started getting down in my office. That's right people this one packs an uplifting, heady high that is pretty damn close to the flower itself. The flavor, clearly made from reintroduced terpenes of the original strain, was impeccable and not too sugary or overpowering. Of course, this is still a distillate cart, so you may not get quite the effects that you get from a rosin or live resin cart, but the terpenes are still abundantly beneficial. Head to The Green Room today to catch some of these awesome Super Lemon Haze carts for your own stash. 4. Blue Dream Live Resin Cart - Elevated Lounge The effects of Blue Dream are always a daytime delight for me. There's a lot of hazy cerebral bliss and a touch of energy, but an immense amount of focus - at least when I've had versions of the flower in the past. This Blue Dream live resin cartridge from DC i-71 storefront dispensary, Elevated Lounge, captures the essence of those experiences and instantly provides it in escalating amounts with each puff. The flavor is fresh, but not too sweet or too fruity like you find with poor quality "Blue Dream" carts. It's just a touch of the right amount of fruitiness and a lot of piney hash-like notes - a testament to the immense potency. Note that they do hit quite hard. In fact, this might be the most powerful of the bunch. Beginners beware! These are not for the newbs. To grab a Blue Dream Live Resin Cart for yourself just head to one of two Elevated Lounge locations in the District and they'll be happy to show you the way! 3. Turn - Lemonade Stand - Monko This next cartridge is really more of a system - and what a system it is! At first glance it resembles an earbuds case - and this is intentional. Just imagine the ease of travel and the convenience of charging your vape. It's called Turn, it's both gorgeous and delicious at the same time, and it's currently available at DC i-71 storefront, Monko. Along with it I received a custom cartridge from the same brand (Turn) with the flavor Lemonade Stand, a sativa dominant hybrid. The packaging said it was great for "goal-crushing" and after several hits I'm definitely feeling energetic and ready to crush so many goals I must be a soccer player. 😂🤦‍♂️ There's a tingling sense as the uplifting body buzz comes rolling in. Then a sense of hazy disorientation precedes the creativity inspiring cerebral high. It's clean, crisp, and so motivating I took it on a run with me - also a very enjoyable experience - where it was extremely easy to carry/conceal. Overall, what I like best about this cart is the flavor. Each puff is like taking a bite of a lemon meringue cookie, but in a natural, cannabis-oriented way. It's super mouthwatering and makes me want to keep hitting it again and again, but doesn't over do it on the palate and there's nothing syrupy about it either. No, it's just right in the flavor department for me! To pick up the whole Turn system, or the just the individual pods in various strains, just head down to Monko today. 2. Candyland Live Resin Disposable Cart - DC MOTA If you've been following Toker's Guide for a minute then you probably already know that I'm a pretty big fan of DC MOTA's live resin disposables. They've all got such awesome flavor, but this Candyland in particular is one that I keep going back to. It's sugary sweet, but not in an unnatural or overpowering way - much more mouthwatering and deliciously session-able, kind of like a juicy West Coast IPA. The device also hits really smooth and I can breath with it versus having to suck with my lips and mouth. This makes for longer, smoother hits and the result is a head rush of an onset that's just awesome. Being a sativa dominant hybrid, the effects are uplifting and energetic, but also tremendously euphoric at higher doses. To try it out for yourself just head to one of the many DC storefronts that now carry DC MOTA products. 1. Wedding Cake CO2 Cart - by Jawi With a simple, yet reliable design, ceramic mouth piece, and ceramic internals, this Wedding Cake CO2 Cart from DC small batch i-71 cannabis cultivator Jawi is one that I haven't had any jamming issues with. It hits perfectly every time and the consistency is on-point as well. Why I really love it, however, is due to the surprisingly spot-on flavor. Usually, in my experience, CO2 cartridges have kind of a funny, almost bitter flavor to them. This is definitely not the case here, as the flavor comes through with gusto and lets you know it is made from exquisite flower, for sure. This is likely due to the re-introduction of terpenes and cannabinoids extracted from the original plant before the CO2 extraction, allowing for the phenomenal flavor at hand. In terms, of effects, those with low tolerance should look to take it easy and "dip their toes" in the water, so to speak. These carts pack a real punch at this potency level and the full spectrum approach can send entourage effects in waves that are reminiscent of dabbing rosin. Overall, the buzz is energetic, heady, and with uplifting vibes along with a hearty body buzz that seems to resonate around the head and back. Great as an any time option due to its versatile nature, but also with enough power for those needing more intense effects, these Wedding Cake CO2 carts from Jawi are currently my favorite carts around. Just hit up Jawi to find out how you can get your hands on them today. As always, when you pick up one of the products we've reviewed don't forget to let them know that you heard about it here on Toker's Guide. Happy toking everyone!

