- Lemon Cherry - DC Dash
Lemon Cherry, a potent hybrid now on the menu at i-71 cannabis delivery service DC Dash, is a pheno of Lemon Cherry Gelato where the best qualities of the strain shine through to create an epically tasty treat. The typical flavor profile and giggly effects of the LCG are certainly there, but to me there's an extra level of headiness to this batch as well. Cracking open my bag released an instant cloud of sweet smells wafting into my room. Strong fruit notes emerged first, with definite earthy undertones and just a touch of gas to provide an extra kick. I detected a bit of sourness as well, in the best way - like a neon gummy worm or a glass of pink lemonade. These buds are beautiful, with a thick coating of gritty white and starry trichomes, as if someone had taken the trimmed flower and dragged it through their kief collector before packaging it. Clearly they hadn't, but this was the appearance nonetheless. With a glance, the trained eye can see that this is a highly potent toke. Rolled in a joint, the flavor was pleasant and mild. The sourness comes through, and so does a bit of sweetness. It burned super smooth and the “lemon” flavor comes through much more strongly than the cherry or gassy flavors. This is thanks to the presence of limonene, the terpene found in citrus fruit peels that makes them taste and smell so lovely. My first impression was that this LCG had some kick to it. I felt bright and giggly and chatty - an instant mood boost after a long day at work. Despite being tired, I found that my LCG helped me stay focused and positive as I finished the rest of the day’s chores before heading to bed. And when I was done, I settled in for a deep, cozy, comfy sleep. Overall, this Lemon Cherry looks good, smells good, and tastes good. It perked me up and then put me down easy. I will, for sure, be going out of my way to get it again. If you want some too, hit up DC Dash and tell them Toker’s Guide sent you!
- Lemon Cherry Oreoz - Flower Ave
A trend that I've been seeing in the Washington DC cannabis market recently is the demand for and continuous presence of the lemon cherry flavor profile. Most frequently, this has been various harvests of Lemon Cherry Gelato, many of them quite spectacular. In the case of this review specimen DC recreational (i-71) cannabis gifting and delivery service, Flower Ave, has brought forth a super rare and highly exotic lemon cherry skewed batch of Oreoz. Going by the name Lemon Cherry Oreoz it's as intimidating in its massive terp-filled aroma as it is in appearance. The nose is so pungent on this flower that when you open the pack you almost want to turn your head away and say "pheeeewwww" for a moment. Then the cannabis tilt to your brain will quickly point out that "wait, we like this smell!" After a long waft I was able to break through the overt skunky and pine filled fumes to reach something much like a black cherry lollipop. It was practically perfume the aroma was so strong and inundating of the nostrils. Running what seems like slightly indica dominant, Lemon Cherry Oreoz feels a bit more energetic than the normally more sedative and indica heavy Oreoz strain - which is a cross of Cookies N Cream and Secret Weapon. To speculate, this could be a cross of Oreoz and Lemon Cherry Gelato, and that's probably my best guess. Hits of this from the bong will result in intense euphoria and a mouth full of flavor for minutes after exhale. Those daring enough can roll it up to get an ooey, gooey, rich, and creamy Gelato profile that's awesome, but crazy strong. I kind of equate this richness and potency to a decadent chocolate dessert that you can't finish. It's SO good, but eventually you have to draw the line. To experience the truly astounding terpene ride of this Lemon Cherry Oreoz for yourself just hit up Flower Ave and place your order today. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Handicap Gummy by Jokes Up! - Cheeba DC
Handicap Gummy is a name we're not super keen on for this otherwise awesome "Joke's Up!" designer cut currently available at DC recreational (i-71) storefront Cheeba DC. This is because we don't condone what some of the bag art depicts - a tragically injured gummy bear in a wheel chair smoking a blunt. We love gummy bears and would never want to see any of them hurt! That said, we do have a duty to report on the best weed in DC and this is certainly a batch of flower that we want everyone to know about. So, without further delay, I give you: Handicap Gummy... Perhaps, the bag art is actually a good thing, though? People are always talking about how they don't want cannabis products to look like candy so that kids don't get confused. Isn't this, at least, a little less confusing? The gummy bear has a face tattoo of an ice cream cone for crying out loud! Anyhow, we're unsure about the lineage or genetics of this varietal, but my guess would be that there's some Gummiez and some Gelato involved. Definitely give this one a grind and throw it in your best hemp wrap or Raw paper. The mega piney, hashy, slightly fruity flavor tastes exquisite on the palate and burns like a dream. In terms of effects, it seems like a balanced hybrid and has some immense euphoria that will envelop you and leave you in stoney bliss for hours. It's calming, but not too sedating and there's a strongly cerebral aspect to the buzz as well. The potency was clear to me as soon as I spied the heavy amount of trichomes blanketing each bud, but this was confirmed once smoked and as the mesmerizing high set in. Head on over to Cheeba DC today to grab some of these Handicap Gummy packs for your own exotic designer cannabis collection. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Petro Chem by Alt Sol - Takoma Wellness Center (DC Medical)
