Initial Thoughts
This is a phenomenal batch of Purple Amnesia currently available at top DC i-71 storefront dispensary, Elevated Lounge. As a huge fan of Amnesia Haze (and Hazes in general), I'm totally psyched to give this Purple version a try - especially given the the Ruderalis influence.
Appearance
Large coniferous buds that are deep purple with light green flecks here and there. Most notable is the thick layer of starry and white trichomes everywhere.
Status
Fresh, but just beginning to cure.
Aroma
The aroma is sweet, and super citrusy with hints of anise and pepper.
Flavor
This batch has a smooth, but super citrusy flavor with hints of anise, pepper, and other spices.
Lineage
Purple Amnesia is a cross between Amnesia Haze and Purple Ruderalis that runs sativa dominant. Note that the Ruderalis was likely included for its purple coloration, but also because it enables auto-flowering as the subspecies originally evolved in the daylight length extremes of Siberia.
Effects
The super cerebral effects of this batch are uplifting and energizing, but also dreamy and spacey - which is a typical effect of Haze varietals. It is definitely a mood enhancer for me and I find myself enjoying light physical and social activities. Though it has significant potency and sativa traits, I didn't get a sense of any edginess or angst. This could be a good one for those looking to dip their toes in the sativa side of the pool.
Conclusion
Wonderful for daytime use and perfect for bringing an immediate burst of energy and creativity to my afternoons recently, I'm enjoying the sh*t out of this Amnesia Haze. I'd like to commend the good folks over at Elevated Lounge for sourcing it and encourage all my sativa enthusiasts out there to give this one a try!
