- Darwin Farms' Cherry Trufflez - Top Secret DC
Every once in a while I stumble upon a bag that catches my eye so well that I just have to grab it and take a closer look. Often times that bag, and its artful design, is far better than than its contents. With these Cherry Trufflez, by Darwin Farms and available from DC i-71 delivery and pickup legends, Top Secret DC, the amazingness that you get on the outside of the bag is a good match for that which is within. Thought to be a slightly indica-heavy crossbreed of White Cherry Truffle (Chemdog X Cherry Lime X Highland Afghan) and Zkittlez, the bouquet is astoundingly creamy and fruity very much like the aroma of a newly opened tub of cherry ice cream. Said cherry is spot on for black cherry notes in aroma as well - how complex and exotic is that? In flavor, the cherry doesn't pass through as much as the creaminess, but it is present along with sweet skunky undertones. While it could be slightly fresher, it's likely that the aroma and flavor would not have been as mature and distinctly black cherry without a proper cure. Yet, the trichomes are still white and healthy as in the image above. Besides aroma and flavor, the most exotic aspect of these buds is their startling hue of purple. What greens exist are nearly aquamarine and seem like veins among all the wild lavenders and violets. When you break it up, the mixture of all these colors lets you know just how exotic this batch is, esp. in contrast to anything else you might be rolling up beside it. But, let's just pause for a second and look at how damn stoned the iguana on the pack (seen above) truly is. I mean look at those eyes! I bet he's thinking about how Darwin did not have this type of situation in mind at all when he visited the island so long ago. Or did he?!? 🤔 Luckily you don't have to voyage halfway around the earth to find this exotically evolved creation. Instead, just hit up Top Secret DC ASAP. - Raffy's Donut Rosin Rolls - Joint Delivery
Many times pre-rolls have a "pre-roll" smell to them. Sure it still smells like good weed, but often there's a little stale or slightly bitter aroma. In the case of these Donut Rosin Rolls from DC i-71 delivery pro's, Joint Delivery, the aroma is like that of a freshly cracked pack. Then there's the potent string of rosin down the center which is also noticeable on an olfactory level. I honestly could not wait to toke this thing. And what a massive "thing" it is. There's three plus grams of delightful flower in here and the potency seems to emanate even from whatever secondary container you might try to restrain it in. Good luck! It's definitely the kind of pre-roll that is more blunt than joint and hey, if you need to set it down for a minute no worries. What's a donut rosin roll? I'm glad you asked. If you take a pre-roll and you add a string of rosin right down the center where it acts as the jelly to the pre-roll's donut, you have a donut rosin roll. This makes for an even more euphoric experience as the rosin is something like 75% THC and has a higher level of terpenes and complex cannabinoids than the flower. Let's not forget about the great glass tips installed on these donut rolls either. I can't say enough about how awesome glass tips make things taste, and in this case it's truly the cherry on top of an already mesmerizing gift. To get your hands on a Raffy Donut Rosin Roll just hit up Joint Delivery and schedule your delivery ASAP. Don't forget to use Promo Code: "TokersGuide" for $10 off your order!
- Romulan - House of Herbs
Greetings earthlings! The world looks a bit different from up here in the furthest reaches of the atmosphere - that's where this extra-terrestrial Romulan cut from DC i-71 storefront House of Herbs has taken me. However, this might not come as a surprise to both those in the know about this strain...and Star Trek enthusiasts. If you're not familiar with this legendary cultivar, it's said to run indica on some informational resources, and 50/50 on others. In fact, while it's been around since the 1970's, there's a wide variety of different information available about it online, some possibly misleading. Is this disinformation due to alien influence? Perhaps. The most reliable of the aforementioned sources has the lineage as a four-way cross of Korean Thai, Mexican, Colombian and Afghani, backcrossed with Colombian. In that case, and in the case with this particular batch, the indica sativa ratio most likely lands somewhere close to 50/50. Was this highly stoning, but balanced hybrid specimen the work of a space traveling race of ultra-warriors? Could be. Regardless of what galaxy it's from, you'll have to go warp speed down to DC i-71 storefront House of Herbs to grab some of this mega skunky, terp laden varietal for yourself. Hopefully there will still be some left and it hasn't all been "beamed up" already. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Cherry OG - Top Level DC
A 50/50 hybrid crossbreed of Lost Coast OG, Afghani, and Cherry Thai, Cherry OG sounds much simpler in name than its exotic lineage and deliciously complex flavor might otherwise lead you to believe. When you first crack open this "Cosmic" level fire from DC storefront Top Level, its sweet, sugary, and sour fruit aroma will make you want to stick your whole nose in the jar. We don't recommend this however as, upon removal, you might find several buds accidentally stuck to your nose. It's fresh, sticky, extremely bright neon green - so much so that it stands out in a line-up with numerous other heady varieties in my coffers. When I hit it for the first time I was immediately brought back to some fresh indoor harvests I was once privy to in Northern California. I must say, I'm thoroughly enjoying the high level of quality and freshness coming from Top Level recently and I can't wait to see what they roll out next! To grab some of this Cherry OG for yourself just head over to i-71 storefront, Top Level today.
