Initial Thoughts
Breeder and cultivator Rojo (@rojomatt) and his Redline Reserve (@redline_genetics) line of genetics are celebrated across California dispensaries, especially when new strains drop. Super Chief is one Redline original that I've been keeping any eye on since it was favorited by Rojo's friend, legendary West Coast rapper and cannabis entrepreneur, B-Real of Cypress Hill. In fact, the launch party for the strain was at B-Real's dispensary, Dr Greenthumb's in Los Angeles. I was considering a flight out to check the strain (among others) as mentioned on B-Real's podcast at the time, but I never got the chance due to the COVID pandemic.
However, finally making its way to the East Coast cultivation circuit, you can now find Super Chief right here in Washington DC. That's right Tokerverse, an excellent batch of this highly sought after strain is currently available at none other than DC weed dispensary, Monko.
Appearance
Dense, bright green, and purple hand-trimmed buds with white and starry trichomes.
Status
Starting to cure, but the aroma is still fresh.
Aroma
Piney, gassy, and minty with sweet notes kind of like butterscotch.
Flavor
Totally smooth and gassy with a sweet, piney, and slightly minty aftertaste.
Lineage
The Super Chief strain is a cross of Purple Blossom and Oreoz that runs indica-dominant.
Effects
Mega stoning and euphoric with a tremendous body hight and some sedative effects, this batch has me in total chill out and lounge mode today. This is a great one for laying out by the pool or streaming some shows - sedentary activities like these. Yet, I didn't really get a sense of couch lock and I didn't mind being social. Note that it is totally intoxicating and you won't want to have anything to do that requires focus or organization.
Conclusion
I'm very psyched that I got to try the Super Chief strain and this batch is one that's great to roll up given the smooth toke, exotic flavor, and mesmerizing high. To check it out for yourself just stop by Monko ASAP and don't forget to tell them you heard about it on Toker's Guide!
