  • Berry Blue - Buddha Buddy DC

Indica lovers need to check out this really sexy batch of Berry Blue from DC recreational delivery service Buddha Buddy. Also known as Blueberry, she's a legendary indica known for her sweet, fruity flavor and highly sedative effects. This one's aroma, in particular, is incredibly similar to actual blueberries and had me loading my flower vape to see if I could get the same from it's flavor profile - which worked out quite swimmingly. That said, I preferred grinding and rolling joints of these buds versus the bong or vape. At the end of the day, the flavor was stunningly delicious and the buzz was absolutely flooring. Making it to my bed was reminiscent of DiCaprio in Wolf of Wall Street when the decade old quaaludes kicked in and he tried to slither across the ground to his Lamborghini. Ok, so it only FELT like that, I wasn't actually losing control of my limbs - and I DEF wasn't going to try to drive anywhere! Rumored to be a cross of Purple Thai and Afghan that runs indica-heavy at something like 80/20, these buds are trichome covered, soft, spongy, and perhaps even lighter in weight than you may think. They seem to want to float right out of the thin cylindrical jar they come in and show off their pale aquamarine greens and purple flecks for you like, "Hey, smoke me!" That's the exact moment when I grab them, throw them in my grinder, and start prepping for the next joint. So go ahead and hit up Buddha Buddy DC to get your own slice of this fruit forward, amazingly delicious Berry Blue for the indica side of your stash box. • HALO-HALO vs Bubblegum Cherries - Exotic Organics

Among the slew of designer flower packs over at DC recreational (i-71) delivery service Exotic Organics are this Halo-Halo and Bubblegum Cherries. They are similar, but each is incredible in their own way. I'll let you gather the info about the original breeders and cultivators of these strains from the images of the packs below, but let me just say...the Halo-Halo pack design is absolutely eye-popping. ...but, you know, it's what's on the inside that counts. Dare I say what's on the inside is, in my mind, superior to even the celebrated art of the pack - in the case of the Halo Halo that is. For the other bag it's more about what it says than any artwork and, then again, the contents are even more special. Diving into the Halo-Halo, though the genetics are a mystery, this is likely a cross of Halo OG and Gelato that runs something like a balanced 50/50 when it comes to indica/sativa ratio. Therefore, you can feel good about ripping down this delectable flavor and experiencing these mega-potent effects nearly any time of day. With an aroma like a funky gelato, but with a piney OG skew, it will have you loading up the bong over and over just to experience the flavor again one more time. Perhaps that's why they gave it the name of an ever popular Filipino frozen dessert, one typically made with nearly all the sweet and delicious flavors in your cupboard. Similarly, the Bubblegum Cherries has an intensely complex delectable flavor, but with a pronounced citrusy twang. It also has a lineage that's shrouded in mystery, but we can't blame them - these are obviously some sought after seeds and clones if and when available. In terms of effects, both strains are very, very potent and highly balanced so it's hard to distinguish much difference. If forced to choose, however, I'd say the Bubblegum Cherries has a slightly more sedative lean to it making it even more stoney and relaxing. Fresh, still soft, and mostly pliable, the most notable thing about each of these specimens aside from flavor is the completely insane amount trichomes covering them. They are the epitome of "trich'd out" and also "super-rare designer bud". Too close to call a winner, we have to call this match up a draw. But, if you pick them both up we promise you'll win twice over. To get some for your own collection just hit up Exotic Organics asap. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!

  • Purple Afghani - High There DC

Ben from Kannabus here and I'm back with another offering from recreational (i-71) delivery service High There DC. This Purple Afghan Kush, as the name implies, hails from the mountains of Afghanistan and is a phenotype that has been selected for its purple coloration for eons. This is the cannabis of folklore, used in the time-honored tradition of hash making throughout the Middle East. To perfect the qualities that make it so great for said purposes the master growers stabilized the best genes by repeatedly breeding them over and over ultimately creating a strain that is considered by many to be the premier cannabinoid producer of the Afghan region. This potent indica dominant strain runs roughly 75/25 on the indica/sativa ratio and can induce some amazing euphoria while instilling a palpable state of calm. After smoking a large joint, or "phatty" as we used to say back in the day, of this "chronic" flower I was super buzzed and overtly relaxed in mind and body. However, I did feel some creative urges in my headspace, and more sedentary activities felt good to me. While mostly better for evening, I also enjoyed the mellow, almost mystic qualities of the high during daylight hours as well. The aromatic profile is spicy and earthy with a little cheese funk that hits your nose in a delightful way. I think cheesy smelling cannabis is awesome and have always had an odd attraction to something that smells a bit like funky cheddar. You might even say it's pleasantly offensive. Sniff the grinder after you're done giving it some rotations and I think you will agree that this flower’s spicy cheesiness is complex, delicious, and conversation worthy. Maybe even over a nice glass of vino or two. Overall this is one of those indica batches that I wouldn’t mind getting again and again just to keep it in stock for those laidback moments. Give High There DC a shout for some Purple Afghan Kush of your own and be sure to tell them you heard about it on Toker's Guide!

