- Secret Weapon - Elevated Lounge
This is another one of those "Hurry up or you'll miss it" batches, but this one I really encourage all of you to lay eyes on. It's incredible. Full stop. In the intergalactic battle for supreme DC i-71 storefront, Elevated Lounge just put the rest of the scene on notice with this Secret Weapon. Secret Weapon is a sativa dominant hybrid running at about 60/40 on the sativa/indica ratio - which is pretty much exactly where I like my daytime strains to be. It's a cross of Cheese Quake and White Widow, which are what you might call "legacy" cultivars due to their presence in many other lineages. Personally, I think this is a for real secret weapon not to be taken lightly. I mean, if you were to float some of this over enemy lines, not only would they be unable not to partake in its splendor, but they would and become passively stoned and docile. Their interests would quickly switch to music, food, and perhaps a goofy outdoor game. Back on the home front, the friendlies would have all engaged in toking it as well and....poof...no more war. In all seriousness, though, the potency of this batch cannot be overstated! While the flavor and aroma are hard to place, to me the longer you perform olfactory analysis the more likely you are to come up with some ridiculous combination like "jelly beans in a pine forest", for example. I guess the takeaway here is just how exquisitely complex and exotic these buds, in fact, are - absolutely some of the best in the last three months. To add this Secret Weapon to your arsenal just head on over to Glover Park area storefront Elevated Lounge DC and visit their super polite, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. - Candyland - DC Dash
Happy Friday! If you're reading this, you're probably bored and would rather be toking on some sweet, sweet cheeba. Wouldn't we all! In the spirit of that notion, I present to you a surprisingly productive daytime varietal by the name of Candyland from now famed DC i-71 delivery service, DC Dash. It's a sativa-heavy hybrid cross of flavor favs Grandaddy Purps and Platinum Cookies and its aroma is one of the more exotic ones you'll find in the Cookies crossbreed category. Running around 70/30 on the sativa/indica ratio you can grab some really heady highs while ripping this down in the bong, but the energy and creative levels will still afford you the ability to perform at almost any necessary tasks. The coloration is spectacular, with such deep deep blues and purples, all in stark contrast to the thick blazing orange hairs. Structure wise, these buds are plump and excellently cultivated for maximum density while retaining suppleness. The trichomes are a heathy white on the outside and still starry and somewhat fresh on the inside. It's clear these were done by a highly professional outfit. You may be taken aback by the initial, highly potent aroma emanating from this batch, but keep wafting or grab it and give it a crack, then the rich and creamy notes will come pouring out. This translates into a creamy flavor with a sweet and bready aftertaste - very complex and exotic. To get some of this Candyland for your Friday adventures just set up a delivery with DC Dash today. If you're into the idea that buying local and supporting local businesses is of paramount importance right now, like we are, then you should check out FULLY local DC i-71 delivery service LOCAL'd. They sell local made products like chocolate bars, cookies, and even pizzas (not infused, just standard food products), while gifting local grown cannabis. ...and when I say local, I mean super local. We would just ask for jars, maybe local ones even, in the future. A highly rare pure indica crossbreed of Triangle Kush and '88 G13 Hashplant, these earthy, vanilla and citrus flavored buds are ready to be rolled up and to launch the nearest toker into a euphoric state of sedated bliss. The signature calling card of any great indica, the body buzz on this batch is, perhaps, its most notable trait. - Purple Starburst - Euphoria DC
Sometimes we get a sample of some absolute fire and we have to throw it up pretty much right when we get it so you, the audience, can to try to capture it before it disappears. After all, some of these super exotic buds are highly elusive creatures. Catch them while you can! This is most definitely the case with this Purple Starburst from rising star DC i-71 (recreational) storefront and wellness spa, Euphoria DC. It's a 50/50 hyrbid on the sativa/indica ratio and it's lineage is quite mythical with Starburst OG and Purple Punch as parents. But, would you just look at all these crazy white trichomes everywhere! It's so aggressively kief covered that my camera started to get overwhelmed just trying to deal. They're like little bursting balls of dusty, citrusy, goodness. Just by looking at the pack they came in, which was so blurry you could barely see the contents inside through the typically clear plastic, you could tell it was something to behold. Let's talk about this orange aroma for a second too. This and the very recently reviewed Orange Zkittles have a very close smell when it comes to the intensity of the orange-ness. If you close your eyes and take a big whiff of both (separately) you'll get the sense that you're standing among a grove of orange or tangerine trees. With the Zkittles that grove will seem more tropical like Costa Rica or the Caribbean while with this Purple Starburst the orange trees are growing somewhere even more exotic like Madagascar or Durban. To grab some of this phenomenal Purple Starburst for yourself, and maybe a massage and some CBD balm as well, head over to Euphoria DC ASAP. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Orange Zkittles - District Derp
The zesty citrus nose on this batch of Orange Zkittles from DC i-71 pup art deliverers, District Derp, is just too delicious to pass up. A cross of the obvious Zkittles and the non-so-obvious, citrus super star, Agent Orange, this cultivar runs precisely 50/50 on the indica/sativa spectrum and has been known to often exceed 25% THC in testing. It's the kind of brittle, but sticky buds that may not be 15 shades of purple, but are extremely potent nonetheless. It's structure also means it breaks up perfectly for rolling or packing in the bowl. For me the flavor rich orange zest experience resonates best in the bong because it allows me to chill the air and smooth the already smooth toke that much more. Note that Derp actually goes the extra bit and seals their mylar packs. This benefit is two fold, with freshness retained and odor contained. With mylar packs, if it's not heat sealed, you may think you've wrangled the smell, but you haven't. Case in point, after breaking the seal on this pack I closed it and left my place for a little while. When I came back the whole house smelled as if I lived in some sort of enchanted orchard. If they're serving up citrus forward and terpene rich buds like these in aforementioned orchard, I'd live there happily ever after. For your own Orange Zkittles fairytale adventure, just hit up District Derp and setup a delivery ASAP. Don't forget to use promo code "DERPTOKERSGUIDE" to get 10% off your pup art order!