  • Sweet Tart - No Kids Allowed

Initial Thoughts With an aroma that's much like sweet sugary candy with a burst of tartness, this batch of Sweet Tart from DC i-71 storefront dispensary, No Kids Allowed, is fuuunky. When rolled, that amazingly exotic aroma rolls right up into your mouth as soon as you light it too. It's straight up delicious! Appearance Spear-shaped buds that are pale green with brown pistils and lots of starry trichomes. Aroma Sweet, sugary, and tart - strikingly, a lot like the candy of the same name. Flavor Sweet, sugary, and tart just like the aroma but with a gassy, creamy exhale that's silky smooth. Lineage The Sweet Tart strain is a three-way cross of Purple Thai, Afghani, and ATF that runs evenly balanced at 50/50. Effects This batch has a vibrant and uplifting buzz that starts off in the head and moves all around the body. It's not edgy like a sativa can sometimes be, though, and has mellow, calming aspects that eventually take over. Another great daytime option that's probably best for mid to late afternoon. Conclusion Given the flavor I've decided I'm going to grind up this whole 8th and roll joints from it to last me through the weekend as I'm making my way around the city. I love the taste, the smoothness, and the buzz is just the type of uplifting one I'm looking for to get my summer started off right. To grab some Sweet Tarts for yourself just head to No Kids Allowed ASAP and tell them you heard about it on Toker's Guide!

  • Blue Dream - Giving Tree

Initial Thoughts Here's a pretty solid batch of Blue Dream that's currently available at DC i-71 storefront dispensary, Giving Tree. I think most stoners are familiar with Blue Dream at this point - it's been quite popular for about a decade now - but if you're not this is a good one to get acquainted with it. I also happen to think this is a pretty good "on-ramp" sativa for those who haven't dipped their toe into that side of the cannabis realm before. Appearance Pale green buds with lots of light orange pistils and layers of white trichomes. Status Beginning to cure. Aroma Cheesy, earthy, and slightly fruity. Flavor Just like the aroma, but with a little more cheese and notes of sour mixed in as well. Lineage The Blue Dream strain is a cross of Blueberry and Haze that runs sativa dominant at roughly 60/40. Effects Waves of energetic uplifting vibes along with a focused mindset and heavy bodily bound euphoria. Eventually it will result in more relaxing vibes where spacing out with be commonplace for the user. A great wake n' bake and daytime toke. Typically does not cause social awkwardness and shouldn't have any edginess either. Conclusion Without many sativa options of high quality around, definitely consider adding some of this Blue Dream to your shopping list this weekend. It's a really good batch that still has its fresh, funky, cheesy flavor and it'll help keep the party going all weekend if you want it to. To grab some for you own stash box just head to Giving Tree today and don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!

  • Valley Girl by gLeaf - Cannabist, Norfolk (VA Medical)