  • Forbidden Runtz - The Gift Givers

For an even fruitier more tropical version of Runtz that has slightly more indica vibes than the typical 50/50 stance the strain is known for, check out this batch of Forbidden Runtz from DC recreational delivery service The Gift Givers. The trichome coverage is the first thing I noted - these buds are super trich'd out. They're also still fresh and full of rich and fruity terpenes just waiting to give you a phenomenal bong rip. And I do recommend ripping this one in the tube - the dense stickiness may make it challenging to roll up, but rewards you when percolated by creating a barn stormer of a head high upon exhale. An indica dominant hybrid cross of Runtz and Forbidden Zkittlez that runs something like 65/35 on the indica/sativa spectrum, Forbidden Runtz is actually quite versatile and provided no sense of the couch lock you might expect. While it is mesmerizing in its potency and ability to drive a powerful full body high, it affords enough energy to keep your head upright, or at least keep you from drooling on yourself. I wouldn't necessarily expect to get a lot of items crossed off your memorial day weekend check-list with this strain in tow, however. You might even say that doing anything too strenuous while under her influence seemed...forbidden. 😂🤦‍♂️ To grab some of this Forbidden Runtz for your own (relaxing) Labor Day weekend festivities just hit up The Gift Givers ASAP. • Black Runtz Pre Rolls - The Pre Roll Guys

Stressed out from a crazy week? I can empathize. To help shed the stress with the quickness you can catch a great buzz from some top-shelf Black Runtz, but without having to do much work at all, just by hitting up DC recreational delivery team, The Pre Roll Guys. They've already done the heavy lifting for you by expertly crafting these fine pre rolls, and they'll conveniently deliver them to you so you barely have to move a muscle. 😅 A slightly indica dominant version of the typically balanced Runtz strain, Black Runtz is known for its complex and exotic flavor profile. With a rich, skunky, funky, fruity flavor from actual bud (not leafy shake) lovingly rolled into each Element paper, we suggest saving these pre rolls for the mid-to-late afternoon. That way they'll help instill a super chill vibe and some mega euphoric tingles for the next couple hours and you can slide on into the evening fully relaxed already. With two pre rolls in a pack, it's perfect for a shared experience with a friend or significant other as well. Note that they burn long, smooth, and with a white ash - which is indicative of the quality of the contents. Pro tip: if you can't finish your "j" just bring a pair of scissors along with you (or even a cigar cutter if you want to get real fancy) and you can snip the lit pre roll right below the cherry, making for a flat and unburned area to re-light when you're ready. In this manner you won't loosen up the joint by flicking off the cherry, and you won't be struck with a harsh charred flavor caused by snuffing it out either. So give The Pre Roll Guys a shout today and order up some of these delectable and highly potent professional grade Black Runtz pre rolls for yourself. • Black Ice - Elevated Lounge

In the winter, during the bitter cold, you sometimes have to be careful not to slip on black ice. Well, I'm here to warn you, in the summertime, not to slip on this Black Ice from DC recreational storefront, Elevated Lounge.😆 An indica dominant hybrid that runs something like 70/30, this is a cross of Black Domina and Ice strains that is sure to get you absolutely ripped. It's aroma is funky and floral with hues of something spicy that lets you know just how venomously potent this one is. Likely grown in an aeroponic system and tended to by a master cultivator, the trichomes are so heavy, so robust, that they look like giant ice stalagmites cascading down their nearly black slopes. For this reason, it's also likely there was supplemental CO2 in the room, which helps give the extra nudge over the quality line from designer exotic to extra special and, potentially, award-winning flower. You can be packing this Black Ice up in your bong and feeling her tremendously euphoric total body buzz in no time. Just head to DC recreational storefront Elevated Lounge today. • Chocolate Grape Diesel - The Garden