- Jack One / Paris OG - No Kids Allowed
One for the day, one for the night! Right now award-winning DC i-71 storefront No Kids Allowed is serving up some spectacular slices of both super sativa haze, Jack One, and nearly pure indica, Paris OG. For the daytime, this Jack One, aka J1, is a 70/30 sativa dominant crossbreed of legendary Jack Herer and Skunk #1. An incredible haze varietal, this particular batch is top notch with an extravagant amount of resinous trichomes and an anise and lemon aroma that Jack lovers will know (and love) well. In terms of food and beverage analogies, its flavor is like a lemon drop shot dropped in a craft root beer. Or perhaps a lemon meringue pie with fennel. Trust me, what might sound a little strange in the food world often turns out to be the perfect treat when it comes to cannabis lover's palate. For the night, this Paris OG is like someone whisked you off in a dream to explore beautiful Paris from a bird's eye view. You'll float high above the Eiffel Tower and then down to the Arc de Triomphe along the Champs-Elysees... Ok so maybe that's a bit hyperbolic, but in all seriousness this is one of the most decidedly delicious pure OG's that I've had in a while, and it's effects are like that of the most potent indica's imaginable. Falling asleep after an evening of toking on this euphoria inducing batch and you may just have that Paris voyage...in your sweat OG dreams. A quick shoutout about the new bags at No Kids Allowed. These things are just what you might expect from such a fun-loving, knowledgeable, and compassionate group with a dedication to great customer experiences. Not only are they beautiful and well-functioning, they're also interesting and informative. Head on over to the Eastern Market area of DC and check out storefront No Kids Allowed to get your hands on these two amazing strains. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Infused Latte Bon Bons - District Derp
To be honest, I know almost nothing about bon bons. I know a lot about cannabis, but very very little about bon bons. Yet, here we are...with infused bon bons from DC i-71 rockstar delivery company District Derp. So, of these bon bons, I say to you what I can say about them with my present, existing knowledge of bon bons, which is that they are...awesome! I'm not going to go out and become a bon bon master connoisseur and start making my own infused bon bons, but if I were and if I did, I would make them just like this. Apparently, there are a lot of other people who agree with me too because these are a top gifted item over at the Derp gallery. If you're not familiar, District Derp is a purveyor of pup-painted artwork who have excellent cannabis gifts. These little delectable bite-sized morsels are so easy to just pop in your mouth on the go and at 10mg each the portion size and dosage control is right where I need it to be from an edible perspective. Public service announcement: Always take it slow with edibles. You cannot un-eat them easily. I say this because they are delicious and it's hard not to eat more than you should! The more you know... (cue the cheesy PSA music). They're sweet and creamy with notes of coffee and hints of chocolate. The glittery sprinkles add to the fun with a little crunchy splash of candied sugar in each bite. Only want to take half? No problem, just take a bite and wrap it back up. Just make sure to refrigerate them - they do spoil! To get your "bon bon on" just hit up DC i-71 delivery and pick-up pup-art service, District Derp, ASAP and don't forget to check out their great line-up of flower and whole flower carts as well. - Lemon Ice - Takoma Wellness
This Lemon Ice from DC medical marijuana dispensary, Takoma Wellness Center, is the citrus forward haze varietal I've been searching for. A cross of Lemon Haze and Afghani, it runs roughly 70/30 on the sativa/indica ratio and can set off some creativity whirlwinds in the active mind it produces, at least for me. Lemon Haze, itself being a cross of Silver Haze and Lemon Skunk, has always been one of my favorites in the haze department. Having the added influence of a massively potent, in this case, Afghani indica cultivar just makes the "journey" that much more enjoyable. There are comforting euphoric feels that inundate, seemingly, for longer that usual and there's definitely a more psychedelic element that makes the lights twinkle a little strangely. It's obvious the cultivator was a professional in the case of this harvest, and the buds were clearly finished, flushed, and dried in idyllic fashion resulting in the aforementioned phenomenal aroma and flavor. Note that the texture and light gritty feel of the way these spongiform trich'd out buds break up makes for some of the best rolling material you could ask for. Hazes are hard to grow, and they definitely nailed it with this batch in aroma, flavor, and potency alike. To get your hands on some of these hazy little nuggets of joyous energy just grab your medical marijuana card (from any state) and head to Takoma Wellness Medical Dispensary ASAP. - Petro Headstash - District Firehouse
