  • White Gushers & Sprinkles - Spaced Out DC

Even though the DC City Council removed i-71 enforcement language from the recently introduced Medical Marijuana bill due to public outcry, aggressive law enforcement actions are still occurring. Case in point, last weekend storefront Spaced Out DC was raided and nearly destroyed. Upset customers looked on in horror as employees were arrested and taken away. Is this an acceptable way to treat small, local businesses at the forefront of the DC recreational marijuana movement, each of whom needs all they can to surmount whatever barriers of entry are installed by the eventual recreational regulations? We say "No!" (emphatically). Even still, Spaced Out DC persists onward and is continuing to serve their customers in a delivery capacity until they can bring the storefront back up. We were to publish our review of these two strains from them, but held off until now given the weekend turmoil. To further support them in their effort to persevere hit them up and setup a delivery order with them ASAP. Before you do, read on so you can take these two delectable strains into consideration. The first (above and below) is White Gushers. Slightly indica dominant and as epically delicious as it is potent, this cross of Gelato #41 and Triangle Kush gets it done for indica lovers on many levels. For one it's that slightly over center indica profile that keeps you from couch-locking, but also jettisons you into a euphoric state complete with body tingles. It's seriously always impressing to me how the Gushers crosses can possess such palpable body buzzes. The next strain, Sprinkles (all below), also runs just slightly indica, but does elicit a bit more energetic sativa qualities than the White Gushers. The body buzz is also lessened, but replaced by a highly enjoyable heady high. I'm typically a daytime sativa user, but this is one I would consider as a comfortable replacement if I didn't need to be supercharged for anything work related. In terms of flavor, the Sprinkles has more cakey, skunky notes whereas the Gushers is quite fruit forward and creamy. In fact, if put into analogous dessert form, the sprinkles would be more like the donut itself while the gushers are like the strawberry cream filling on the inside. Both specimens are very highly trichome covered, but the gushers is the clear winner with an absurd amount of heavy white trichomes. I will say that the Sprinkles is fresher, cut more recently, and will have it's starry trichomes turn to white with more curing. Nevertheless, I doubt it will get to the thick blanket of white present on the Gushers. Overall, you can't go wrong picking up packs of both of these. If you do, try thinking of the Sprinkles as your daytime toke and the Gushers as your evening one. For me this has led to an immensely relaxing, but still productive day. To get yours, and to contribute to the well-being of a DC small business that just took a pretty bad knock, place an order with Spaced Out DC today! • Project 33 - House of Herbs

Goooood Moooorning Tokers! Wanted to very quickly let you know about a fresh and fantastic, chronically potent smelling batch that DC recreational (i-71) storefront House of Herbs just got in. It's going by the name of Project 33 so I'm assuming it's got a lot of Gelato #33 influence in it's lineage - and this is also apparent from the coloration in the photos. What you can't tell from the photos is just how much this stuff will inundate your house with the MOST dank smell ever. If you're not familiar with Gelato #33, or "Larry Bird" as it's often known by, it's the result of a Cookie Farm and Sherbinski collaboration and it's almost always something to be stoked about when it comes around. In this case, I'm guessing the "Project" part is alluding to the presence of other, more sativa-oriented genetics, which make this more sativa leaning than your typical 50/50 Gelato #33. I, for one, welcome the extra pick-me-up and I think it's additive to the overall enjoyableness of what are otherwise standard euphoric Gelato feels. It's likely, in my opinion, that this hidden sativa influence is actually Jet Fuel OG, thus making this some skew of "Jet Fuel Gelato". Of course this would also help to explain why my wife called down, "Honey! It smells like someone left the gas burner on. Can you check?!?!" If you haven't gotten the drift of what I've been saying so far, this bud is absurdly pungent! So if you need a little pick-me-up to get your weekend going, and you want to carry around an awesomely stoney Gelato body buzz for most of the day, head on over to House of Herbs ASAP to grab some of this Project 33 for yourself. You can probably catch a whiff of it as soon as you pull on the block! PS: Don't forget to mention Toker's Guide at check-out for a free pre-roll!