Strain choices, and the decision on which varieties to smoke at various times of the day, more often than not have everything to do with what you plan to do with the buzz you’re about to receive. When my North Carolina family decided to venture north for a weekend getaway and pool party, I knew that my newly acquired sample of Chocolate Grape Diesel from DC recreational storefront, The Garden, would be the perfect flower to make our Saturday special. An indica-dominant hybrid cross of Grape Diesel and Chocolate Kush with a funky, fruity, yet gassy nose, this batch lives up to its name with hints of dark chocolate as well. It's the gassy aroma that dominates, however, penetrating the nose and leaving you salivating at the very thought of the flavor profile that will be released once some flame enters the picture. Not surprisingly the Diesel "fumes" became even more intense when grinding. I stuffed one of my cones to the brim, now noticing some flecks of purple in the mix, and gently twisted and crimped the end making the perfect pre-roll. Ten minutes and a solid buzz later we all had a newfound level of euphoria and giggly excitement to venture back to the water with. Note that this herb had no couch lock effect at all, even with the strong, mystic indica body buzz. In flavor the chocolate was more evident and there was a hint of grape that could be tasted as I let my tongue touch the roof of my mouth several times. Tasty indeed! It also definitely packed the punch that I needed, quelling all of my soreness and flattening my anxiety. We continued to share a couple more joints throughout the day and the whole group agreed that the positively gleeful buzz of this great gassy strain was sure to satisfy during anyone's mid-day session. Conveniently located on New Jersey Ave in NW Washington DC, The Garden is really doing their thing and we think that Chocolate Grape Diesel is a great example of quality flower that can be found in the area presently. Give The Garden a try and you won’t be disappointed. Let them know that Toker's Guide sent you and see for yourself what their top tier customer service is all about. Be blessed!

  • Red Congo - Lucky Chuckie

An amalgamation of three different landrace strains, Mexican Sativa, Afghan Sativa, and Congolese, this Red Congo from DC recreational delivery service, Lucky Chuckie, is designed to add ideal qualities from each while still maintaining the majority of the benefits of the Congolese namesake. The result is a delightful and flavorful 100% sativa that makes for a fabulous daytime smoke. From the sweet, fruity, and cheesy aroma that overtook me when I opened the bag to the spongy, gritty, and neon green material that makes it awesome to roll up, I was eager to give this one a "go" ASAP. When I sparked it up, I noted that the taste was a bit more spicy and earthy in nature than the aroma - how exotically delicious! What really made me a big fan, however, were the wonderfully unique effects. As a sativa, it's a bit different than others you might have encountered recently. It comes on strong with a bunch of energy and gave almost everything that was going on around me a new, humorous light. Soon this energy evolved into a tingle of euphoria and a highly tranquil state where I maintained the aforementioned lens of humor, but wanted to lounge and bask in the sun versus being physically active. There was also a sense of mental clarity and ease that made me feel refreshed in a way. To experience the phenomenal effects of this unique sativa offering from DC's Lucky Chuckie just hit them up and grab some Red Congo today. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!

  • Bubblegum Silky - Exotic Organics

🔥🚨 - Fire Alert! There's basically a designer flower takeover going on at Exotic Organics right now, and we're going to review a few of them for ya across this week. First up, this Bubblegum Silky...which is utterly spectacular 🤩. Originally bred by epic cultivators Mount Burnin Farms, this is a bubblegum flavored skew to their already legendary Silky Gelato. Though it has Bubblegum in the name, the genetics seem to be a closely held secret over at Mount Burnin so we're unsure of the actual lineage - other than Gelato that is. One could assume that the Bubblegum cultivar is an input, however, the energetic aspects of the effects tend to say to me that there's something besides a heavy indica that's been added to the mix. Perhaps it's just a pheno of the Silky Gelato that runs more energetic and has delicious bubbelgum hues to the aroma and flavor? In any case, it's awesome, so keep up the great work and tell us what's in it when you get around to it. Even the bag is, shall we say, on fleek. Some people think that if it has the CA warning on it then it had to come from Cali. This is untrue. It just means that the bags CAN be used in CA and, likely, are commonly used there. You can buy (empty) designer mylar packs from almost anywhere online and have them sent to you for relatively cheap. It's the contents that matter - and that we're after - and in this case the contents is some LOUD and extremely delectable designer bud, for sure. Trying to pinpoint the aroma of these buds is challenging because the notes seem to shift significantly across a sample set of sniffs. Therefore, I'm going to give you a range. On one end there are savory, skunky notes. On the other there are fruity bubblegum-like ones. In the middle they mix together, but there's also a creaminess that usually typifies only the finest Gelato specimens. Maybe we can think of it more like a gelato dessert bar all wrapped up into one pheno's flavor profile? Note that it's been kept fresh and has globs of hyper-white trichomes so plentiful you may start daydreaming about little avalanches of them occurring when breaking up the buds. It also breaks up in a smooth and "silky" way due to the suppleness of the bracts and sugar leaf remnants. The smoke is so smooth you might even use the term "silky" to apply to it as well. For a real cannabis connoisseur's dream just hit up Exotic Organics and get some of this Bubblegum Silky ASAP (before I grab the rest of it for myself). • Blueberry Runtz - Top Level

