  • Frosty OG - District Firehouse

Frosty OG is an indica-dominant hybrid (65/35) with an unknown heritage from top-notch DC i-71 service District Firehouse. The smell of this strain immediately reminds me of a fresh, dewey, and dank pine forest in the early morning of Northern California - and not just the pine forest, but the heady smell of it's inhabitants wake-and-bake sessions too. We have myrcene, the dominant terpene in Frosty OG, to thank for its potent skunk-ness and heavy indica high. As any top-shelf indica should, its buds are covered in trichomes, looking like the frosted flowers on a glass window in the dead of winter. The sheer abundance of the trich's makes this batch a sight to see, with many falling off at the touch and leaving an exceptionally sticky layer of resin on your hands. It’s the icing on the cake and proves that she lives up to her name. I recommend this strain for cozying up to a good book or talking to an old friend on the phone; this indica high isn’t all-consuming like other strains can be, but doing any crucial work while getting “frosted” could kill your buzz. Its effect is a more cerebral one that takes over your senses within minutes. This initial rush prepares you for the mellow state you’ll fall deeper and deeper into when toking on Frosty OG. The high felt mildly psychoactive, making it ideal for creatives like myself who maybe need an extra push when brainstorming. I deal with indigestion and headaches, and immediately after consumption I recalled what my life was like before I dealt with those issues, reclaimed that feeling, and all my stress seemed to melt away. I also experienced deep REM sleep like never before. Be sure to pair this bud with a glass of water to ease any cotton mouth and enjoy in the evening time for sure. • High Society - Puff Puff DC

High Society from Puff Puff DC is a straight heater sativa-dominant hybrid cross between Biscotti and Jet Fuel Gelato. Its intoxicating high and petro-laden diesel flavor makes me think of it like the cannabis equivalent of an espresso at a wine bar. It's rich, aromatic, and delicious, but also so energy inducing you could find yourself in a scintillating conversation for hours. Isn't that what "high society" is all about? Upon opening the package and breaking up these buds, you’ll be hit with their gas-packed aroma and sweet pastry notes. The terpene profile is second to none with high levels of caryophyllene and limonene from its parents, providing mouthwatering peppery, petrol flavors. Each exhale is an offsetting sweet, creamy release. As she burns, you might also pick up on fresh berry notes with pungent, spicy undertones. The buds are tightly packed but easily malleable, with copious amounts of trichomes like the frothy “crema” layer on espresso or creamy head on a beer. Hues of pale purple and green appear throughout. Sensations of euphoria and bursts of creative thinking are fast-acting and onset rapidly, overwhelming your mind while a tingling sensation makes its way through your body. “High” Society is a stand-out high that’s on point, and an excellent choice if you’re a lover of strong sativas. • Garlic Cookies - LOCAL'd

For a local grown, indica-heavy, hard-hitting batch of Garlic Cookies look no further than local-only DC i-71 delivery service, LOCAL'd. This harvest came out quite nice and the heavy gassy garlicky aroma is just so obviously intoxicating the only remaining question is: Will this type of garlic ward off vampires? We each had our questions and concerns on the issue and decided it would be best to smoke some more to gain additional insight. After reaching another plane of spacey stoniness we were all able to come to the consensus that 1). Vampires do exist because there are bats that drink blood and 2). given their strong sense of smell these Garlic Cookies would probably draw them in for a closer look not scare them away. Yet, in reference to human vampires, we decided that 3). any of these Garlic Cookies would render them uninterested in drinking blood, but probably give them intense munchies. Can you tell how stoned we were? A crossbreed of legendary Chemdawg and famed Girl Scout Cookies, Garlic Cookies runs around 90% indica (90/10) on the spectrum and is known for a strong sense of sedation and euphoria. The aroma alone, is enough to knock you backwards into horizontal mode. Definitely save this one for the evening sessions AND make sure your fridge is well-stocked. To get some of these Garlic Cookies for your pot pantry and make your local neighborhood vampires more docile than ever, just hit up LOCAL'd and place your delivery order today. • White Nerds - Euphoria DC