  • New Jack Silky - DC Dash

This sh*t's so fire I was speechless. When I found my words again, I very quickly dropped everything I was doing and grabbed my bong so I could start the review process for this incredible specimen immediately. Going by the name of New Jack Silky, if you hurry you can get a slice for yourself from our friends over at DC i-71 service, DC Dash. It's likely that this - at least the genetics anyways - are from a collective called Mount Burnin Farms who's known for their spectacular (and super rare) designer strains often found in/near the Bay Area in CA. Their Silky Gelato has been making its way around circles since at least the beginning of this year and I've heard it's a cross of famed In-House Genetics "Silky Johnson" and some primo Gelato #33. If that's true then perhaps this New Jack Silky is actually that bred with "New Jack City", the old school sativa leaning crossbreed of powerhouses Jack Herer, Blueberry, and X18. Regardless, someone put a whole lot of thought, time, and energy into making just the pheno itself. Of course, a TON of TLC went into the cultivation of this batch as well. You don't get trichome coverage this rich solely from genetics, you have to really roll up your sleeves, put on your horticulture hat, and go full nerd to get a harvest of this caliber. I'd bet there were aeroponics, CO2, and top-shelf nutrient supplements involved at a minimum. The flush and cure are also exemplary of near perfection which is extremely evident in the epically rich and mouthwatering flavor you'll experience upon exhale. As far as Gelato infused pheno's go, this is my favorite aroma and flavor profile so far. There are sweet, creamy wafts of the traditional Gelato hues, but where this one goes above and beyond is with the over-pronouncement of it's skunky, gassy, and cake-like aspects. When I say "cake" I'm referencing a particular flavor from cultivars like Cake Mix, London Pound Cake, and Wedding Cake. While hard to put your finger on it, these types exude a flavor profile similar to that of a shortbread cookie or angel food cake - simply delicious! Unlike many of the Gelato's I see aging in my friends' jars, this is still fresh and so tantalizing that it's definitely not going to last long. To get your hands on some of your own just hit up DC Dash today! Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you and check out our deals page for a 15% off promo code!

  • EyeSmoke Organic Pre-roll Pack w/ Glass Tip - No Kids Allowed

From the moment DC I-71 storefront No Kids Allowed handed them to us, it was clear the creator of these seven artfully rolled organic pre-rolls, "EyeSmoke", takes their toking connoisseurdom to the next level. The box is a work of art in and of itself, it comes with matches, and there's even a strike pad along the bottom. Pro tip!: matches can make the flavor of joints, bowls, and bongs a bit more pure and pronounced. The packs comes shrink-wrapped and you can tell the freshness has been retained. Even the paper is still soft and subtle. Yet, probably the most user-friendly inclusion in this pack is the glass tip. It's ergonomic in design and seals perfectly against the filter of each pre-roll making for a cleaner, more elegant toke. Clean it up, and it becomes re-usable on all future joints far after this pack is gone. In fact, I'd say the intention here - especially given the nicely closing magnetic clasp on the box - is for the whole unit to be re-usable as your go-to joint tote. Either way, that's what I'll be doing with it once these are all torched. Overall, beautiful packaging, a great design, and excellence with each puff. To get your pack of EyeSmoke Organic pre-rolls head on over to the Eastern Market area and visit DC i-71 storefront No Kids Allowed today. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!

  • Gary Payton Cookies & Lemonnade Cake Mix Glass Tipped Blunts - Buddha Buddy DC

Buddha Buddy DC is always bringing interesting gifts to bear, but they're becoming known more and more for their pre-roll and blunt offerings. Take these two beloved branded blunts, each perfectly rolled with hemp leaf, a glass tip, and true-to-form bud on the inside. When you open the Gary Payton Cookies the smell of freshly baked ganja cookies blesses your entire nasal cavity. It was just like opening a jar or sealed pack of Cookies' fam GP, but already rolled and ready to go, tip and all! The Cake Mix was equally as delectable and very similar in aroma and flavor, but with just that extra bit of sugary, "cakey" sweetness. The baking analogy continues to work for Cookies' oriented varietals imo. In this case - just as the names imply - the flavor difference is much like that between eating a sugar cookie vs eating angel food cake. Both are sugary and similar in flavor, but there are subtle differences that make each special. To grab some of these amazing glass-tipped pre-rolled blunts for yourself just give Buddha Buddy DC a shout ASAP! Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!