Without their smell proof jars, District Firehouse's samples would probably have made my whole house smell like a cross between a skunk, pine forest, and open can of diesel fuel. Connoisseurs certainly welcome this aroma and are even led by their nose to it much like Toucan Sam. However, in this case, you can tell Toucan Sam to keep his colorful beak to his own headstash because these buds aren't even remotely fruity (and they're mine).😉 Petro Headstash, short for Petrolia Headstash, is a classic indica strain famously out of Humboldt California with offspring that have even reached legendary status such as heavy indica, Herijuana. Modern cultivators have brought the cultivar out of their seed vaults recently and added some modern genetics to the mix, thus bringing an improved version of Petro, and it's outstanding smell, back into the limelight. If the intensity of its aroma wasn't a clear enough sign of potency, let me just tell you: This is a very, very potent indica. It will make you feel heavy, fuzzy, completely euphoric and, perhaps, even a bit disoriented. Don't forget the munchies and no heavy machinery please! I usually try to give a nod to a couple ways to toke upon each of the delightful flower samples I review. With this beautiful batch, though, I have to recommend rolling joints. You'll just be missing out too much if you don't get to experience the rich and gassy flavor that ends up being so surprisingly savory in a raw cone or paper. This is especially true if you have a petro, piney, or diesel-oriented palate for weed. To get some of this fine Petro Headstash for yourself just hit up District Firehouse and schedule your delivery ASAP. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Berry Haze - Farm to Couch
If you haven't had the chance to check out the local grown, small batch, indoor harvests that DC i-71 service Farm to Couch has been putting out lately, I highly recommend that you do... This Berry Haze, in particular, has been keeping me super motivated and flowing with creative energy for the past few days. It's organic, naturally grown without pesticides or chemicals and, when you crumble its fresh goodness between your fingers you'll know, it's some excellent flower for sure. Actually known in most cases as Strawberry Haze, this very sativa dominant cross breed of one of my favorite hazes, Super Silver Haze, and sativa powerhouse, Strawberry Cough, runs something like 80% sativa. As with most hazes, it comes with a high that is oh so focused and heady in nature, making you get that welcomed headband feeling right after exhale. But, don't confuse this with the Blueberry x Super Silver Haze variety. That one runs more indica and won't have quite the sativa head rush or spawn the same creativity. The aroma is a juicy mountainous berry of some sort paired with hints of pine and perhaps some citrus. The flavor is effervescent and the berry notes shine along with more subtle notes of anise and fennel. This is absolutely one of the most delectable haze-oriented varietals I've had in recent memory. Note the length of the hairs, the starriness of the trichomes, and the spongy structure in the image above. Theses are the hallmarks of a local, connoisseur level grow given that the buds would not have been able to make it in this shape if more packing and logistics were involved. Overall, I'm super happy to see amazing, quality local harvests like this appearing where the utmost attention to detail has been paid and TLC comes first. To get some of this gorgeous Berry Haze for yourself hit up Farm to Couch and schedule your delivery ASAP. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Chocolate Diesel - Sugar Ray's DC
