Zeroz by District Cannabis - Curaleaf Gaithersburg (Maryland Recreational)

Strain: Zeroz

Market: Maryland Recreational

Overall Rating: 9.2/10

Lean: Balanced Hybrid

Initial Thoughts

Zero, as a name, is false advertising in the best direction. That's the joke District Cannabis is playing with Zeroz, whether they meant it or not: the strain named for nothing has nothing to apologize for. Value-shelf flower testing at 28.2% is the kind of line item that makes you re-read the menu to check you got the row right. We checked. You did.

Zeroz - product photo

Appearance

Compact nugs, slightly conical, medium green with purple flecks and bright orange pistils. The frost is decent - not the glitter-bomb you get on the top-shelf jars, but a respectable coat. Here's the value-shelf fine print: expect some popcorn-sized pieces in the mix. Small buds smoke the same as big ones. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling the big ones.

Status

This batch tests at 28.2% from the value shelf, a combination worth remembering the next time a budtender steers you toward something fancier with three fewer points on the label. Curaleaf Gaithersburg is the lead stop for District's Zeroz; Chesapeake Apothecary, White Plains and Curaleaf Reisterstown carry it too. Value shelves rotate fast, so when you see it, buy it. Don't bookmark it.

Aroma

Sweet and fruity straight out of the jar, with a tropical lean and a slightly sour edge, the way a mango smells the day before it's perfect. Grind it and a faint gas layer surfaces underneath. No lab terpene data is on current DMV menus for Zeroz, so this is reported aroma rather than measured, but the fruit-first, gas-second order is the consensus.

Flavor

Candy-sweet on the inhale. Berry, some tropical fruit, no bitterness up front. The exhale turns gassy and earthy, which keeps the whole thing from tasting like a vape cart. The surprise is how smooth it is: by the reports we've seen, smoother than most value-shelf flower, and frankly smoother than some top-shelf jars. Zero harshness. There's that number again.

Lineage

Undisclosed. District hasn't published the parents, and the name gives us nothing to work with, which may be the point. We don't guess at parentage here, so the family tree for Zeroz is, for now, a blank. Zero data. Consistent, at least.

Effects

Onset is relaxed and quick. Within a few minutes it turns happy, a clean mood lift with no edge. Then the hunger arrives, and it arrives with intent - plan your snacks before you light this, not after, because "after" is when you'll discover you have one tortilla and a jar of olives. The euphoric plateau holds for a comfortable stretch, and the landing is easy. No crash, no couch-lock, no catch.

Conclusion

Zeroz is the eighth you buy when you want to stop overthinking the menu. It suits the daily smoker who runs the numbers, the first-timer who doesn't want to gamble on a name they don't know, and anyone who has suspected that the potency hierarchy on most menus is mostly marketing. A name that promises nothing, a jar that over-delivers, zero complaints. The math is the review.
