Initial Thoughts
As a big fan of the old school cultivar, Strawberry Cough, I couldn't help but get excited about ripping down on some sugar wax derived from said strain. Would it be the super-charged sativa experience I recall? If the aroma has anything to do with it then I believe the answer is yes!
Appearance
It's a bit darker orange that some of the other sugar specimens, but this IS "wax".
Status
Moist in some parts, gritty and drier in others.
Aroma
Tart, tangy, and with a funky musk to it.
Flavor
The tart and tanginess come out more in the flavor along with some gassy notes.
Lineage
Strawberry Cough is a classic sativa-dominant cross of Haze and Strawberry Fields.
Effects
The effects were spot on with the strong sativa and haze influences that I remember. There was a head rush of energy at first which then extended into the rest of my body and I found my self being re-invigorated with creativity and sprightliness though late in the afternoon. One of the most ironic aspects, however, was that with a name that has "cough" in it, I actually didn't cough at all - a testament to this batches smoothness.
Conclusion
Old school heads who recall Strawberry cough with affinity and fond memories will enjoy basking in the splendor of this sugar wax's buzz for sure. It's heady, it's tangy, and it'll keep you pumped up and going strong for hours.