Another great batch of Runtz, this Blueberry Runtz is available at the always kind and courteous DC recreational storefront, Top Level. It's an indica-heavy cross of infamous indica, Blueberry, and Runtz that runs something like 60/40. Personally, I feel like it had solidly more indica effects with some of the drowsiness I experienced. That and the magnificent body buzz made this a real night time treat for me. 🌙 As you break it up you'll notice that classic Runtz aroma - one that's super skunky with fruity notes - along with a bit of an extra berry vibe to it. Throw it in the bong and this aroma becomes the flavor your exhaling while the salivary glands in your mouth begin working overdrive. This one really packs a flavorful punch that works well with almost any medium, be it bong, bowl, or joint. In appearances, it's easy to tell the quality of the lineage and grow due to the staggering amount of trichomes layered all over the super dark purple buds. Our only wish is to have received some bigger colas, which would have made the photography a little easier. Nevertheless, we think it's worthy of your connoisseur level stash box. So head on over to storefront Top Level DC today to get your hands on some of this Blueberry Runtz for yourself. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!

  • Slurricane - DC Dash

Greetings and happy Saturday! Last night I got to try a stupendous indica called Slurricane, currently available from DC recreational delivery service, DC Dash. As a 60/40 on the indica/sativa spectrum I found its euphoric "feels" to be much more along the lines of a Kush or deeper indica. A cross of Do-Si-Dos and Purple Punch, Slurricane as a strain is reputed to have sedating effects and to come with a heavy body buzz. This has previously been my experience with Dos-Si-Dos, so I'm not too surprised. I suppose what was most surprising and enjoyable about this bud aside from the mesmerizing and calming effects was the pungent aroma. Spicy, earthy, but with berry notes on the exhale, the aroma and flavor are best rolled up in a joint to experience the nuances in the exoticness. Though I would say that this bud's status is cured and not super fresh, the quality of the genetics and trichome coverage mean it's still a great one to toke on. That toke, by the way, is smooth but with the spiciness I mentioned - not like a hot pepper, more like a spice cabinet, but hard to discern. To grab some of this powerful, potent, and pungent Slurricane for yourself just hit up DC Dash today. Don't forget to tell them Toker's Guide sent you!

  • Jokerz 31 - District Derp

Check out this batch of Jokerz 31 from DC recreational delivery service, District Derp. According to the flower description on their website, their selections are all organically grown by local master growers using small batch cultivation methods. As a Virginia compliant hobby grower with aspirations to move into the recreational market upon full legalization, I too enjoy crafting an organic product and this specimen is a great example of what an organic approach, along with quality genetics, can produce. Yet another powerful indica to add to my stashbox, the "Jokerz" mellow and relaxing high is not overly couch lock capable but has plenty of chill vibes within its cannabinoid and terpene complexities. The dark green to emerald flower is laced with silvery glistening trichomes and has purple splashes across its insides. My sample was the size of a golf ball and had the aroma of funky gas and fruity earth-tones. The lineage of this strain is a combination of White Runtz and Jet fuel Gelato, which explains the heavy gas aroma present all around me. As I broke it up to roll a large, cylindrical joint for the Mrs. and I to share, the complex scents being released transcended from nose to palate and then to what seemed like my entire personal space. Prior to lighting it we spent a good amount of time (probably too much) just smelling the"J" trying to discern what fruit, or collection of fruit, the fruity notes resembled. Let's just say the aroma is pretty epic with this one. The joint burned slow, even, and with a classic white ash. It was also super smooth and extra satisfying, which led me to even greater appreciation of District Derp’s company values and commitment to organics. As fresh as the unique doggy paintings that they sell are, their flower choices are just as fresh, if not fresher - sorry Sudo (that's their Alaskan Klee Kai that does the painting). In terms of effects, we both felt sedated and immensely relaxed with a great euphoric body buzz. Some great sleep was def on the horizon for both of us, but for the moment we were bleary-eyed and giggly watching some silly B movie. So give District Derp a shout and tell them that Toker's Guide sent you to find out what this "Joker" is all about.