A highly potent sativa dominant cross of Sour Diesel and Chocolate Thai, this Chocolate Diesel from DC i-71 delivery service Sugar Ray's DC is ready to super charge your day. Whether joint, bowl, bong, or blunt you'll get the rich diesel notes you know and love, but with a side of something a bit more sweet and tangy. I've used cereal analogies in past reviews to describe flavor, but in this case allow me to use it to describe effects, instead. This strain is a bit like the sugar rush from something like Count Chocula, but without the uncomfortable crash at the end. Like a little kid being handed the keys to the candy shop, if you're a sativa lover get ready to go berserk with this one. In terms of structure and cultivation, these buds are slender, light, and fluffy with a healthy sugar coating of trichomes. They scream sour diesel in appearance with the tan-ish orange hairs against a neon green backdrop. If you're not familiar with the strain, or if you haven't had many intense sativas, you'll want to take it slow and more gingerly with this batch. So for a great daytime toke, or if you're just a sativa head in general, hit up Sugar Ray's DC today and grab some of this Chocolate Diesel for yourself. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Xeno - Top Secret DC
How about some super frosty buds delivered on a super frosty day? This batch of Xeno from the now legendary i-71 delivery outfit, Top Secret DC, is the perfect potent indica-heavy treat for lounging snow days. It's a cross of the sugary sweet Zkittlez and minty exotic, Kush Mintz. However, this is an extra extraordinary cut given the immaculate coloration and spectacular aroma/flavor. It's so deeply skunky and gassy that it comes across like a very rich shot of espresso. Yet, when you exhale there are creamy and sugary notes that become very evident. It's the kind of bud that makes you want to find excuses to pack it up just to experience the flavor again and again. These are certainly some of the deepest and broadest arrays of purples I've seen recently, but let's stop for a second and talk about what I think is the most impressive aspect of this batch, the staggering size of the trichome heads. Also called Gland cells (as opposed to the stalk of the trichome) these are the bulbous upper portion of an individual trichome. If you think of a trichome as appearing like a mushroom, the heads would be the "cap". On this Xeno, these heads are absolutely enormous and you can see for yourself in the up close photos below. Having walked my dog in the snow very recently, I must say the oversized trichome heads closely resemble the balls of snow that accumulate on his undercarriage as he bounds to and fro. Except, in this case, the "snowballs" are delectably smokable! While it does run very indica dominant in terms of effects, it is more of a mellow vibe versus sleepy or comatose. Lounging feels good, but you may find the energy to get creative in the kitchen. Of course, that could simply be the sheer power of the munchies accumulating after all these rips. 😂 Lastly, I'd like to note how supple the pieces of these buds are in breaking away when packing a bowl or prepping for a joint. They're not crunchy or overtly dry. Instead, as a testament to the quality of the cultivation and brief storage, they're still fresh and tender - a delight to work with from all approaches. To experience this truly excellent designer level toke just hit up Top Secret DC today and setup your delivery or pick-up appointment. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
- Thin Mintz - Joint Delivery
Check out these Thin Mintz from long-time DC i-71 professionals, Joint Delivery. It's listed as a hybrid and it smokes like one too. After the first bowl my thought patterns were at an unusually high level of focus, but surprisingly I didn't have much added energy. No couch lock either, but I was notably at the intersection of heady high and full body melt. Turns out this strange balance was great for me because it helped curb my anxiety without the jitters you can sometimes get with hybrids that are sativa dominant. When you first nose dive into these purple speckled buds you get a strong, fresh, grassy scent and light notes of fresh fruit. Reminiscent of white grape or the bright pith of an orange with hints of sage, the full aroma emerges when you break it up. The smoke comes with an unsweetened graham cracker smell and flavor that's just right for the smoothness of the smoke. The finish is slightly minty which is what must have given rise to the name. No photo can truly do these buds justice either. Small, bright purple flecks are scattered about with an array of other colors ranging from multi-tone green to the deep purple sugar leaves and brownish-red hairs. Then, to top it off, they're encased in a snow blanket of almost shimmery white trichomes as well. What a beautiful specimen! To get some for yourself just hit up the well-oiled and punctual customer service machine that is Joint Delivery and place your order today. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!