Nerds, also known as Nerdz, is a nearly 50/50 hybrid crossbreed of Strawberry Cough and Grape Ape. To get "White Nerds", however, they've added the influence of Berry White, a cross of Blueberry and White Widow. Regardless of how the "nerds" who made these Nerds did it, you can find an excellent batch of the strain at i-71 storefront and day spa, Euphoria DC. The aroma is intensely fruit forward with a flavor that is nearly the same but with some earthy, gassy notes as well. It's hard to place the type of fruit it most resembles, though, because it seems to change from puff to puff. What flavor is the candy version of White Nerds anyways? Fruit Punch? I think that label would apply in this case as well. Rolling her in a joint was the way to go with this specimen and we found the suggested 50/50 stance to be spot on in terms of effects. We could run, we could play, we could sit and do complex math equations all day. Ok so maybe not that last one so much - it just sounded right given the name we're working with here. 🤓 Most notable, aside from the aroma and flavor, was the coloration. A beautifully bright lime green, the nugs were fresh and frosty coated. Their texture was still somewhat spongy and breaking it up led to the, expected, sticky fingers ordeal. To get your hands on some of these phenomenally fruity White Nerds just head over to Euphoria DC today. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!

  • Giggle Sticks - Elevated Lounge DC

I'm pretty much in love with these Giggle Sticks from DC i-71 (recreational) storefront Elevated Lounge. If you were at our recent event, Sunday Sessions at Crooked Run Fermentation (March date to be announced soon!), hopefully you got to experience one of these hefty "pre-rolls". The air was quite filled with their essence as well as a bit more laughter than usual. Each "Giggle Stick" is a full gram of material from their top recent strains blended together with a wooden tip at the end. They are what I would typically call "fat" and the contents are kept so fresh by the individual tubes that when you spark one, you should always do it like a cigar. Even with the tubes the aroma can still emerge, so to keep the funky scent from flowing into disapproving peoples' areas entirely grab one of these mobile vacuum sealer systems from Canabosem. They're super portable, easy to use, and powered by your phone. The Giggle Sticks travel well in their pack of tubes, but with a Canabosem you can go into super stealth mode. With four (4) in a pack you can either keep them with you for the party, or share them with the party - either way you'll probably be the life of the party. Just make sure everyone is aware that these ARE called "Giggle Sticks" for a reason. Sometimes with beverages flowing, some good-humored people, and a round of Giggle Sticks, it can lead to chain snorking (verb: to drink something and have it come out your nose because you're laughing so hard). 😂 You've been warned! To get your own pack just head to Glover Park area DC i-71 storefront Elevated Lounge ASAP. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you for your special bonus gift!

  • Grape Grenade - District Derp

One company that is paying extra close attention to quality while maintaining a super high level of customer service is DC i-71 pick-up and delivery service District Derp. They've been making our job especially easy because they've consistently had such high quality flower - and this Grape Grenade is no exception - but we've also received very fond feedback from our audience members recently as well. While its lineage is somewhat of a mystery, I did some digging and found that this is the indica-heavy love child of G-13 and Grapevine. What a delicious combo! If you're not familiar with the staggeringly potent effects of government research's own indica #1, G-13, then this is a chance to come close. Appropriately named, the grape aroma and flavor are on point and reminiscent of those little Welch's juice boxes kids love. You know, the healthier ones made with real grape juice that don't turn your whole mouth purple from food coloring. Anyhow, it's more of a sugary grape aroma, as opposed to synthetic, when it comes to this Grape Grenade. In terms of effects, I always like a kushy indica for relaxing in the evening hours and this fits that category perfectly. Think G13-like euphoria with Do-Si-Dos-esque sedation wrapped in a blanket of exotic grape. To get some for your weekend stash just hit up District Derp and place your pup-painted art order ASAP. I hear they are dropping more of the strain with this review so it should be readily available!