If you're into sativas but having trouble finding them at top-shelf quality in DC, look no further than this batch of Petro Chem from craft medical cultivators Alt Sol. Currently available at DC medical marijuana dispensary, Takoma Wellness Center, these flowers are loaded with terpenes and exude a powerful gassy aroma along with invigorating cerebral effects. As a sativa enthusiast myself I must say, it really got my motor running!🏎 The strain Petro Chem is a cross of Original Glue and MoonBow #75 that sometimes fits more of a 50/50, balanced profile. Not so in this case, as Alt Sol selected and bred this pheno to express greater sativa traits resulting in a more energetic and up-lifting experience. Testing at a walloping 29% THC, this harvest also happens to be one of the most potent to come down in DC this season so far - at least from a medical cannabis perspective. It's certainly a "high octane" varietal on nearly every metric. Not for the newbies, test drive her in your bong to unlock the next level head-rush and headband-like feelings at initial onset. Then hold on as the driving, palpable buzz inundates every part of your body. Use this energetic force to create, explore, and even have spontaneous dance parties in your living room. Just be sure to do it in the day time or you might find yourself racing through the night. You may also sense an eagerness to converse with others and, perhaps, talk a bit too much. At the end of our official Toker's Guide "examination" of this strain there was a party-like vibe in the air and the people who partook were gabbing and giggling loudly about how they got "petro'd". If it was the 1960's I guess you might even say that everyone was having a "gas". ⛽️ To take this Alt Sol Petro Chem for a spin yourself just grab your medical paperwork (from any state - full reciprocity), or even self-certify on site, and head to Takoma Wellness Center dispensary ASAP. - Red Runtz - The Gift Givers
This batch of Red Runtz from DC recreational cannabis delivery gurus, The Gift Givers, is so insanely covered in trichomes that our photographer found it challenging to capture the true coloration and contrasts of these buds. After a good amount of frustration he exclaimed, "These buds are just too frosty!" We beg to differ, however, and happen to think that "too frosty" is a term that doesn't really apply to our connoisseur preferences. It's more like "the frostier the better" in our book.❄️ What this means for you, oh Tokerverse, is that these buds are extremely potent and ready to induce hours of heady stoniness. An indica-dominant hybrid cross of Faygo Red Pop - named for the delicious Michigan soda - and Runtz, this Red Runtz carries an exceptionally pronounced head high that can be creativity inducing, but also disorienting. You might think it's energetic at first, but very soon a heavy feeling of calm sets in for the duration of the high. Most notable about this batch is it's magnificently citrus, fruit-forward aroma and flavor profile. It's much like Tropicanna or Tangie in intensity and even people not partaking may remark about just how fruity it is. Roll it in a joint or hemp wrap to experience the exotic citron-esque aftertaste in its full splendor. For a phenomenal toke and mesmerizing high that's sure to keep things mellow and cozy all weekend long just hit up The Gift Givers and grab some Red Runtz today. - Gelato 41 - Cannabear DC
Gelato is a cannabis strain whose name is exponentially familiar to the modern generation and which ranks among the world's most elite. DC recreational cannabis delivery service, Cannabear, is currently bringing to bear a variety of Gelato that goes by the call number 41 and has a striking aroma full of pine, skunk, and berry notes. It also runs just slightly sativa can can spawn creative potential and an energetic mind with its immense heady high. The bud I received was clearly an immense and dense top cola from a powerful plant. As a grower and humble connoisseur, I have come to appreciate and understand what having a top cola means and looks like. This palm length spear of deep forest green leafed and orange haired wonderment was covered in a layer of sugary trichomes that were super sticky and resinous. As I broke the bud up into my grinder, and my fingers began to release the interior purple flowers that lay within the outer green layer, I began to smell what my olfactory senses perceived to be a pastry of some sort. When I unscrewed my grinder to expose the fluffy spliff making material I was looking for, I was blasted in the face with an even fruiter, tangy aroma with chocolate hues. All this face inundating flavor can be attributed to the lineage of Gelato 41. A cross of Thin Mint GSC and Sunset Sherbert the smell and taste are exactly what you would expect from a combo of these names. Two of the primary terpenes responsible for the delectableness of this fine herb are humulene and linalool. This commonly occurring pair have also been associated with pain relief, anti-inflammation, and stress/anxiety reduction. If there was one word that I would use to describe the overall feeling that this batch afforded me it would be “euphoria “. It most certainly was a stress relieving experience for me, and I would highly recommend this cannabis to anyone needing to take a load off in the middle of the day while maintaining energy levels. This isn’t one that will have you knocked out after the joint has been finished. Instead, this is more rejuvenating in its spirited, cerebral affect. Don't be surprised if you grab some of this Gelato 41 from Cannabear and, upon smoking it, immediately contact again to find out if they still have more in stock. Don't forget to tell them you heard about it on Toker's Guide!