Initial Thoughts With summer right around the corner, it's almost time for bikinis, margaritas and sun bathing; thankfully, one thing I don’t have to wait for is this sassy batch of Valley Girl cultivated by gLeaf. Though I’ve only just recently encountered this strain, it’s definitely one I’d choose to keep in my stash. With such versatility in this carefully cultivated hybrid, the effects can range from giddy to relaxation depending on your tolerance. So, for someone like me with a fairly high tolerance, it’s absolutely a no-brainer. 🧠 Appearance These buds are lime green with orange hairs reaching for the sky, and sparkling trichomes coat the buds in their entirety! Status Beginning to cure. Aroma Valley Girl has a pungent spicy, herbal, and piney twang to its aroma. There are also clean notes of citrus and wood that escape the buds as you break them down. Flavor The sass doesn’t stop at Valley Girl’s aroma; instead, it lingers on the palate even after you’ve finished smoking. Poignantly twangy flavors of pine and citrus make this batch so delectable! Lineage Valley Girl is the offspring of hybrid San Francisco Valley (SFV) OG and indica Face Off OG. She was originally created in 1999 in the San Fernando Valley, which is how she received her name! Effects Get ready for the sass! Valley Girl is the perfect hybrid strain, giving you that amazing cerebral energy while filling your body with this glorious euphoric feeling! After about an hour, it made me feel like I had smoked a bowl of Face Off! I was couch locked and sleepy, and it didn’t take long before the sleep won. I will say, if you smoke this earlier in the day, the SFV shines through more than the Face Off, giving you energy to get stuff done. But, once that sun goes down, this definitely becomes more of a sleepy time strain! That’s the beauty of carefully cultivated hybrids such as Valley Girl. They can do it all! Conclusion It’s hard to find a fault in such a beautifully cultivated strain such as this Valley Girl. She gives you the high highs and the low lows to do whatever it is you need to do! Chores? Errands? Sleep? Whatever your ailment, Valley Girl has the sass to handle it all. This is one I’m definitely going to be enjoying as we kick off the summer! If you want to jump on the bandwagon, swing on by Cannabist and let them know you heard about Valley Girl right here on Toker’s Guide!

  • Fresaz - Exotic Organics

Initial Thoughts Fresaz is a sativa dominant strain that immediately caught my attention because of its exotic appearance. Of course, what else would you expect from a DC i-71 cannabis delivery service by the name of Exotic Organics? If the name of the strain is based on Fresa, the Spanish word for strawberry, but with "Z" on the end, then this would also indicate its exotic level - think Z for Za-Za. What I really want to know, though, is does it taste like strawberries? 🍓 Appearance These buds are covered in yellow hued trichomes leaving just enough room for the beautiful purples and greens to poke on through. It’s complemented by a small amount of fiery orange pistils. Structure Nice sized buds that squished nicely into my grinder. Dense but still holding some moisture. Status Cured. Aroma The sweet and fruity notes of strawberry initially filled the air, that is until the underlying hints of creamy sweetness and earthiness took over. Flavor The slight berry flavor kisses the tongue, accompanied by musky and gassy notes on the inhale. The aftertaste left a slightly minty cocoa flavor. Lineage The parents of this strain are nowhere to be found. This abandoned baby leans 70/30 sativa dominant in my experience. Effects From the moment I took my first toke of this Fresaz I could tell its potency was immense. It sent me into an almost psychedelic state where it seemed like my vision was playing tricks on me. It’s also a very mentally racey strain and my mind became a playground of running thoughts and heightened creativity. Then the munchies took over and the only thing I could think about was what to eat next. There were not many noticeable effects on my body as this strain mainly affected my mental state. Conclusion Fresaz embodies a complex flavor profile, mind altering effects, and boasts a beautiful bud composition. This strain is strong, and leaves you stoned, but not the same as a heavy indica would. Since it is a sativa and the effects leave you wanting anything but sleep, I recommend using this strain earlier in the day to get the most out of its effects. To grab some Fresaz for yourself just hit up Exotic Organics today and don’t forget to mention that you heard about it on Toker’s Guide when you place your delivery order!

  • The Emerald Cut - Flower Ave

Initial Thoughts I only recently encountered this Emerald Cut strain, currently available from DC i-71 delivery service, Flower Ave. Not to be confused with the California brand, The Emerald Cup, which holds contests to rank cannabis yearly, this batch quite frankly looked like it might be able to win said Emerald Cup. 🤩 Appearance I immediately noticed the range of purples - some so dark they almost look black - and green hues that are reminiscent of lush emerald gemstones. Delicate orange pistils lay intertwined in heavy layers of large white trichomes. Structure The Emerald Cut exhibits tightly packed bracts that contribute to its dense bud composition. Status Fresh and just starting to cure. Aroma A interesting fusion of diesel and cheesy notes immediately tickled my senses. These were accompanied by hints of citrus and herbs that danced in the background. Flavor Upon inhalation, the taste buds are instantly greeted with a burst of zesty lemon that mixes nicely with fuel-like undertones. This terpy delight coats your mouth and the sweet aftertaste doesn’t dissipate.