  • Scotti Cake - Cannabear

If you take Gelato 41, cross it with Animal Mintz, and then cross that with Biscotti, the result is this absolutely spectacular Scotti Cake (aka Scotti's Cake) from Cannabear DC. With an uplifting and euphoric feeling that leaves you almost starstruck at first, we'd say this batch is either just slightly indica leaning or near 50/50. Aside from their gorgeous appearances, the aroma and flavor are the most notable aspects about these buds. They're skunky, gassy, but also very sweet and floral in nose. In flavor the gassy notes shine but there's something exotic and tropical there too. The light coloration of its greens versus the purple hued tips give it an almost intimidating look. Clearly harvested locally and gifted in jars, the bud structure is entirely intact and it's never seen the inside of a bag. You can sense the TLC that went into making this such a fine, fine specimen even through the glass on the jar. If you were to display some in your cannabis trophy case (doesn't everyone have a cannabis trophy case?) with accent lighting people might think it was a winning entry from a community floriculture contest. Those not in the know might ask, "Where did you travel to find such an exotic looking flower?" 🧐😂 At the end of your joint or the top of your bowl is another place where true quality can be discerned. If it burns with a hyper-white ash, this is an indicator of the finest natural nutrients and a proper flush. In the bong the ash on this Scotti Cake quickly turned to a ghostly white. • Half Pint - Flight Pass DC

Hey everyone! I'd like to direct your attention to U St. area DC i-71 storefront, Flight Pass. They've got some gorgeous, fresh flower that is superbly grown and, appropriately, placed in glass stash jars. Of their rotating menu we were gifted, or should I say blessed, with samples of their Half Pint. As soon as I cracked the jar we were greeted with astoundingly delicious and complex aromas. The Half Pint stood out as sugary, creamy, and almost vanilla with sweet butterscotch and skunky undertones. Old school heads might remember Great White Shark (GWS) as an awesome cultivar that had a really nice butterscotch aroma and flavor when done properly. The Half Pint took me aback for a moment as my olfactory memories of the GWS came flying forward in my mind. A rare 50/50 crossbreed of Runtz and Face Off OG, I felt a swift head rush, strong euphoria, a creative mind, and the energy to crush my to-do list, all with a goofy smile on my face. It takes something special to get me buzzing that nicely these days, but this Half Pint more than did the trick. I'm not sure why they call it "Half Pint" when it gets you so fully stoned! To get some for your own collection just head over to DC storefront Flight Pass today. There's no TSA involved and your feet won't actually leave the ground, but even seasoned tokers should prepare for take off with the level of gifts they have on standby. • Mimosa - Buddha Buddy

Mimosa from Buddha Buddy in DC is a sativa dominant hybrid (70/30) created by crossing Purple Punch and Clementine. With near perfect sativa effects and named after the Sunday brunch cocktail, she doesn’t cause any jitters or racing thoughts. This is a good one if you like to “wake and bake" — the ideal early morning pick-me-up and jumpstart to the day. I’d also suggest Mimosa to creatives looking for cerebral stimulation, those suffering from chronic fatigue, or for anyone to toke on before hitting the gym, doing housework, or taking a trek outdoors. Mimosa actually won second place at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2018, and was noted by the judges for its energizing effects and tangerine taste. I reckon the flavors of this strain would pair finely with a cup of coffee or some breakfast food. Mimosa has high levels of linalool and limonene, known to be mood boosters, and caryophyllene, a stress reliever. A light tingle will affect your body, rather than the head high that can accompany other sativa-oriented strains, and the end result will be a clear head and laser-sharp focus. The plant is a sight to behold with dense oversized cone-shaped buds that are olive-green with milky-white trichomes and sprawling, thick orange pistils that wrap around like vines on a brick wall. It’s also coated in a sugary resin that’ll leave you with sticky fingers if you’re breaking it up by hand. Don’t pass up this opportunity to smoke the equivalent of organic orange juice and bubbling champagne from DC i-71 delivery service Buddha Buddy DC!