- SFV OG - The Garden
DC recreational cannabis storefront, The Garden, has this sativa-dominant hybrid cut of SFV OG on hand currently. Being familiar with this strain from numerous instances in the past, I can firmly say that this is the most exemplary batch of the San Fernando Valley OG Kush that I've ever experienced. It was expertly manicured, and the bud development was top-notch in every way. The bright vibrant greens of these nug formations were swollen with resin glands and covered with rusty reddish brown hairs all over the place. Just breaking the buds up to prepare for the grinder resulted in finger hash. The smells that intensified as I handled the buds consisted of a heavy pine and earthy, fruity aromas that were overripe and funky. The more I broke the buds up the stronger the smell became, and the unsticking of my fingers only further transformed the air around me into a smelling sensation that only a cannabis enthusiast would understand. THC levels for this strain can range from the high teens into the twenties. It is my personal opinion that this example of SFV OG is also the strongest I've had, though I have no hard metrics or testing to prove this. As I sparked the joint and prepared for the high to come to me, I exhaled a taste of pine and spice. It was heavy thick smoke that wafted away into the breeze, and I'm sure that a neighbor or two caught a whiff and wondered what I was up to. As it burned I noted the white ash and its evenness all the way through. This was a sign to me that the crop had been properly flushed and cured to near perfection. The terpene profile of SFVOG includes Linalool, Alpha Humulene, and Beta Myrcene. Linalool is a powerful terpene which has been shown to have an effect on the serotonin receptor. This can help treat conditions such as anxiety, depression, and also help to combat insomnia as well. The Humulene, also a much-studied terpene, is said to have potential cancer killing properties. Finally, Beta Myrcene has been shown to possess anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and sedative properties. Imagine what else we can learn about this strain and others with more research. Did someone say "time to reschedule"? Where you at Congress?!?!? The effects I felt from this flower were very focused and relaxing. I didn't have any couch lock, as expected, but I didn't have an overt amount of energy either. What I did have was a clear headed high and a feel good body buzz that wasn't too heavy. As for other effects, I'm not sure about these rumors, but they say that because SFV became famous in the valley where they make pornography that it has a tendency to inspire, shall we say, bedroom activities. 🤫 If you're ready to give this legendary West Coast favorite a try, then head to The Garden today and tell them you’re looking for the SFV OG. Don't forget to let them know that you heard about it on Toker's Guide!
- Pink Champagne - Elevated Lounge
If you're searching for a dazzling indica to envelop your whole body in a cozy buzz this weekend, look no further than this Pink Champagne from DC recreational cannabis storefront Elevated Lounge. It's a mellow high with strong psychedelic aspects that, like its namesake, make you bubbly, giggly, and even a little tipsy at greater levels.🥂 Its most notable trait aside from the wonderfully intoxicating effects, is its pungent aroma. A complex melding of sweet and spicy with tantalizing fruity notes that tickle the nose, it's not unlike the first waft of a newly poured glass of sparkling wine. I guess I would say it resembles more of a dry champagne than a rosé, but the coloration, replete with rich purples and violets, just wouldn't allow you to call this "white" champagne. Who says "white champagne" anyways? At that point isn't it just "champagne"? Given the structure, buzz, and exotic earthy, yet fruit-driven flavor it's not hard to guess that this is an indica-dominant hybrid. In fact, it's a cross of famed Ken's Grandaddy Purple and Cherry Pie strains that's also been known to go by the name of Raspberry Kush. Although, consensus from the Toker's Guide team is that this specimen seemed to fit the Champagne flavor profile better, and "raspberry" should be reserved for more fruit forward pheno's. To grab some of this Pink Champagne for your own coffers just head to the esteemed Elevated Lounge in the Glover Park area of DC today. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Paloma Vol. 3 by Don Merfos - Cheeba DC
Recreational storefront Cheeba DC is bringing the designer exotic fire once again with this fruity, zingy batch of Paloma Volume 3 bred by the legendary Don Merfos. Styled to be even more like the citrusy sweet tequila drink it's named for, this volume has the candy aspect of the flavor amped up further than prior volumes. Maybe it's meant to resemble a Paloma with candied sugar on the rim instead of salt? 😋 It's an indica leaning hybrid that has a veil of secrecy over its genetics, but it's easy to see why this is the case with not only a delicious flavor, but spectacular effects as well. Wouldn't you withhold its makings too? The euphoria this one brings is basically like warm sunshine on your back - the kind that gives you a fuzzy glowing feeling when you first hit the lounge chair after a dip in a resort-side pool. It's mellow, but not too drowsy, and has a slightly heady skew to it that makes socializing and chill activities seem even more enjoyable. Certainly one to take with you on vacation, we give this one two thumbs way up and a proper cheers, or should we say...¡Salud! - Gary Payton - Top Level DC