- Cosmic Blue Dream - Top Level DC
We're super stoked to welcome DC i-71 storefront Top Level DC to the fold. We've been very impressed by their attention to quality so far and their system of Cosmic, Galactic, and Moonwalker flower levels means you can select the out of this world experience that your tolerance level can handle. Needless to say we opted for the full blast off to the highest, Cosmic level. It was there that we found a quite lofty version of Blue Dream. While I haven't seen Blue Dream in a while, it's usually not something that makes me go "over the moon" with excitement, but this batch was different. It's still fresh, completely trich'd out, and it's the sort of color that they used to think martians were. The two most remarkable aspects, to me, are the enormity of the fiery orange hairs and the insanely delectable aroma. The scent seriously took me back to a level of elation that I reached the first time I encountered a fruity, citrusy, yet cheesy and creamy mega batch of Blue Dream. The flavor, similar in kind to the smell, immediately lets you know you're in for a treat and, upon exhale, prepare for the ensuing head rush. If you're not familiar - I say this because it has been a wildly popular strain over the past ten years - Blue Dream is a sativa dominant hybrid crossbreed of famed indica Blueberry and legendary sativa staple, Haze. The energy levels afforded by this strain are often spent rapidly orbiting around the creative space of your own mind. It's an absolutely cerebral, heady high, but with indica influence notable in the sometimes tingly body buzz. Keep this one in the "daytime" stash box for sure. Just to give a quick shoutout to their jar game. These are well designed, professional, and highly functional jars with childproof caps. We wish everyone took their gift packaging this seriously! Overall, it's been great to have some really nice Blue Dream around again and we thank Top Level DC for the opportunity. - OG Lime Killer, Curio Wellness - HerbaFi Silver Spring, MD
34%+ isn't a question. It's the answer. The real question here is are you a Jackalope (jackrabbit antelope) or Basselope (basset hound antelope) person? Jackalope? Basselope? You know they're real, right? One is known to swill whiskey while singing a sweet tenor tune before biting a leg clean off and the other has a top secret life as the X-15 Cruise Basselope capable of delivering a 6 megaton payload. What a conundrum. You know what's not an enigma? OG Lime Killer, a cross between award-winning Starkiller OG and Lemon OG Haze, and its big beautiful buds testing at 34%+. This flower definitely has horns and carries a big payload. Curio's flower is sold in sturdy off-white or cream-colored plastic tubes with black friction fitting tops. While the friction is enough to seal the container it isn't how I'd want to store flower of this quality for any length of time. The first sniff of these plump firm nugs reminds me first of an earthiness verging on coffee with after notes of citrus. Burnt orange hairs and glistening tan trichomes wink and nod with the deep wisdom of how best to answer Jackalope vs Basselope. A quick grind brings out more of the namesake citrus notes. Thick hearty smoke delivers earthy sweet pepper hit after hit. While packing the second bowl, I realized OG Lime Killer and I were deep in a philosophical conversation comparing the best bagels in the freezer. Basselope... Jackapole... whatever. Imma get on this everything bagel with melty cheese and maybe another bowl. Who knows? OG Lime Killer from Curio delivers a mythical payload! Hit up HerbaFi Silver Spring and get some today. - Lemon Biscotti - No Kids Allowed
One of the best varietals I've had a chance to roll up this year (so far) is this Lemon Biscotti from DC i-71 storefront, No Kids Allowed. With a stack of OCB virgin rolling papers and a handful of this L.B. (as it came to be called) I must say, we had no problem enhancing an already super fun snow day walkabout. Here's why... With a very healthy amount of fresh kief covering each and every bud we can tell that both the genetics and the level of cultivation were very high. The diverse array of colors and brighter, livelier greens also help to indicate both caliber and freshness are dialed-in. A cross of Lemon Frosting and the famed Biscotti you'd be correct in guessing that aroma and flavor are strong points with this batch. Wafting some of the aroma toward your nose, the first notes to hit you are definitely citrus, but they are very quickly followed by something much like a sweet bread or cake, making your mouth water with excitement. These same olfactory aspects are magnified and passed onto the flavor in greater abundance when toked. The very best way to experience all of this deliciousness, in its most traditional form, of course, is by joint. Even the structure is ideal for rolling as it breaks up in a gritty way with the citrus aroma fully released and not too much overt stickiness to clog or bungle the job. To take a stab at rolling some of this indica-heavy hybrid designer strain for yourself, just head on over to the Eastern Market area of DC and visit storefront No Kids Allowed. - Bacio - Elevated Lounge