  • Pie Hoe - District Derp

If you haven't had a chance to try District Derp, they're your friendly DC purveyor of dog-painted abstract art and a gifter of consistently great weed. This time around we were stoked to check out a sample of their Pie Hoe, which is one of the most complex and enjoyable aftertastes that I've had recently. An indica dominant crossbreed of Grape Pie and Tahoe OG, the pie flavor is very evident. But, what kind of pie are we talking about here? That is, indeed, the great question. You would assume a grape pie since that's in the name, however, the Tahoe influence has put a unique spin on the fruitiness of this batch, yielding what is more like a mixed berry pie. Each hit, though, seemed to have different berry notes. To top it off the aftertaste is in the realm of gassy and skunky. This was the case in either the bowl or rolled in a joint. The joint, in the end, was the way to go, providing the greatest sense of the powerhouse flavor that awaits. What a mouth pleaser! Regarding effects, there's a great body buzz but the mental energy and physical comfort will leave you desiring to move about and do things versus lounge around and slay your refrigerator. This is the case even though it's said to run 60/40 indica dominant. Note that some indicas are just more energetic than others. To get some new wall decor and the perfect treat for making the chore of hanging said painting an adventure in and of itself, just give DC i-71 service District Derp a shout today and order up some of this Pie Hoe. • Oreo - DC Dash

Now famous delivery service DC Dash sprinted by me on their way to their next customer and magically a sample of this Oreo strain appeared in my hand - these guys are quick! 😉 An indica dominant crossbreed of Cookies 'N Cream and Secret Weapon, Oreo - also known as Oreoz or Oreo Cookies - is for those in need of a sweet, sedative treat. Which means it's a good thing that I waited until the evening to partake in its starry-eyed splendor. Slightly more dry than we'd prefer, the necessary sweet, spicy, nutty, and chocolatey notes were still present when breaking it up. An immediately redeeming factor was the insane amount of kief that fell off onto the rolling tray. Yes, the trichomes were highly abundant with this specimen. To give this Oreo strain a try place your gift order with DC Dash ASAP. Don't forget to use promo code "TOKERS" to get 15% OFF!

  • Sherbacio - Euphoria DC

Sherbacio, from DC i-71 storefront Euphoria Healing & Wellness in DC, is a cross between Sunset Sherbet and Gelato #41. An even hybrid (50/50) with a whopping 34% THC level, this strain can become easily sedative and almost narcotic in terms of effects. As such it's been suggested that pro smokers consume it in the evening and novice smokers take it easy. As for me, I enjoyed getting "sherbed out" all day and into the night. Note that this includes some hefty cotton mouth so be sure to bring hydration. Noted for being a “mood-shifter,” I would personally submit that stress, pain, and anxiety were also no match for this Sherbacio. With bold flavors, a mouth-watering terpene profile, and a sweet caramel flavored yet gassy finish, you could definitely label it as a “lip smacker” as well. In the name “Sherbacio”, the "bacio" comes from Italian Bacio gelato (chocolate mixed with hazelnuts) and your palate will thank you for the expansion. With gentle earthy undertones, the majority of the aroma is like that of sugar cookies mixed in a blender with candied syrup. Then add berries, lemon zest and somehow a smooth, creamy finish. Are we talking about weed still? When rolled in a joint or packed in a bowl, that same aroma is so strong it will quickly permeate what seems like your entire body and the surrounding area as well. Light it up, take a puff, and you’ll feel it grip your lungs as soon as you exhale, resulting in an immediate and powerful head high. This soon morphs to include a warm glow of a body buzz too. The rich purple buds are dense and doused in glistening trichomes. When ground up, you’ll notice that pastels abound with pale purples and glacial greens. The hairs are bright orange, camouflaged by a heavy dosing of deep purple leaves. With a whole body, euphoric high and lots of inner-dialogue, I dare to say this strain is world-class in terms of effects. Well worthy of the fine canna-spa establishment that is Euphoria DC.