  • Sweet Tartz & Lemon Cherry Gelato - Joint Delivery

Toker Alert! There's some serious fire over at Joint Delivery right now in the form of these two Cannatique cuts and I just had to let you know about it with the quickness. They are Lemon Cherry Gelato and Sweet Tartz - read on if you want, but if you're looking to catch a buzz worthy of the most esteemed connoisseurs you can just go ahead and order up! Founded by Oakland, CA's Rebecca Kirk and her father back in 2011, Cannatique Farms is a renowned, designer-only cultivator who has gained many accolades for their phenomenal cultivars. These include Blueberry Cruffin and, as legend has it, the true Runtz of Cookies' owner Berner himself. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that these two packs are of the very highest quality. In fact, upon first gaze of this LC Gelato (pictured above and below), I immediately called for my magnifying glass: "Watson, bring me my magnifying glass these trichomes look like they're about to go into orbit!" My husband came running from the other room, lens in hand. "Are they really that big?" He asked with the enthusiasm of a first time Amsterdam tourist. Of course, as you can see above, they were. It's always wild to me when you can see oversized, bulbous topped trich's, and there's no better example I can think of in recent memory than the ones at hand. The "Sweet Tartz" (pictured below) was also making both of us giddy upon cracking open the pack. It was definitely some eye candy in its own right, but this one's smell was just shockingly similar to the eponymous candy. In flavor, this effervescent tartly sweet fruit smell transitioned into something more like black cherry - hence the cherries on the pack - which I was also very into. The major contrasts between these two, in my opinion, are the following: Aroma/Flavor - The Sweet Tartz is sweet and fruity while the LC Gelato is actually more creamy and earthy with just a tinge of citrus. I love the Gelato flavor in general, and the Lemon Cherry variety just increases the deliciousness for me, but the Sweet Tartz wins this category. It really is a very tasty specimen and likely very high on the terpene chart as well, so I had to give it the win in the aroma and flavor category. Trichomes - The LC Gelato has some of the most epic resin glands imaginable from a size perspective. They are bulbous on top with a narrow stem like a mushroom. The trich's on the Sweet Tartz, however, are more spiky and lack the bulbous top. This is not a bad thing, but it means that one is just that much more potent. which brings us to... Effects - The LC Gelato is the clear winner in this department. When it comes to potency and the euphoric feels it brings to the table there are simply none better. The Sweet Tartz is right behind it for me on potency, but does have the added benefit of being a 50/50 hybrid versus the slightly drowsy and indica-heavy (60/40) LC Gelato. Overall, if you put flavor ahead of effects then the Sweet Tartz (above) may have the edge for your palate. However, if you want to experience heights of heights not often available from a quality and potency perspective, go with the Lemon Cherry Gelato - it's utterly incredible in terms of it's indica power. Either way, give Joint Delivery a shout ASAP to get some for yourselves! Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you and check out our new Deals page for exclusive discounts!

  • Tahoe OG - DC Dash

With all the different types of cannabis I check out on a weekly basis, I often forget how much I enjoy the uniquely rich and tantalizingly exotic flavor of a true OG. This Tahoe OG from DC i-71 delivery experts DC Dash is most certainly of that ilk. It's mega piney, lemon, and earthy flavor and aroma cannot be mistaken and the long lasting, nearly mystic mind melding buzz, accompanied by an equally pronounced indica body high, are some of the most intense of the Kush varietals. This is also some of the most ideal joint rolling weed in my opinion. It breaks up perfect, it has a slight cure to it so it crumbles well, and - again - the flavor, the flavor, the flavor. In a joint is where your palate can truly experience what this strain has to offer. As far as distinguishing it from other OG's, I would say that this one has considerably more of a citrusy tilt to it. If you close your eyes and take a deep waft into your nose, an image of lemons growing on mountain spruce might come to mind - of course this depends on how active your imagination is, but I think the point...RESINates. 😂 Speaking of resin, part of the reason OG's like this one are so potent is because of their resin glands. I know we frequently toss around the word trichomes given all the great tree that passes through here, but biologically and anatomically speaking, they are the resin glands of the plant. In the shots above and below here, you can clearly see that during the life of the plant its glands weren't just doing their job, they were, shall we say, highly productive. This is also clear from the nice coat of kief covering my fingers after every joint rolled. Perhaps most interesting about this Tahoe OG is its ability to create such a powerful indica driven buzz, but still leave you standing. I mean, you won't have much energy and you better believe you'll be relaxed, but if you want to stay out of couch-lock you can with ease. This isn't often the case when I partake in indica-heavy hybrids that are, like this one, around 90/10 on the indica/sativa ratio. So to experience this senses invading olfactory and flavor factory while having a super mellow weekend, give DC Dash a shout today and have some Tahoe OG delivered to your doorstep. • Purple Driver - Elevated Lounge DC