Attention Connoisseurs! This batch of Bacio at DC i-71 storefront Elevated Lounge is utterly phenomenal. Superbly grown by a master craftsman, the buds are beefy, the nose is so pungent it was recently characterized as "violent", and it hits like heavyweight champ taking whatever PED Jake Paul is on. You gotta check this one out! A roughly 50/50 hybrid crossbreed of Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, this has effects that are literally the best of both worlds. You've got the stoning, eye-drooping, indica influence that will turn up the ends of almost anyone's mouth into a grin. Then you've got the creative headspace and energetic glow of some stupendous sativa heredity. This hit just perfectly for me and took out all of the things that were ailing me for quite a bit longer than usual. While the THC percentage is unclear, I would say we are easily running above 25%. The oversized nature of almost every aspect of each bud's anatomy is a dead giveaway that, from a cultivation perspective, this is most definitely from a sophisticated hydroponics setup with all the bells and whistles including CO2 and high end nutrients. The complex nature of the aroma and flavor, on the other hand, will have you playing guessing games about which exotic flavor you just experienced. Was that creamy strawberry mixed with notes of vanilla and hazelnut? You bet! Take another hit and tell me which part of the gelato parlor's options you get this time. It may not be a gelato parlor or ice cream store, but Elevated Lounge has this and way more than 31 other flavors of delightful flower options. Head on over and grab some for yourself today and don't forget to tell them you heard about it on Toker's Guide!
- Vanilla & Hazelnut Infused Coffee Syrups - Farm To Couch (DC I-71)
Top of the morning to all ye tokers out there! I'd like to share with you how I'm putting some pep in my step AND some zig in my zag this fine, but frigid Friday morning. I typically prefer my coffee black, but with a little touch of either the vanilla or hazelnut infused coffee syrups from DC i-71 service Farm To Couch the flavor and warm, fuzzy effects become just too enticing. They say these things sell like hot cakes, which is a little strange because they sure look like coffee syrups to me 😂. Joking aside it is not hard at all to see why they would have trouble keeping these on their shelves. With 300mg total per bottle and at 98% THC, just a little dab will do. More precisely they offer that each teaspoon is 10MG, so depending on your tolerance level, you can be pretty calculated with your servings or each cuppa Joe. I'd also like to point out how beautifully done these little bottles are. With the Farm To Couch logo laser etched onto the glass you can tell that they've put a lot of time into getting this to the current level of sophistication, and I'd say they've put even more attention into the delicious contents as well. Another advantage of these bottles is how smoothly you can deploy them in almost any setting. I work from coffee shops and shared office space on occasion and I can just set this on any table or desk without a second glance from anyone. The only challenge is when someone inquires and wants to try it, and this has only led to great conversations so far. So hit up Farm To Couch DC today to grab some of these fabulous infused coffee syrups for yourself. Don't forget to tell them you heard about it on Toker's Guide!
- Gummiez by Organic Wellness - Herbal Alternatives (DC Medical)
Bred by Organic Wellness and available at DC medical marijuana dispensary Herbal Alternatives, this new batch of Gummiez is quite spectacular in both form and effects. A cross of Peach Ringz and Jet Fuel Gelato (aka Jetlatto, which is Jet Fuel x Gelato) she runs sativa dominant and packs all the active mind, creative energy you could want, along with some feel good vibes as well. From a flavor perspective, there's debate in my mouth as to whether this is fruit forward or petro forward. There are certainly notes of lemon, but these are balanced by something that is gassy one minute and almost coffee-like the next. In the end I believe the petro won out and was, inevitably, what had me coming back for much, much more. Given the sativa influence, the structure is a bit more lanky than you'll find with those of a stronger indica heritage, but regardless, the cultivation caliber here is wonderfully superb. The trichomes, all fresh and twinkling at me, are not only representative of the cultivation excellence at hand, but also emblematic of the type of starry-eyed buzz you'll be running around with post session. To add this delectable and potent selection to your coffers, grab your medical marijuana card from any state and head to Herbal Alternatives stat. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