Check out this recent Gary Payton sample from DC recreational cannabis storefront, Top Level. We've seen some top notch Gary P before, but this batch is super fresh and so very aromatic that if I had to sum it up in one word it would be..."ballin!"🏀 If you're not familiar with the Gary Payton strain itself it's a balanced 50/50 hybrid cross of Snowman and a strain called "They". Developed for and named after the former NBA All Star, this bud is an All Star itself given it's striking potency, delicious flavor, and versatility for medicating day or night. In aroma, it's sugary and sweet with a touch of gassy skunkyness. This translates well into the flavor and with each exhale I was caught, taste buds confused, somewhere between savory and sweet almost like a pastry or baked good. My friend even said it reminded him of a honey bun after a huge exhale from a massive joint he rolled. To me, there were more earthy notes and I found it more reminiscent of honey and oat granola than a sticky icing-covered treat. Either way, it made for a highly delectable and potently stoning experience. To find out what delicious flavors your palate will detect and compare them to your own bakery items just hit up Top Level DC ASAP and score some Gary Payton for yourself. - Apple Fritter - Buddha Buddy
This Apple Fritter Strain from DC recreational delivery service Buddha Buddy (and also available at their storefront, The Treehouse) is as flavorful and hard hitting as I've ever seen this strain be. The buds have bag appeal for days - or in this case, "jar appeal" since Buddha Buddy presents all their varietals in a cylindrical glass container. Covered with trichomes and an unreal amount of orange pistils, these nuggets of joy really gleam in the sunlight. They also have pigments of purple sprinkled throughout and there's a distinct smell of sour fruit and cake, perhaps fruit cake? Packed with terpenes the grinder makes this already complex and funky aroma even more “loud” when breaking it up. Apple Fritter has been lab tested as high as 32% according to some reports and in 2016 it was named on the list of “World’s Strongest Strains” by High Times. Considered by many to be a perfect 50/50 hybrid it's a cross of Animal Cookies and Sour Apple. Animal Cookies is a potent indica consisting of Fire OG and GSC, while Sour Apple comes from sativa-heavy hybrids Cinderella 99 and Sour Diesel. The end result is a chronically potent variety which was hand selected to bring the best of both worlds. This herb does not come with any racing effects for me personally, nor does it have me locked down to the couch. A joint of it helped me get my morning chores done around the garden, and later, a few bong hits fueled the creativity of this very document. In flavor, the earthy citrus exhale of this flower was akin to sipping apple cider on a crisp autumn day. With a terpene profile that includes phellandrene, limonene, caryophyllene, pinene, myrcene, ocimene, humulene, linalool, and terpinolene, it’s no wonder this cannabis strain receives such high marks from so many different consumers and influencers alike. Don’t sleep on the heavy hitter that goes by the name of Apple Fritter. Hit up Buddha Buddy or head to The Treehouse in the Foggy Bottom area to grab some today. - Candy Truffle - Flight Pass
Currently available from DC recreational storefront, Flight Pass, this Candy Truffle is an exquisite smoke that easily rolls into some of the most delectable creations around. A 70/30 indica-heavy cross of Chocolate Kush and Gelato, it's not hard to see why it is so delightful from a flavor perspective. They don't use truffle pigs to hunt cannabis, but if they did, there would be one super satisfied truffle pig lounging about after uncovering this treat. 🐷 Of course, let's be sure not to give all the credit to the lineage here, as the quality of the grow cannot be discounted - these little nuggets of delight are heavily loaded with gorgeous hyper-white trichomes. We can also be confident of the freshness given the appearance, texture, and more than abundant aroma. The buzz it carries with it is also mesmerizing and almost trance inducing. The potency is for real and those hitting this in the bong may want to take a half pull at first. While the exhale is smooth on the joint, in the tube you will likely have trouble clearing it without holding back a few coughs and a snort. If it does "get you" as it got me, just keep some ice cold water on hand to help out and get ready to accept the fact that you may be wearing a perma-grin for a while. With its creamy, gassy, and sour flavor surrounded by the occasional skunky hue you can count on any stoner in your midst taking notice and inquiring. You may even find yourself, already stoned, wanting to hit it again and again just to experience the flavor and see if you can take the euphoric tingles of the buzz to the next level. To satisfy your inner truffle pig just head to DC recreational storefront, Flight Pass ASAP and pick up some of this terrific Candy Truffle.