Back in college when the cannabis situation was a little different, I had a grower buddy who would hit me up randomly, every so often, and simply say, "Cool if I stop by?" When this happened I would pretty much drop anything and everything I was doing because I knew when he arrived he would be bringing some type of fresh, magical harvest with him. This guy was a much older head and he knew how to grow the absolute best of the best. I still don't see weed on that lofty level as often as I'd like to. That said, this Purple Driver from famed DC i-71 storefront, Elevated Lounge, is reminiscent of some of his later, better batches and certainly something you all should check out for yourselves. Its nose is a mixture of savory/sweet, exotic/mint, and fruity/skunky. If you leave your jar open and walk across a room that it's never been in before you'll smell it remarkably soon afterwards, and the first aroma from it that you will encounter will be a faint hint of fruit. Quickly, though, your mind will realize that it's not just any fruit, and it's at that exact second that the smell changes and starts to exhibit its more skunky hues instead. This is, of course, the same moment that smiles usually overtake peoples' faces as well, knowing that something very special awaits. Also known as Purple Crash, Purple Driver is a cross of Sundae Driver and Purple Punch that runs slightly indica heavy, somewhere near 60/40. Both of these inputs are highly sought after on their own, but together, with the star-studded lineage they bring, they make for one tremendously exquisite offspring. I do recommend packing this one in your clean, ideally ice chilled, water pipe. You'll want to experience every nook and cranny of this from a clean slate, much as a wine taster cleanses the palate before a new tasting. The freshness of the batch is also easily apparent, with the trichomes still either utterly hyper-white or fantastically starry. Show her to your friends and don't be surprised to hear someone say something like "look at all of those pretty crystals". Of course, trichomes are not crystals, but they sure can - especially given this current specimen - lead to the same shimmery, twinkly effect emanated by fine crystal or jewelry. To get your slice of this fantastic Purple Driver hurry, hurry, hurry and either hit up Elevated Lounge or stop on by their spot ASAP. This is a true connoisseur's dream to toke on and I don't want you to miss out!

  • Slurricane "Whole Flower" Carts - District Derp

As the holiday season approaches I've always got my eye out for really good carts just a little more than usual. This is because I know that I'll soon be spending an inordinate amount of time with family and friends in settings where, let's face it, I can't just break out a Cookies glass tipped blunt and spark it up like your standard stogie. What I can do, however, is pack a perfectly discreet battery and a few 510 threaded carts in my pocket. That way, anytime I'm outside (or perhaps a well-ventilated area) and no one is looking - poof - medicating complete. In my early rounds of exploring carts for this purpose, I stumbled upon the above "whole flower" distillate carts from DC I-71 pick-up and delivery artists, District Derp. Yes, Sudo, our four-legged painting friend, has been exercising his creative juices, slinging paint and paint brush with the skill of a renaissance apprentice lately. We knew the flower gifts that paired with these fine works were exquisite, but we didn't know to look here for amazing carts too. And amazing they are! With the whole flower approach you can get a much cleaner and more naturally flavored toke. This is because the original terpenes, which are present in the plant naturally but typically separated in the distillation process, are re-introduced and blended before completion. Of the flavors available the Slurricane stood out as a varietal that I don't often see in cart form. My curiosity made me choose it for this reason alone. As a 60/40 indica-heavy hybrid cross of Do-Si-Dos and Purple Punch, Slurricane usually packs a sweet, creamy, and fruity aroma and flavor. My thinking was that this flavor profile should prove highly enjoyable in a cart given the natural, whole plant approach - and this was spot on. It wasn't the overt berry notes that I was hoping it wouldn't be, instead it was a delightfully subtle sweetness with a tinge of berry and a bit more piney-ness than expected. To me, it was definitely evident of the quality involved - they lab test every batch, which is always refreshing to see and my preferred way to go. Incidentally, this one ran a highly potent 93.75% THC. I must also mention the District Derp branded batteries they have available. This is the ideal, palm-sized carry along device that I've needed to replace my previous one (an Atmos that mysteriously vanished). Needless to say I'll be putting this quality piece of mini-machinery to great and highly secretive use across Turkey Day and the rest of the holiday season. Pro-tip, if you have a drink with a straw you can, low key, exhale your hit back into your drink and usually retain your cover. Just be sure to exhale slowly and not to cough or you might end up making a...slurricane. 😂🤣🤦‍♂️ To get some of their "whole flower" carts for yourself give our favorite canine art gallery gifting service, District Derp, a shout today! • Update: DC I-71 Businesses Saved!

Please note this article has been moved to its own page here, with updates at the top as they come!

  • Toker Vision - Spooky Edition

All the following gifts are "spooky" good and available right now from the following DC recreational (DC I-71) services and storefronts. They're also super mobile and easy to carry around inside your costume. Here they are in no particular order - but we might have saved the spookiest for last!: Gary Payton Cookies & Lemonnade Cake Mix Glass Tipped Blunts - Buddha Buddy DC (Delivery Service) Cannahiba RS 11 and Runtz "Cannons" - Elevated Lounge DC EyeSmoke Organic Pre-roll Pack - No Kids Allowed (Storefront) If you do it right, these could help make the perfect Halloween for yourself and a slew of your friends. Maybe don't try to light them all up in the same night, though. It's a long weekend! Gary Payton Cookies & Lemonnade Cake Mix Glass Tipped Blunts - Buddha Buddy DC (Delivery Service) Buddha Buddy DC is always bringing interesting gifts to bear, but they're becoming known more and more for their pre-roll and blunt offerings. Both are sugary and similar in flavor, but there are subtle differences that make each special. Cannahiba RS 11 and Runtz Wood Tipped "Cannons" - Elevated Lounge DC An excellent contender for best pre-roll in DC, the Cannahiba Cannons available from our friends over at Elevated Lounge make for excellent party favors. If you happen to light one up on the patio of a Halloween party (or two) expect everyone to take note. True stoners are likely to approach immediately and begin inquiring about it. Even Irish bartenders who happen to be taking the trash out at an opportune moment might say to you "Holy f**k that smells amazing!" (true story). But, you all should be extra careful to note the RS 11 strain. This is pretty special and a super delightful exotic to come by. According to LA Weekly back in Oct 2020, "RS 11 is a pairing of OZK with Pink Guava that was then crossed with a Sunset Sherbert backcross phenotype known as Black Sherb for a tendency to get darker than other versions of the strain." What was exclusive back then remains exclusive now, as you can only get this RS 11 in the form of these Cannahiba cannons (at least for the moment). We sure would love to see it in some jars soon! With a fruit forward stance somewhere near lime on the flavor spectrum, this one will leave your tastebuds happily triggered. Note the wooden tips make these things exquisite, but just as the Elevated Lounge manager said it would, this "really knocked (our) socks off!" EyeSmoke Organic Pre-roll Pack w/ Glass Tip - No Kids Allowed (Storefront) From the moment DC I-71 storefront No Kids Allowed handed them to us, it was clear the creator of these seven artfully rolled organic pre-rolls, "EyeSmoke", takes their toking connoisseurdom to the next level. So, as you prep your costumes for the spooky fun that awaits you this weekend, consider picking up - or having delivered - some of the aforementioned toking creations. They may not bring back all the magic that the holiday had when you were a kid, but they can definitely make all the candy taste just as good! I hope you all have a great and safe Halloween!

  • Gelato Cookies - Elevated Lounge DC

The nose on these Gelato Cookies grabbed me as soon as I walked in over at Elevated Lounge DC. I didn't even know what it was, at first, but I knew I wanted it. After inspecting some of the samples in the illuminated Smokus jars on the counter, I was no closer to identifying the particular cut that was tantalizing my nostrils - though they all looked of impeccable quality. No, it wasn't until my lovely budtender brought out the plastic container of Gelato Cookies packs that I found it, and then I knew instantly. She's fresh, she's utterly and completely oozing with fresh starry trichomes, and she's a total smoke show. When you pinch the buds, she's so fresh, yet so well-finished, that as you hear the crackling of brittleness, you'll get a fantastic whoosh of sweet and milky gelato overtaking your senses. Throw a pinch, like the one above, in your tube and prepare for an astounding bouquet of piney skunkyness turned creamy and sugary cake in the aftertaste. The bud structure is dense, but light and easy to break-up at the same time. There's a multitude of gorgeous colors on all the buds, even the little popcorn ones, but on the bigger colas is where you'll get the more complex blending and contrasting of exotic hues. Purple dominates the valleys while aquamarine and forest greens coat the peaks. Inside, all colorations get a few shades lighter, almost like someone flipped the switch for pastel. As it cures more, it will undoubtedly be much whiter, but I just love the freshness of this batch now, so I'm definitely not waiting to see how any further curing shakes out. As a huge fan of Gelato and Girls Scout Cookies (GSC) it's no surprise that this was where my nose led me. Technically, though, Gelato Cookes is a Cookie Fam creation resulting from the breeding of Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies with Sunset Sherbet. This is, of course, the genetic makings of all Gelato's (think #33, #41, etc.) the variable being which pheno's were involved. Yet, given the extreme nose and remarkably similar characteristics of this batch, I wouldn't be surprised if this was actually Bacio Gelato 41 and of Sherbinski origin. In terms of effects, think everything you could want in an indica leaning hybrid, but add a little zoning energy and headspace to the mix. It's definitely a cerebral variety. Maybe you could kick it in the Elevated Lounge for a bit and get....elevated 😂🤦‍♂️. You know, grab a cannon or two or even take a little Elevated Tour <---did you know about these awesome experiences? Whatever your fancy, go check out the excellence that is Elevated and tell them Toker's Guide sent you to get extra hooked up.
